I pop into this store every now and again to get a free catalog and check out the clearance section. On my most recent trip, they were having an event so my husband snacked on food while I tried on a shirt I’d been wanting. The employees were all welcoming and the cashier was friendly. The store was well stocked and clean.

I’ve been a regular J. Crew shopper for years and loved the store in Greenville, SC. The staff there were always helpful and friendly. The King St. store, on the other hand, needs to get over itself. Sure, it’s in a prime retail location, but it’s still a J. Crew found at pretty much any mall across America. It’s not some bespoke design house but mass-produced clothing with a reasonable price point. I’ve been to the King St. location twice in the past month and no associate acknowledged my existence or even said hello; they only seem interested in talking to each other or friends that walk in. Today, I decided to pop in to see if they had a pair of jeans I saw in their catalogue. After 15 minutes trying to get someone to help me find a size I walked out. I’ll stick to the catalogue or another locations for now on.

Small clearance section, but otherwise no complaints. It’s your standard J. Crew and the service is fine.

I know. How could anyone not give JCrew a great review? When it is in Charleston, SC! I travel often and adore this brand and the clothes. I have never thought about the service the sales staff gives until I came here a few times from the Spring on in 2012. The sales staff here is an abomination compared to stores in other cities such as Chicago, NYC(all over) San Francisco, Florida, Boston… The staff here is snobby, arrogant and not too bright. In the south I have never encountered a certain Southern snippiness but here– well that is what you have. The clothes– yeah, great. The attitude and the expereince is frankly unbearable although I noticed that if I went to the men’s section, things were improved. Still, M. Drexler– Where art thou?

Unless you have a waist 33 or below you will find nothing here but yawning employees who merrily watch you walk in and about without smiling, offering help or saying hello.

Stopped by while shopping in Downtown Charleston & loved this particular store. The customer service was spectacular & the store was exceptionally clean & inviting. Very much what I expect when shopping at J. Crew!

I just purchased a suit and dress shirt from the J. Crew downtown and could not have been happier. The men’s stylist, Diego Castro, really knew his clothing and helped me out tremendously. He got me sized up and fitted into the perfect suit. I would highly recommend any male going into this J. Crew to ask for Diego. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again Diego!

Yikes… I am a HUGE fan of J CREW Clothing, and typically order online because nowadays customer service is OUTTHEWINDOW, and this experience, again, proved me right. It wasnt bad, it certainly wasnt great, it wasnt even mediocre. I went in there to return an item, and when I got to the counter wasnt even greeted. The grey blob with blond hair behind the counter just asked for my receipt punched some buttons and that was it. Maybe bc I didnt look like her she was thrown off… locs in some places do that. I am such a J Crew junkie and I didnt even want to look around! Didnt say thanks, didnt tell me about any specials, didnt say anything. And THATS why I am now an online shopper. Yeah eBay!

Service was good. Some guy there was really nice. I think he had a belt tucked into the pocket of his shorts like a watch fob. I just find it so sad that there is NO good mens clothing stores in Charleston(that I found). Especially sad since right next door is Worthwhile, a great little spot for the ladies. harumph.
