Best pizza ever !!! My wife and I are pretty critical when it comes to pizza but this was one of the best tasting pizzas we’ve had ! Highly recommended to everyone!!!

I ordered chicken parmesan and what I got was a joke. Chunks of chicken squares in a pile of noodles? Where’s the cheese? Where’s the parmesan? Where’s the sauce? It also arrived cold.

We stopped in for a couple of drinks and was surprised to find the place not quite half-full in this busy area. Cheap slices, beer and compared to the other places on the block, a quick sit-down no problem. Our server was cool about our lack of food-ordering, and we were able to enjoy our drinks and head out into the night.

Slices for $ 2.50 are hard to beat. Excellent service even though all we ordered was water and a couple of slices. They even changed one of the tv channels to a basketball game we requested. Also the pizza was quite tasty!

I love this place. Such a cool casual atmosphere right in the center of everything. The food never disappoints.

We stopped in here after a few hours of sightseeing. We had a new server who did a great job for our family of six, but the food was nothing memorable. We ordered the wedge salad, breadsticks and a pepperoni mushroom pizza.

This place was REALLY mediocre. Straight in the middle: nothing really sticks out at all. The staff is really friendly and nice but the food was pretty bland and had to be seasoned pretty generously at the table. The garlic breadsticks were covered with good mozzarella but were so strong that I almost couldn’t eat them and I love garlic. The pizza was really no better, go eat at the pizza place in the mall and you’ve had this pizza. It tasted exactly like the«Sbarro» pizzeria in the mall of my hometown of Knoxville, it just cost more. Even more shocking, they use pre made pizza. They were«out of the deep dish» when we ordered that. This place might be ok if you were in the area and in the mood for pizza but short on cash but I would say to steer clear otherwise.

Great little pizza joint in Charleston. Liked that it was NY style as it really is the obit way to eat pizza. They had a charming place that felt like I was in NYC. Beers were typical draft options nothing outstanding. Started off with the Italian fries and they were delicious. Parmesan and other Italian seasoning and a huge portion! We went for a deep dish NY style with pepperoni and it was amazing. Crispy and cheesy goodness in every bite. Our waiter was attentive and made sure our lunch was great. Enjoyed sitting at the window and people watching!

We ate a pepperoni pizza and chicken Parmesan sub. Both were bland and not good. The house salad was delicious though! I would come back for only a salad.

Keep walking! Slow service, tasteless food, and rude management. Cheese sticks have NO taste and the marinara is watered down. 1 of 3 tables in the resturant and still waiting over an hour to receive app and pizza at the same time. Over heard the cook say, «my bad, I forgot it.»

I stopped here with the kids(9 and 5) on Saturday around 1:30pm for a quick bite. The place was full, but the host found a seat for us in a booth and the wait time was less than a minute. Our server came out quickly for our drink orders and dropped off crayons for the kids, which is always a nice temporary distraction. My son was distracted by the NASCAR qualifying on TV. We ordered a basic pizza, medium, which came with 8 slices. We took care of 7 of them between the 3 of us, and were provided with a to-go box. You can’t just leave one slice hanging, and it was eaten at home within 24 hours. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of the pizza and service, however, my one complaint is that when you customize your own pizza, to add a topping to it costs you $ 2 per topping. We added mushrooms, and I just didn’t see how that could cost $ 2 for the quantity we received. I could see myself giving 4 stars if it wasn’t for the cost of toppings.

Despite the bad reviews… My boys wanted pizza and it was across from where we were staying so we agreed to give it a shot. It’s layout is odd and the workers are odd but the pizza was surprisingly good. Posted a few pix for show. Service was not bad at all. Might not go and sit down inside again but I can see a take out in the future.

Do not eat here. I’m usually skeptical when I enter a restaurant where the hostess is the bartender, and server, and hostess. When I see this I usually walk out. I’m not the only one who does this as we were waiting for our food I saw another family of 3 walk out before being seated, but we weren’t so lucky. They cannot honestly call what they served us good food. Everything we had was bad. The pizza was cold, the meatball sub was tasteless, the fried calamari was hard and dry, and the lettuce was limp and old. Thank goodness the hostess/bartender/waitress forgot our wings because she was overwhelmed with wearing so many different hats or else we would of ended up paying extra for something that probably would have tasted awful.

We walked in at around 6p on a Friday night on New Year’s Day and it was not packed at all. We should have taken that as a sign and left. But we stayed and ordered. Everyone in our party of 8 ordered a pasta dish except one who ordered the chicken parm sandwich. … Fast forward to an hour later and we are still waiting on our food. And what was worst than just the wait was that we were never checked on or offered refills or anything that entire time. … Now our food arrives… Everything is bland. And I mean EVERYTHING tasted like NOTHING. Even the kids complained about the lack of flavor… When kids complain about food LACKING flavor… That’s bad. Terrible service. Terrible food. Heed the REAL reviews! Oh! And we saw at LEAST4 different parties leave either because they had been waiting too long or because they were never greeted/acknowledged to begin with.

Excellent food, recommend the Marco Polo salad. Waitstaff is friendly. Only complaint is that the food takes a while, but it is made n house. Pizza comes by the(big) slice or the whole pie. Overall a nice place with a good atmosphere, especially on a Friday.

This place was ok. It was a later night after a few drinks when a bartender recommended this place to us for pizza. You can build your own slices, which is cool. I asked for one with chicken, onions, and jalapenos. Wow, they loaded on the toppings, but there was hardly any cheese or sauce, I am talking NONE. I do like a lot of toppings though. But they weren’t that good. The chicken was dry and the other toppings just didn’t seem fresh. the crust was good though. It would’ve been better had they included extra marinara or any sauce at that. The pizza was just too dry. Service was average. But is was a pizza place, so I didn’t expect much. The red wine was not good, although I do not remember which one I got. This place is good if you are looking for an average late night bite.

Unfortunately, my first time to New York City Pizza is more than likely my last. Because it’s located on East Bay in the heart of the city, this means that finding street parking is virtually impossible and of course there’s no parking lot available for customers. Luckily the Cumberland Street Garage is closeby but for me this meant having to park on the sixth level or so(the roof) as the first few levels were all reserved spaces and the rest were all basically taken. The restaurant itself was interesting as it was in a nicely renovated old building. While the bar, dining area, and kitchen were all in very close quarters with one another, it all somehow worked. The staff there also seemed pleasant. Because I had ordered a pizza to go, it wasn’t until later that I realized that all the trouble I had gone through wasn’t worth it. I had ordered a BBQ Chicken Pizza(that included bacon pieces and a heavy dose of Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce). It’s too bad that the chicken pieces looked and tasted like cut up Tyson’s chicken tenders that had been overcooked while the crust was very bland. The entire pizza tasted like they had cooked it hours earlier that morning and then just rewarmed it. Actually my father and I shared this pizza at lunch in a downtown park and he completely agreed with me about the lackluster quality of the pizza. After having just yesterday tried DeSano Pizza Bakery(94 Stuart Street) for the first time and thoroughly enjoying their pizza and hospitality, the contrast between them and NYCP was like night and day.

FROM A LOCAL: We tried to give them a shot! Ended up walking out because they wouldn’t let us order chicken fingers. That’s right… chicken fingers! We ordered drinks and appetizers, then ordered a large pizza. My daughter wanted chicken fingers from the kids menu but ohhhhhh no she was older than 12.“it’s company policy you have to be under 12″ Ok we will have a hot dog off the regular menu… We don’t have that tonight! They still wouldn’t let us get the chicken fingers??? Really??? they are chicken fingers! So instead of letting us get a 5 dollar order of chicken fingers with our meals(mind you, we were ok with the no under 12 until they didn’t have the other option available) spoke to the manager(pretty sure he was still able to order chicken fingers) he still wouldn’t let us order them. So we walked out of the restaurant, our dinner order was already being prepared so they lost not only LOCAL customers but the food they had to throw in the trash. On a side note they were EMPTY in the heart of the historic district in the number one travel destination in the U.S. That should tell you everything you need to know. That and the 2.5 stars they are rated on Unilocal! SOUTHENDBREWERY was great! Accommodating and brought us a dessert on them!

They deserve no stars. Went there with 5 people, no one around at entrance so, we sat down, young man came over said there is a waiting list. Told him there was no one at the door when we entered, and I did not see any people waiting. Gave him my name, he asked for my phone number, asked why, he said this is how we contact you when table is ready. I said no, and that we we’re just outside the door, 4 ft away. He looked at me like I was crazy, and said this is how we do it. Said he cannot guarantee a table! Why should I give a number, so he can text useless info to me or search for my address for more useless info, no thanks. I never have been asked this in any establishment that I have gone into. We left, their loss. Frank G
