Great food on Fridays. I wish the do crab legs all weekend, Fri. Sat. Sun and maybe even Mondays. To many pork/bacon dishes. They should do more other meats. Frash cut fruits will be nice. A little pricy.

Went to Epic Buffet today around 3pm(Sunday) EVERYTHINGWASCOLD… I mean EVERYTHING! Nothing seemed fresh. Bread was hard and cold. Collards used to be fresh, now they’re from a can. Desserts no longer what they used to be – looks like they were brought in and not freshly baked. I was last there during Thanksgiving 2011 and boyy what a difference. Food was great back then! 17.99 plus tax today and I live 45 minutes from that place. What a disappointment. Will try again early in the day on a weekday to see if it’s any different. Today was just not what I expected.

If you like deep fried fish, you might like Epic. I could not cut the beef or even chew much of the fried food. Not my cup of tea. Will try a different restaurant next time.

Unilocal! has a limitation of how many characters you can write in a review. It is set at 5000. So, in order for you to read my whole review, I have had to post it as photos. SEEATTACHED Now that I’ve had a few days to calm down, I think I’m emotionally ready to write my review. Please bear with me. On July 4th, 2015 a little after 6pm, my buddy and I visited the casino at Charles Town. Instead of gambling on a empty stomach we mutually decided to hit the buffet first. We each paid $ 26 and change to get into the buffet. We were guided to a table, only two rows back from the right side of the buffet. Each of us got up and grabbed a plate. I walked over and scooped up two large spoons of fried rice and some mussels, then grabbed a roll at the other end of the buffet line, and sat down. My buddy was already eating at the table when I got there. I sat down, ate all the mussels except for one that wasn’t opened up. I started eating the rice. On my second bite of the rice, I felt something sharp in my mouth. I reached up to my mouth and with my right hand pulled out an object that resembled a cat’s canine tooth. You know those four fangs cat have? This object looked just like one. It was sharp at one end, whitish color in appearance with a hint of light purple on one end. The object was larger than a quarter of an inch but less then a half an inch in size. After I took it out of my mouth, I set it down to the right side of my plate. Eager to start on my second plate, I stood up and began walking to where the plates are kept. At that time, our waitress as me if everything was alright with my meal. A routine question. I discreetly began telling her that I found something odd in my food. While I was wrapping up my dialog with her, she called out to a female in a black suit who was walking by a few tables over. The female in the suit began acting very nervous. She asked me what happened and I told her. She asked me what type of food was the item I found in. I told her the fried rice served on the far left of the buffet line up against the wall. She then ordered me to stay at the table. She then repeated herself while slightly raising her voice. I felt like a child again being scolded by a parent. Here I am hungry as hell and this lady has the nerve to order me to stay at the table. O hell no! She stood a few yards away from my table. I walked up to her as she was talking to somebody on her mic system and told her, I was going to get another plate of food. I’m not going to fricken sit there in a restaurant while I’m hungry and not eat, specially after I already paid for the damn stuff. So, I did precisely that. I returned to our table. The female in the suit came back over and introduced me to another female, also in a suit. Her name was Elizabeth. Elizabeth was standing to my immediate left. The first female in the suit left the table and walked out of view. Elizabeth asked me what happened, I told her I was eating and I found this foreign object in my mouth. I picked it up with my right hand and placed it to the left side of my plate. She then picked it up, examined it, then placed it back on the table where she withdrew a camera from her suit jacket and took a photo of the object. She then pulled out a small beige in color 2“x3″(approximate size) envelope. Then she placed the item in the envelope. She handed me a clip board with a incident report form on it and asked me to detail my experience. With the pen she handed me, I did exactly that. A male chef wearing a tall white chef’s hat approached our table. Elizabeth showed him the item. He said that he thought it was a grain of jasmine rice. And he handed the item back to Elizabeth and left. Elizabeth said something like«well, that doesn’t look like jasmine rice to me». And I said, that’s because it wasn’t. I certainly know the difference because I happen to cook it weekly at home. My buddy hadn’t started eating his fried rice yet and Elizabeth asked him if he was still going to. He just kinda raised and lowered his shoulders and smiled. I handed Elizabeth back the clip board after I signed my statement. I believe the time was approximately 6:30 pm at this point. She then left our table. My friend and I began talking about the incident. I really felt like they didn’t give a rats ass about how I felt, only that their precious food was okay. They seemed more interested in the food chain than me. The chef made a few statements to Elizabeth while he was there about where that food comes from, how it’s prepared and so on. So, my impression was that not only was it in his opinion, a grain of jasmine rice, it may have actually been introduced into their food before it was packaged. ENDOFPART1OF2

My husband and i are local so we frequently eat here while playing the slots. Today was by far the WORST dining experience we have ever had here. The food quality has gone so down hill you are better off taking the 15.99 per person price and going down the street. The chef and manager both came out to hear our concern about how bad the food was and although were overly pleasant didnt offer to comp any part of our meal. The pork roast was like dried shoe leather and the roasted Brussel sprouts were most definitely left over from the night before. The only saving grace of the whole meal was the phở bar. but then again how hard is 2 screw up broth and noodles?

This was my second visit and this place has definitely gone down since my first visit a few years back. Maybe I went on the wrong night? Won’t be going back. Went on a Friday night, wanting to treat my mom to all you can eat crab legs($ 35 pp). The crab legs were good and plentiful but the rest of the food was bad. Maybe they put out better food on the nights they don’t offer crab legs? Idk. You could get better quality food at Golden Corral. Crab legs were good. Desserts were decent(better than the food). Service was great.

We had the all you can eat buffet last night. Crab legs @ $ 34.99. In my opinion, The food was bland. The soups weren’t seasoned, it seems that all the desserts were not fresh baked there, salads not all that. We will never go back to the Epic Buffet again. Try one of the many other food establishments. Even if the buffet was $ 14.99 I wouldn’t go back.

For a buffet, this place is a lot more epic than an old country buffet but its one of the worst casino buffets I’ve been too in terms of food quality. The desserts tasted boxed, the food was tasteless and cold. The wait staff was amazing though just like they were in the casino. I recommend not coming here unless you’ve got a coupon, for $ 26 per person, this place is not worth it. They should charge around $ 10 for the quality of food they have.

First time at the Hollywood Casinos to check out their Epic Buffet(Saturday around 1:00 pm). You have to walk thru the casino, pass the food court area, then the Epic Buffet is in the far right corner. It was extremely smokey from all the cigarettes — nasty! The food court and restaurants are non-smoking, but there is still some smoke odor in these areas. The lunch buffet is only $ 15.99 including beverages. The food selections were satisfactory — carving station with sirloin roast and ham, pizza and Italian section, fried seafood, Asian section, Southern fare, Mexican fare, salad bar, many side dishes and a dessert bar with ice cream, bread pudding, pies, cheesecake, cakes, cookies, cream puffs, chocolate fondue, etc. Also, a small selection of sugar-free desserts. Everything we tried was decent. Our server, Ashley, was absolutely wonderful and very sweet. The décor is beautiful and comfortable seating. Since it is only accessible through the Casino, no one under 21 is allowed. That is actually a plus, no crying, yelling babies or toddlers. Also, did not have to worry about children contaminating the food with their hands.

Once or twice for the past few years I have been making the long trip to go to the Hollywood Casino. Every time I have gone to the Hollywood Casino, I haven eaten at the Epic Buffet. This is the first time I have had a chance to write an official review. How did my experience go? To find out read below. The Good: Price– This review is a reflection of the Lunch prices, which were $ 15.99 per person. While that may seem like a lot of money, it is mild in comparison to the prices that other restaurants set in the casino. Most dishes served elsewhere in the casino run about $ 10 and there is no all you can eat option. With the price of the buffet, drinks are included. Service– Every single time I have gone to this buffet, the service has been spectacular. Servers are friendly, going out of the way and above/beyond the call of duty to ensure that the customer is satisfied. The Bad: Variety– For the lunch menu, there were only a few items to choose from in comparison to a buffet like Golden Corral. As far as meats go, there was fried chicken, fried cod, baked tilapia, roast beef and General Tso’s chicken. For veggies, there was sautéed string beans and cabbage. Other items on the menu was mac n cheese, pizza, fried rice and mashed potatoes to name a few things. Golden Corral has 3 times as many options as were offered on this menu and for a cheaper price. Taste– Most of the dishes lacked seasoning, particularly the fried chicken. Most of the food options that I chose were also old and dry. Overall– For a casino buffet, its not bad. But when comparing it to other more reputable buffet’s it lacks behind in major ways. The service is great, but food quality could stand some improvement. TWOSTARS.

This is an okay buffet. Very well stocked with fresh ingredients and wholesome, tasty food. If you only go for the pot roast, it’s worth the $ 20 bucks! The pot roast was the tastiest I’ve every had! Full of tender meat, carrots, potatoes, and loads of onions. The gravy was plentiful and went perfectly with the nearby red mashed potatoes. I liked the salad bar and soups. The desserts were the best I’ve ever had on a buffet. Definitely worth the ride out to the casino!

My wife and I have been to the Charlestown casino in West Virginia two times. We wanted to try this place out the first time however because of certains things that had transpired we decided to leave(long story that isn’t for Unilocal). Well luckily low my wife and I decided to make a second trip to the Charlestown casino and we absolutely knew that this second time we were not going to leave until we’ve tried this place. Like all buffets the price and foods vary depending on the day you decide to come. We came here on a Saturday and it was approximately $ 25 dollars per person not including tip(I may be a few bucks off, so just be sure to have sone reserve cash just in case lol). I did my best to try everything that I could before my stomach started swelling but of course that didn’t happen. However, everything that I was able to put down was actually pretty darn good. One item that my wife and I couldn’t stop talking about after we left with our bellies getting ready to burst was the Pot Roast. Everything about that dish was awesome. The beef in that roast was tender thay I think even a baby with teeth could eat it(that statement might be a bit out there but I think you guys know what I’m trying to say). All in all I’m glad we went to this Charlestown casino a second time and tried this buffet out because I was not disappointed at all. I mean there is so much there to choose from, that I think any sensible foodie would not give this place anything lesser than a three star rating. If you decide to go ENJOY!

This place has gone downhill since my last visit. The price has gone up and the quality has gone down. The carving station meats were either very fatty such as the prime rib or dry like the turkey. Otherwise most of the food was mediocre, with the exception of the peel n’ eat shrimp and desserts which were worth trying. This place has gone from Epic to an overpriced Golden Corral. Not terrible but not worth the $ 22 dinner price on a Saturday night.

Did I eat at the same restaurant as these other reviewers? I usually swear by the Unilocal reviews, but I found Epic Buffet to be way off! There were some highs though… The décor is lovely, tall ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, modern sculpsures and unique seating. The color scheme and design is really quite nice. It is also non smoking which is a welcome change in the normally smoke filled casino. The staff was so nice. We had a older woman waitress who was really a joy to talk to and she made sure our table was clear, our drinks were full, and she even sent us off with«to go» cups so we had something to sip on while putting around the slots. The food… ah, the low point. What a variety, too bad it all sucked. Everything was luke warm at best. The roast beef was gray and dried out. The mashed potatos were instant and were pretty much like paste. The clam strips quite possible could have broken a tooth. Every thing seemed dried up and basically old. I would have never paid the money for this place if I had known the true quality of the food. I also read the price of the buffet was about $ 16.00… well, on Saturday at 6:30, the cost was $ 25.00 per person, and that food was hardly worth that at all! I’ll be choosing another place to dine next time; I just wasn’t overly impressed with the food. Such a shame too since the service is so wonderful!

Stayed in town overnight to watch the live horse racing. Wanted to eat at the Casino instead of driving around so we planned to eat at the Epic Buffet, despite the mixed reviews on Unilocal and a somewhat negative response when we asked an employee at the track how the food was. Hey, it’s a buffet, we can find SOMETHING good right? RIGHT! The space itself is beautiful with high ceilings and chandeliers. Sizeable salad bar(did not partake of this), and two long sections of hot foods. We were there on a Saturday night which was billed as Prime Rib and Seafood night. Chilled shrimp on the cold bar and hot butterflied fried shrimp on the hot bar. The fried shrimp were definitely good! The Hong Kong Pork Chop deserved a second helping. Vegetable offerings included brussel sprouts, green beans and corn — all unseasoned but tasted very fresh. There were also some Italian and Chinese style selections as well as some other fried foods like oysters and hushpuppies. And yeast rolls… ohhhhh, the yeast rolls. We were too full to try anything from the dessert bar, but again, there was a huge selection. The service was top notch. We left very satisfied.

The last time I went to Charlestown, I went to Jumbo Buffet — you’ve seen it, it’s that shady Chinese buffet about a mile from the casino. As you can imagine, I got some«minor» food poisoning… the squirts to be exact. That being said, the next time I go to Charlestown, I would go back to Jumbo Buffet over Epic Buffet. I walk into Jumbo Buffet and know what I’m getting. I walk into Epic Buffet and by god, they get me every time! The sense of betrayal I feel when I realize the extent of the false advertising being perpetrated… it’s infuriating. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me for the fifth time, I’m an idiot lets go to McDonalds. Here’s a breakdown of their buffet offerings. The food that should have a crunch is always soft, the food that should be soft always has a crunch. Pick whatever you think looks good — it all tastes the same; bland, boring, and pretty much a general departure from every descriptive word for quality imaginable. Overall a disaster of a buffet. The people that give this place anything above a 1 either work for the casino or have no real frame of reference. They probably give Old Country Buffet 5 stars. The only bright spot is there is a pretty good desert selection. Wow, that was therapeutic.

We may not be able to be in Vegas, but we can still eat like it… Or so was our plan. Overall, this was an a-ok buffet. Thankfully, despite it being Thanksgiving, there was no line for the buffet. Literally, no line. And for about $ 25 each, we were both in and ready to stuff ourselves full. We were promptly seated and our waitress was there instantly. She took our drink order, gave us a quick tour of the buffet area, and offered her suggestions. No alcohol available, but they did have a giant and delicious sweet tea that tied me over easily. The buffet was large enough. Not quite Vegas-size, but there was plenty to choose from. The salad and dessert bars had good selections. There was a carving station. And then there was a little of lots of things — Chinese, sushi, BBQ, Italian, etc. And, of course, there were some of the Thanksgiving classics like turkey and mashed potatoes. For being a Thanksgiving buffet — and costing about $ 10 more than usual — I was expecting more Thanksgiving-ness. But no, that wasn’t the case. No cranberry sauce, no sweet potatoes, etc. It just didn’t feel Thanksgiving the way Vegas buffets do. Overall, it was a nice experience. It’s no award-winning buffet, but it hit the spot.

Epic buffet is epic. The amount of food made me happy. They have prime rib and a bunch of the typical buffet fixins. They had crawfish, clams, and shrimp. The shrimp was lame, but the clams were tasty. It’s a buffet, so some things have to be off. That is simply the rule of the buffet land. They had a Chinese food buffet with the typical Chinese food fare. It was a nice addition. The cool portion was the phở bar. That was kind of a huh? moment for me. The phở bar is actually quite lovely. It isn’t top knotch phở, but it is pretty good considering the location. The desserts are fancy, but the ice cream is simply liquid, so skip that portion. The crème brûlée was awesome! That kind of threw me off a little bit, but bravo on the crème brûlée. I’d go back on my next trip to the casino.

~$ 15 on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a pretty good deal. They had a wide range of foods. Although most of the foods were deep fried, they did have some healthier options like grilled asparagus and a salad bar. The desserts were really good. So good, I’m pretty sure I would pay $ 15 for an all you can eat dessert bar. Service was really good too. I would definitely come back again. Oh yeah, they had a Phở bar too. I didn’t get it, but from what I hear I didn’t miss much.
