Salatino’s River House

This place is amazing. The only thing I regret is not trying it sooner. We have eaten there twice in the last two weeks, and not only is every thing they have amazing, everyone is so nice! The waitresses we had we’re superb. I even ordered my sandwich incorrectly and meant to tell her turkey. She still fixed it for me immediately and said it was no problem. The fish my fiancé said was as good as Texas (he is from Texas). It’s haddock and I also tried it not being a fish person and I loved it! The calzones are humongous and delish! Haven’t had anything we didn’t like yet. Even my margarita was yummy! I can’t wait to go back! Such a large variety of food from meatloaf, pot roast, sandwiches and burgers, salads, pasta and seafood!

Never have a bad meal here. The owners are great, the staff is great! Their pot roast is amazing. Reubens is a great sandwich also! Puzza, try the seafood pizza it’s delicious! Glad to have a great restaurant in the Valley!

Very good food! Mostly! The chicken Romano is delicious. The mashed potatoes are blah. Tasteless. Pizza is very good! Service was good and waitress was efficient but not memorable. I would go back.

Salatinos is another hidden gem of the Mon Valley. Located in what I believe was an old furniture display store, the layout is massive! With an open floor plan, a beautiful bar offering hundreds of craft beers and a separate «party» area, this place has all you’d need for a great time out. The menu is rather large, almost overwhelming as it takes a full 10 minutes to actually look it all over and an additional 5 to narrow down your selections. The service is always top notch with attentive servers who tend to you without «hovering». (Example: They always keep my drink filled without interrupting to ask if I need more water in an empty glass). I’ve always loved the pistachio crusted salmon but as of lately it hasn’t been as good as normal (possibly a new supplier?). It’s also a really great place to eat with children as the staff ensures they’re occupied with crayons & coloring books. Overall a really great place with great staff and good food.

Definitely on the return list! I had a delicious and perfectly cooked porterhouse steak and my wife had the equally as wonderful Tuscan Chicken. Can’t go wrong here. If you’ve never been to Charleroi this place might be your reason to make the trip!

Stopped based on reviews… the bartenders were very busy… but handling the bar… only saw ONE server on the floor which perhaps is 3 times the size of the bar area with 3 times the amount of tables… ordered a couple drinks which were very well made and generous… ordered an appetizer, which was simple because it was fried… when it came out it was more than expected… but it was an little more than warm… when I asked how it was I said good but only warm, which meant the appetizer had sat and had cooled off considerably… the bartender said they had watched it cooked and said it was hot when it was put up for delivery… but I know there was not adequate help, the bartender had to do to do double duty! If the restaurant can not afford the necessary help… then they need to do one of two things… have adequate help for a busy Friday night or only open sections where one floor server can handle and also help the bar staff deliver food to patrons at the bar… the third choice, well you make that conclusion based on the quality of service and/​or food!

Great service, great décor, and great pizza. It’s not too far off I-​70. Really great surprise.

I’ve recently moved to the Charleroi area, and have had Riverhouse twice already.
The first visit my mom and I went for a sit down lunch. We each ordered the half sandwich, soup, and side salad special. We chose the half Italian hoagie. It was huge and absolutely delicious. We both also had the clam chowder which was wonderful and the Caesar salad which was fresh and crunchy.
The second time I ordered delivery for my husband and I. I chose the chicken parm. It was decent. The chicken was a little over-​cooked, but it was a huge piece of chicken. It does not come with pasta so I ordered pasta as one of my two sides. The pasta was cooked well and the sauce tasted good. Although, they went a little light on the sauce. I again had the Caesar side salad and it was fresh. My husband had the meatloaf dinner. He liked the meatloaf, but stated the gravy was a little bland. All in all it was still a good meal and we will continue to visit Riverhouse.

Celebrated my mom’s 66^th bday here just yesterday. We have been here in the past and the food and service is always awesome! This day was no different. I will start by saying it is in downtown Charleroi. There is plenty of parking near by which is always a bonus. The interior is huge which is nice because you are not cramped and bumping into other diners. Our server was prompt and absolutely wonderful! I can not remember her name though. Our drinks were never empty and she made sure we had everything we needed, checking on us frequently but not intrusively so. We got apps including the root beer BBQ wings. Oh my! The sauce was just fabulous! Tasty, not too sweet and the wings themselves were HUGE! They were also perfectly cooked with a nice crisp coating. The fam also got fried pickles. I did not have any but they loved them. We also got the pub fries which are fries in olive oil with rosemary and parm cheese also delightful. Most of us got the turkey sandwich. It was Thanksgiving on bread. Delicious! It was wonderfully thin sliced turkey with lettuce and a wonderful cranberry relish made with real cranberries. It was just tasty! I got sweet potato fries. The hubby got the Italian hoagie and was a little disappointed in the size. That’s why they don’t get a 5 star. My mom got the chicken spinach wrap and enjoyed it immensely. Overall wonderful dining experience from start to finish. And their prices are reasonable as well whch is always a bonus! We will got there again for sure. If you are ever in the area, I would recommend it as would my family.

Nice spot in downtown Charleroi. Came in for lunch with a business crew and were promptly seated and attended to.
Then came the food… which was surprisingly really good and plentiful, too! The gyro I had was packed with tons of meat and was quickly devoured. The rest of the gang ordered calzones.
Needless to say, everyone joined «the clean plate club» and enjoyed their food. Given the bar space, this might not be a bad after hours place, either.
All in all, good stop. If you’re in the area, check it out… it’s good eats!
