Palm Avenue

This store is beautiful. I make a point to visit every Lilly store in any city that I visit. The younger girl working was awesome, and she pointed out their extremely large clearance section to me. I found a beautiful tote for over $ 100 off. SOLD! The girl who rang me up was not nearly as friendly as the girl who was helping me. My boyfriend even noted that she seemed, well, snobbish to say the least.

The store itself is adorable, and the selection of Lilly Pulitzer clothing is impressive, but the quality of staff leaves something to be desired. Some of the girls you’ll run into are very nice, helpful, and go out of their way to accommodate you. Then there are several there that basically just stare at you while you shop and make you feel very unwelcome, which makes me hesitant to return. I would give a higher rating if the friendliness of the staff wasn’t so hit or miss.

I’m not a huge fan of Palm Avenue. The customer service from general employees is fine, but the manager is a complete you-​know-​what. I went to return a dress I bought a couple weeks ago, and she looked at me, disgusted. She inspected the dress with a fine-​tooth comb and then reluctantly returned the dress. I handed her the bag the dress came in when I returned my stuff, which had a headband in it I forgot I put in there, and she said, rather rudely, «Um, THIS is NOT ours.» Well, no s***. She didn’t tell me to have a nice day or anything. I definitely won’t be back. I’ll buy my Lilly Pulitzer clothing elsewhere. Belk in Mt. Pleasant carries a wide variety. I always buy a new dress each season, so they’re definitely losing business!

I liked this place way too much, especially after I discovered Lily & Laura bracelets there. Good sale prices on Lilly Pulitzer clothes, but I resisted temptation to get a 3 figure sun dress or casual top because of course, nothing my size was on sale. They also have other brands of clothing but Pulitzer is featured.
(If you like L&L bracelets, go around the corner on Market St. to the Pure Barre studio — they sell Lilly & Laura bracelets at 3 for $ 10 each –as does the web site — instead of $ 12 each — no quantity discounts.)
Very professional staff — the manager or owner is poised, elegant and friendly.
