Beautiful Gallery! Seems out of place in this rundown Mall! Interior and Huge Glass Front is a Work of Art itself ! Paintings displayed Tastefully, Clean, Bright White! This is a Showplace!

While I’m admittedly no expert, I enjoy browsing art galleries and I’ve been to a ton. That said, Tyndall Galleries is one of Chapel Hill’s finest spaces for viewing and purchasing art. The gallery was located in Brightleaf Square for over a decade, only recently moving to University Mall. I never visited them in Durham, but the University Mall location is spacious, clean, and modern. The frequently changing exhibits feature paintings, tapestries, and sculptures, but all works fit within the «contemporary American art» designation. The staff is helpful but also seems to understand that not everyone who walks in the door is going to drop thousands on a piece of art. I walked through in jeans and a ratty t-​shirt once and never felt like I was being judged or shooed away.
