April is professional, but also very warm and welcoming. She first goes through routine questions: medical history, current skin care regimen, etc. and then tells you about the services she provides. Together, you make a decision of what you think is best your first time there. She was an absolute delight, not stuffy like many of the spas I’ve been to, and also not so casual that you feel she’s not a professional. I got a vibraderm treatment, and so far I’m very impressed. I’ve already sung her praises to all my friends and will definitely be back to see her.

Words can not describe how amazing April is! She is not just extremely knowledgeable about the skin care industry, but she is very invested, and will spend so much time with you learning about your skin, listening to your concerns, and giving you advice. She is also very cautious, and can treat any kind of skin type wonderfully. I’ve gone to her for a couple of peels, and brought my mother once, and the experience is always wonderful. She is just a lovely, lovely person, a talented esthetician, and I am SO glad she moved to Chapel Hill as I am so much closer to her now! Definitely check Skin Deep out ASAP! :) Also…I just wanted to add that her prices are the best you can find! Salicylic acid peels are $ 60! That’s definitely the lowest price you will find in this area!

I’ve become acquainted with April at Skin Deep through a Living Social deal for vibradermabrasion and chemical peel. So far, I’ve only had the vibraderm, but I felt that April was very knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge. She also recommended inexpensive products that are available in any healthfood or drugstore(Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap for cleansing and Cetaphil daily moisturizer were the ones I latched onto and subsequently purchased), instead of the very expensive products most spas recommend and sell. The expensive ones are probably great, but I’d like a guarantee if I’m paying $ 100+, especially if something much cheaper can do almost as good a job. After my vibraderm treatment, I got a compliment on how good my skin looked, from someone who didn’t know I’d had the treatment! I’m looking forward to the chemical peel(sounds odd) and have also scheduled a facial. The prices are quite reasonable for such services, even without a LivingSocial deal, and she lists them right up front on the website( ). Oh, and April has radiant skin herself and isn’t 20 years old, so she’s an excellent ad for her own services.

I have been to Skin Deep once a month for the past 4 months. I was lucky enough to grab a Living Social deal for facials. When I first went in, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d never had a facial before and was SEVERELY depressed with my skin. I tried pretty much everything under the sun to cure my acne(even Proactiv) with no luck at all. I didn’t expect much when I met April at Skin Deep, but I was desperate. On my first visit, April asked a lot of questions, like which products I used and how long I’ve had issues. She realized that I was battling hormonal acne due to my PCOS(Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and right away she created a plan of action. April told me what to expect and how to take care of my skin afterward. She even went so far as to recommend cruelty-free products for my skin, knowing that I’m vegetarian. She never pushed any products on me, and gave me sound advice taken from her years of experience. My first facial felt refreshing, and I noticed a lot less acne that month. My second facial was great, and I could feel and see my skin improving. After my third facial, I had NOBREAKOUTS. NONE. And my old scars even faded! I am still amazed. I know for certain that April’s knowledge and attention to detail are the sole reason my skin looks so good. I HIGHLY recommend Skin Deep to everyone who wants to look their best. Also, on a side note, you may notice on the website that Skin Deep specializes in Ethnic Skin — I have to say that I’m white and April knew exactly what my skin needed. I’d be shocked if she couldn’t handle every skin type on earth. Skin Deep is so reasonably priced that I can’t imagine why anyone would go somewhere else.
