It was 2:30pm on a Friday when I discovered that our ceiling was leaking right in front of my desk (and luckily, it wasn’t right above my desk as that would’ve suuuuuccckkked). Initially we thought the leak was due to some pipes running through the ceilings. However, after having a plumber confirm it wasn’t and that it was actually our HVAC unit, panic ensued because it was now 4pm on a Friday and there was an increasingly amount of water falling from our ceiling. We were literally putting down plastic bags and setting out bowls to try to catch the water.
So I start calling around trying to get an HVAC service person out to our office ASAP since there was no way we could feel comfortable leaving this situation the way it was over the weekend. I called three different places with each person acting like I was insane if I expected to have someone out to my office anytime before Monday. Two people, and I’m not joking, actually laughed at me. I even pointed out that they stated 24hr emergency service on their website but apparently that only applies if you’re a current customer with them (way to leave someone hanging in their time of need!).
Just when I was ready to throw in the towel and would’ve been fine with our whole ceiling collapsing on us, I called East Cooper. The girl I spoke to was nice and sympathetic and after putting me on hold to see if there was any way they could help us, she came back to tell me that we should cut off our unit to try to prevent any further water accumulating and someone will meet me at my office first thing in the morning. Sold! And the next morning, maybe an hour later, we were back in business. So thanks East Cooper for not being yet another person to laugh at me and treat me like I’m some crazy person in a time of crisis.

I just used East Cooper H&A for a big install downtown. They had to meet a very strict timeline and did under very tough conditions I highly recommend.
