Awesome experience and selection year round. They are open on Saturdays. Had everything we needed.

They WILL NOT allow you to try on the full costume with the included accessories before you purchase it. I went in with my daughter, she chose a costume (about $ 40), and they even tried to keep me from going into the dressing room with her. They opened the bag, removed the main portion of the costume and kept the rest of it at their counter. Once my daughter put on the main part of the costume, I asked for rest of it and they refused, only saying «it’s just our policy». Thinking they were worried about theft, I suggested the attendant watch my daughter try on the accessories in front of the full length mirror at the end of the dressing rooms. She refused, repeating the policy. I asked the manager and she kept repeating it even after I asked for the logic behind it. Great selection of costumes, but I’m not going to purchase something I can’t try on completely first, especially with a no refund policy. What kind of business model is that? What a waste of time.

In the grand scheme of Halloween and costume shops, I’d consider myself somewhat of an expert. I have been to most of the local pop up shops and the year round costume stores here in Charleston and in Myrtle Beach and Hokus Pokus is my favorite.
This is a great family owned shop with a wide selection. My only complaint is that it is in such an old building and seems a bit dark when you enter. Despite that, once you are inside the staff are very helpful and will do everything they can to help you find exactly what you are looking for.
They have a huge selection of your typical bagged costumes as well as accessories. I have purchased many items from them and been very satisfied with the quality. The one time I had a pair of gloves tear they replaced them. They don’t take returns or exchanges, but completely understood that they item was defective and replaced it.
They have a very large selection of boas and they are really high Vegas style quality. If you are ever in the market for a beautiful feather boa, this is your place! They also have a great selection of costume wigs. Unlike the big box stores they also sell used clothing that can double as a costume (i.e. old prom dresses and «vintage» clothing). They also are sure to stock their front area with whatever relevant holiday is coming up which is very convenient.
They have a lot of parking in the adjacent lot and it’s easy to get in and out of.
Overall it’s the best place to fill your year round costume needs!

I don’t always go to costume shops, but when I do… I like to find the ones that are open year round as opposed to the fly by night Halloween pop up shops. They typically have better customer service and not just price gouging you for a quick fix before they close up shop til next year. These places actually care to earn your business and your loyalty.
The store is extremely well organized and the staff was excessively helpful. The prices seemed to be a little cheaper than others and I will definitely keep them in mind when I need some prop item or costume accessory.
