I am no stranger to antiques. While I’m a mere 32 years old, I have a houseful of antiques and fabulous furniture(hitchcock/henkel harris/hickory chair), so I’d like to think I know my stuff. I mean, how many people do you know chose a Hitchcock furniture set as their first bedroom set at the age of 6? My husband and I happened into this shop in Charleston this weekend hoping to look around and maybe talk shop with the people. The shop owners not only didn’t acknowledge our presence, they also have ridiculously priced antiques. Being from another antiquing capital of the US(the Delaware River valley– aka Bucks County, PA), I know these prices were a bit outrageous. If you have the money to blow because you want a one-stop hassle free shop, go here. If you’d like a more approachable place, skip it all together.

Give this place a $$$$$ rating. The prices are ridiculous, on many levels.($ 28K grandfather clocks, $ 9K wooden chairs, $ 700 walking sticks) I’m not sure who shops here, except for high-priced designers, who hopefully get a discount. And the many«do not touch» signs give the place a warmth that says«Welcome! Now spend some money or get the f**k out.» If you use a wheelchair or other assistive device consider elsewhere. The walkways are narrow requiring you to turn sideways to walk among the contents.
