Best comic book shop in Charleston(so far the only one I’ve been to). I honestly don’t plan on looking for another spot to meet my needs. This one has a great selection, friendly and attentive staff, and although they seemed a little nervous that my kids were touching the toys, they were very friendly with them and interacted with us 100% in a great way. I’ll be back.

Stop through for new books, back issues, trades, action figures, statues, and good conversation. You leaving this spot with lighter pockets, but a brighter mind. You’ll see Jeff working special events here, and you’ll usually spot lots of homies on Wednesdays scooping new issues. Don’t sleep on the collectible toon tumblers, you too could sip blue cream soda out a Beast from X-Men cup. Get clued in, check the Street Fighter bin.

This place isn’t too badly stocked and carries a good array of back issues and books. As toys go, I was a bit let down by the Transformers selection. The G1s were seriously overpriced(you can get the same items in same or better condition on Ebay for a third of Captains’ asking price). Collectors should skip this joint, although you might find more recently-released items for a deal here.

Captain’s Comic’s is a great place for a person who is new to comics, an old time expert, or someone like me who is getting back into comics after a long break. My wife wanted to buy me some graphic novels and get me back into comics again — Mike was very helpful answering all of her questions without hesitation. Mike and his staff always greet us when we walk in and have always been extremely helpful to us. This is not the kind of shop where you get looked down on because you don’t know the name of Superman’s dog or the caliber of the ammo used in The Punisher’s original Battle Van. The subscription program is very nice and I highly recommend it to anyone. The store also features a very wide selection of comics and collectibles. You could spend hours looking through the back issues available.

Captian’s Comics has a little of everything for any person that is intrested in comic books, comic related toys and collectables, and comic supplies. They have a large selection of back issues that are in good shape and a decent price. They also have a large collection of current and recent comic issues from DC, Marvel, IDW, Dynamite, and other Indies series comics. If they don’t have what you are looking for just talk to any of their friendly staff and they will be able to help you in trying to order it through there distributor or make note of it in case they come across it in the future. This would be one of my stops for looking for back issues.

This place is a great stop for anyone even mildly interested in comics. There is quite a selection contained in this small shop. I’ve been wanting to stop in here for over a month and was not disappointed when I finally did. The store is clean and extremely organized. The staff is very knowledgeable of their products. It’s a nice friendly atmosphere with a lot of great finds.
