Generally good food, but has been inconsistent — last time we were here everything was extremely salty. The pitas used in the wraps are the best, and the meats are well-grilled. I suggest asking for the sauce on the side though. They always give you a big pile of fresh fries with a wrap — just wish they offered something more interesting than ketchup to go with them. Prices are on the high side.

The Pita Grill is a great little restaurant. Family owned and very friendly. The food is fresh and hot — the French fries are some of the best I’ve ever had! The gyros are the authentic shaved rotisserie style and the pitas are just plain fluffy! Lots of good choices on the menu and everything is very reasonably priced.

Not the best and not the worst Mediterranean place that I’ve been to. I’ve stopped by a couple of times for lunch, though mainly due to Pita Grill’s proximity to my house. You can tell a lot about a Mediterranean restaurant by the quality of their hummus and pita, and I find the hummus here to be a little lumpy and too sour for my liking. The pita is scrumptious and tasty though — just the ideal amount of softness mixed with crunchiness — so definitely add some bonus points for that. I would say that Pita Grill is on the pricier side. A decently filling lunch can be anywhere from $ 8 to $ 15, which is definitely higher than many other Mediterranean restaurants that I have been to of similar quality. The gyro platters are pretty large, coming with the gyro and fries on the side. Though the fries are«basic»(nothing special), the lamb can be tasty, says a friend of mine. He says that he’s been to Pita Grill a couple of times and has ordered the same thing both times, but each time has been a little different — the first time, the lamb was cooked perfectly, but the second time, it was a little dry. Not sure if this inconsistency was just a one-time case or not, so I guess we may have to come back to find out. The store is pretty large and spacious, so there usually isn’t any trouble finding a seat. I love that there’s lot of natural lighting as well. And being the only mediterranean food restaurant in the area, it definitely does satisfy when a craving arises. Overall, decent mediterranean food for an above average price, but still pretty tasty!

Best gyro you can get in the triangle and best service. I used to frequent the Mediterranean grill on Franklin Street, but after going here I can say that the food there is bland. The flavors here are very well developed and you’re not going to find another place quite like this one.

I just love their falafel, the best I’ve ever had… Nice and clean place and very good service… Will try their other menu next time.

So stingy! I bought an order of hummus and pita. They gave me 6 small pieces of extremely greasy pita bread. For $ 5.50 I thought this was ridiculous.

We eat here at least once a week and have since they opened. The chicken souvlaki wrap is hands down the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had anywhere. We love to come here as a family because my husband can get mediterranean food, I can get a chicken sandwich, and our picky kids can get steak and cheese. The family that runs the place is friendly and we often sit at the counter just to visit with them. I bring all of my lunch appointments here just to introduce people to the awesome. If you want great food at a great price served by great people, this is the place for you.

Gyro/shawarma was not up to par compared to some of other ones I have tried. Meat was excessively spicy. Meal served with fries that just don’t taste good.

More vegetarian tolerant than vegetarian friendly. That said, everything was delicious. Everything clearly made fresh. Service was excellent, too. We look forward to going back.

Good service, food was not bad. Owner was nice, place was clean. Presentation could be improved and prices are a bit high for the quility and seating.

CUSTOMERSBEWARE! I’ve gone to this location for multiple years, even before it was called ‘Pita Grill’(it used to go by the name J & J’s Deli.) I recently moved back into town and this is the second encounter I’ve had with them under the new name. I have traditionally purchased the Gyro Wrap(which is a traditional Gyro with a side of fries). The wrap itself is pretty tasty, overloaded with tzatziki sauce which is how I prefer it. The staff is normally friendly, polite and the service is fast. The fries are bland but good if you dip them in something. It appears that all of this would all add up to a ‘4 or 5 star’ review, but unfortunately, that is not the case anymore. Yesterday(October 20, 2014) I went in and purchased 2 of the usual orders, they tasted delicious as usual and I even converted my girlfriend to their flavors. This is where the good times end and the massive headache begins. The problem arrises with an error in transaction and how the staff handled the problem. My order came to just over $ 19 and I went home to eat it without a second thought. however, the next day my gut told me to check my bank account. In here I found an additional charge of $ 119 on my account from Pita Grill. I immediately got in my car and headed over to the location to find out what was going on. When I approached management /ownership with my problem they immediately responded with«Oh yeah, we voided that yesterday… you should have your money back in a week or so…» Two problems stem from this: 1) I was in the restaurant and watched the manager use the credit card machine to type in my transaction, which means that he had ample time to inform me of this mistake while I was still in the restaurant. Instead, I had to find this out on my own through my own investigation. This blatant attempt to ‘sweep my problem under the rug’ does not sit well with me. Now, maybe I’m wrong… maybe this error didn’t happen until after I left… so with the benefit of the doubt in full effect, this leads me to the second problem. 2) I got absolutely no sympathy from management when I approached them about this issue today. Essentially they chalked the entire situation up to a «whoops, you know this has actually happened multiple times before… it’s even been for $ 2−300+ in errors for other customers.» they said. Oh great, that makes me feel better!(sarcasm) The explanation given to me was«the buttons are so close together on the credit card processor that this mistake is a frequent one». I got zero attempt from them to remedy this massive headache and absolutely no mention of any sort of accommodations for my troubles. No mention of a coupon, comp’d meals, absolutely nothing to try and keep my business. I never mentioned any of these options to them(as I also work in customer service and didn’t want to appear as if I was ‘gold digging’ this problem), as I hoped they would know better to try and do SOMETHING to keep a long time customer happy. Instead, all I got was blank stares and a «uhhhh, i don’t know what you want me to do… call your bank and figure it out.» response. Mind you, I was dealing directly with the owner and the managers throughout this whole process… they had the power to offer something /anything for the trouble… honestly the thought is what would have counted in this situation. As a college student, this is very troubling to have roughly $ 150 bled from my account for 2 sandwiches. I understand that ‘voids to purchases’ can take a few days to complete and that’s fine, what’s not fine is expecting me to understand that because«this happens more often here than you’d guess, so you should just trust us that you’ll get your money back… sometime…maybe soon?» is not an acceptable answer to this problem. I’m shocked at their total ignorance towards customer satisfaction and because of this, I will will never come back to this location again(which is a bummer.) My recommendation to customers, don’t eat here unless you are carrying cash… otherwise you might be out $ 100, $ 200 or possibly even a $ 1000+ for your meal the next time their«fingers slip». This is beyond unacceptable, on so many levels. Pita Grill, if you’re going to make a mistake, own up to it at the time of the mistake… don’t sweep it under the rug and hope the customers bank account is too big to notice… AND/OR when this inevitably happens again, offer SOMETHING to make their troubles a little less pronounced. It’s not easy being a college student on a budget. Regardless if I get refunded, a roughly $ 150 hit to my account was not in the budget… pending or void… the transaction is active on my account and there’s nothing my bank(or any other) can do until it processes. This is only my «2 cents» and it’ll be the last time you get any of my ‘money’.

The chicken souvlaki was very good, and the pita excellent. There was something wrong with the french fries which tasted like the oil was either rancid, or the wrong type of oil. I complained about the fries, and received poor feedback from the waiter. I got home, and got sick to my stomach. I called back and spoke with the same waiter who is an owner, and he told me «I am the only one to complain». Great customer service feedback-NOT! I told him I was feeling sick to my stomach from it, and he hung up on me. First and last visit to Pita Grill. Eat at your own risk!

I am so glad boyfriend and I skipped the crowded Mediterranean places on Franklin and found this little gem! We both ordered chicken souvlaki, his with modifications, mine straight from the menu, and both were exactly what we were hunting for. The food was delicious and fresh. We were told everything was homemade. The negatives? –I would have liked to have been offered a choice of sides. Crinkle cut fries aren’t my thing. A side salad, pita and hummus, or even chips would have been an alternative. –The tzatziki sauce was a little watery but very tasty and homemade. –The restaurant décor was terrible! But we loved the music playing in the background. For about $ 22 plus tip we got a great and hearty meal. We will definitely be back soon.

First time customer. For lunch I ordered a house salad and a soda. Salad was really plain. A few tomatoes, olives, green peppers… Was surprised my check was over $ 9. I am guessing I was charged $ 3.50 for the 20oz Dt Pepsi???

Finding this little café tucked into Timberlyne was a pleasant surprise. We wanted a quick meal on our way out of town and we despise fast food stops. While everything here is made fresh and to order, we were still on our way, food in the bag, within 10 minutes. We tried the falafel wrap. The falafels had a nice crunch on the outside while being moist and flavorful on the inside. The pita was warm, soft, deliciously fresh. We also tried the rice pudding. We enjoyed it, too, but would have liked it more if it were less sweet. The owners are friendly and dedicated to good service and satisfied customers. We will definitely keep them in our list of good places to eat.

I expected a typical Mediterranean fast-food-esque restaurant, but the food went beyond my expectations. A group of us went for dinner and they definitely give you more than enough food for the money. Make sure to order something pita bread because it’s warm and soft. The waitress informed us that they start cooking the meat after orders are made, so it’s super fresh. And she wasn’t kidding – the lamb was the perfect texture. It’s family-owned and so you know there’s a lot of lovin’ that goes into that food. And it shows. I’m going back tomorrow for lunch and plan on becoming a regular.

This is a great, warm place. The waitress was very friendly and there is a nice friendly feel from the whole staff. The food was good — I had the Gyro platter, which for me right now is the primary staple that I’ll order from Mediterranean places. Next week, I’ll dig into their Chicken Kabob.

Single restaurant owned by a local family. Wife and I both had gyro wraps and they were good. My request for tzatziki on the side was honored. Typical lunch restaurant environment and ambience with tables and chairs. Nothing fancy. Waitress was their daughter who is a college student and was very nice.

A new restaurant run by an Egyptian family, in the space formerly occupied by J&J Deli and the short-lived J&J Deli II. Interestingly, it’s a few doors down from Sage, another basically middle-Eastern restaurant, but a very different one. We went there for lunch. Their lunch menu specializes in pita wraps… gyros, falafel, and the like. Apparently you can order a platter rather than a wrap, if you prefer. They also had a pastrami wrap; I wondered whether that was an homage to the bygone J&J Delis? :) While we waited, we were brought a small dish of orzo in tomato sauce with hot pita triangles, perhaps because our order was taking a little bit longer… a nice touch. The gyro I ordered was tasty, generous, and served with piping-hot fries. The food was very good, but the place is still a little disheveled. My suggestions… –something needs to be done about the floor, which is so beaten up that it looks dirty even when it’s clean. Could some new flooring be laid? –Maybe a lighter-color paint job on the walls? Some plants? –The staff looked a little frazzled; I’d suggest lowering the AC temp, just a degree or two. I think that would be more comfortable for both the staff and the customers –Disable the weird«The front door is open» alarm inherited from the previous establishment. –How about adding a couple of Egyptian specialties to the menu? I sure hope this place succeeds. You can never have too many middle-Eastern restaurants!
