The Mace Brown is located on the second floor of the College of Charleston’s School of Sciences and Mathematics Building. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. The skeleton and fossil collections are fantastic. We enjoyed checking out everything from dinosaur eggs to a saber-​tooth tiger skeleton. The College also recently acquired a cast of a T-​rex which stands in the lobby (his name is Bucky and he’s 13 ft tall and 41 ft long). The museum is small but definitely worth the stop.

What is free in this world, not much. But this is. My understanding is that the articles in this museum are from a private collector. Nice guy. This is a place for everyone in the family. Bones from all eras and all types of dinosaurs are there on display, some you can touch. I’ve taken both my granddaughters there many times. They love it. Now there is a 41 foot long TRex on display for the next year. Something to behold. Kids jaws just drop.
I always donate to the cause when I go. You will too. A must for all.

FREE and exceptional displays. Very educational and professional layout. I was pleasantly surprised at this local treasure. The Docent was very informative and helpful. Great for kids and adults.

This is a gem for children, adults, students and everything in between. Ever wonder what life was like 400 million years ago, well no need to wonder anymore. From prehistoric bears to sharks to dinosaurs, this exhibit will fascinate you. There are artifacts from predators to prey and things you can look at an touch. This may only be one large room, but it is filled with magic. You will experience parts of history first hand and see a beautiful 1.5 million dollar collection of artifacts.
It is a wonderful place to spend an hour or so and learn a great deal.
