We had such a great time grabbing drinks with our dogs on the patio. Live music was fabulous!!! Fried mushrooms were super good!!! Drinks and beer selection amazing. Will be back when visiting Charleston :)

Went on a Friday night but the bar wasn’t very crowded. The outside patio had a lot of people listening to a singer. The patio is dog friendly which is rare for downtown. The inside bar was nicely decorated. The food was great! We had fried mushrooms and the chocolate chip Baileys sundae brownie. The dessert was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was definitely heavy on the Baileys(not complaining). Atmosphere didn’t feel very«Irish» to me though so that’s the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

We stopped in here because we had our dog and needed somewhere we could sit outside. We also happened to have a certificate, so we figured why not. The service was good, attentive but not annoying, and helpful. We asked drink opinions and tried a few Irish beverages. I got an Irish cider, Magners, which was a little less sweet than Angry Orchard. I would order that again. We shared an appetizer of the Kerry Nachos. They are generous in their toppings, but the flavor wasn’t my thing. Maybe that’s the way Irish nachos are, but they seemed a little bland, no kick of anything, despite having jalepenos on them. I asked the hubs his opinion, he said they were okay, and that he’d be more apt to order them again if they used good chips. Couldn’t agree more, a bit of spice and a great warm crunchy chip would make this dish. We split the fish and chips as a meal. Again, not bad, I’d go here before ever trying to make them myself. The fish batter was crispy and hot, the fish itself flaky and soft. Nothing wrong with this dish, but also nothing about it that will draw me back either… It’s a Irish themed environment(in case that wasn’t obvious) with outdoor seating(but be warned, the space is really mostly for smokers). Overall, good service, and okay food. I almost feel a little bad for them, in a lot of places they could be great, but with all the options in Charleston, it wouldn’t be my first choice(at least for food). There were some Irish people hanging out(assumption based on accents) outside though, and I could see how it would be especially appealing to them in the same way Mac’s brings a little bit of home to this Chicago gal. Maybe I need to hop the pond and visit Ireland to really appreciate this place.

I don’t spend a ton of time on East Bay now that Upper King has so many fun places vying for my attention. On the rare occasion that I do find myself down that way, I almost always end up at Molly Darcy’s. It’s got a great authentic Irish Pub vibe and some great food. I definitely don’t think this place gets enough credit. Their outdoor patio is fantastic. Molly Darcy’s gets a lot of great musical talent(shout out to Catch and Release) and who doesn’t like to sit on a patio, have a drink, and enjoy some fantastic tunes. I don’t always go out on East Bay, but when I do. it’s to Molly Darcy’s… Stay thirsty my friends.

This place is fantastic!!! Went here and got food one day after walking on Market St. My boyfriend got the shepherds pie and i got the Celtic burger. Both where insanely good. The shepherds pie was traditional and reminded me of my grandmother’s recipe, it also came with rye bread. The Celtic burger had some Irish bacon on it and it was cooked perfectly. We now go here weekly if not every other week to get dinner. They also have a awesome special during football games, if you buy a pitcher of harp you get free Irish nachos. YESFREENACHOS!!!

This would ordinarily be a 3-star review but exceptional service by Jordan(and the fact that she knows how to pour a proper pint of Guinness) bumped it up a star. Think typical American-Irish pub with live music outside and inexpensive drinks inside. It seemed to have a mix of tourists and locals. When we let Jordan know we were visiting and had just gotten married, she wrote out a list of must-go places for us. And then when the couple next to us asked to see the list, she wrote it out again for them too!

Pretty decent happy hour deals. Monday through Friday from 4pm — 7pm is $ 1 off house liquor and domestics and $ 5 appetizers. The atmosphere is definitely a pub. I will go back when it cools down outside so that we can enjoy the patio(although, there were tons of smokers out there, so not sure it would be my thing). The spinach artichoke dip was so tasty, and you get quite a bit for only $ 5.

Out of the way place. Food is ok. This is really a sports bar. Not family friendly. People are nice. The bar is large and well stocked. It just is not a place that makes an impression. FrankG
