I guess I am the last person to find out what a Minute Clinic is. I needed them on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to find this location. I was extremely happy with the nurse practitioner here. Way cheaper than an urgent care. I am very happy that this location exists. I do not want to go back but will not hesitate to visit them if I get sick and need some simple antibiotics or something. Be sure to get there at least an hour before the place closes as there are probably people in line already. My one hiccup was with the computer; I was there 1hr and 45min before close and this little kiosk said there wasn’t enough time for me. I knew the 2 people ahead of me just had the sniffles so I hung out until the nurse popped out and told her what was going on. She did something on her computer and I was then able to sign in on the kiosk. The kiosk scared me a bit also because I knew a bunch of sick people had been touching it all day long. In the kiosk’s defense: there was some hand sanitizer beside it…

My school hospital was out of flu shots and I decided it was finally time to get one. Looked online for different places that provide flu shots and the minute clinic concept appealed to me. Checked in, 20 minutes later I received my shot and was good to go. NP was very thorough and explained everything to me as this was my first ever flu shot. Would gladly recommend this place for your flu shot.

The sad thing is it is a great concept. The execution of quality care here is sketchy at best. I am posting this based on three experiences for myself personally, and two for my daughter. I have had one fair experience there(worthy of two stars). I felt like the nurse practitioner(though not a warm person) really wanted to give me the best care she could. She seemed very stand offish but it could be that she’s shy. I don’t know, but I want to give her the benefit of the doubt. I left with a prescription that did the job. This was a couple years ago. Since then, we have gone four other times, every single time has turned out horrible. Why do we keep hitting our heads against the wall and going back? I guess because I always hope it will have improved. This last visit put the nail in the coffin for us. We won’t be going back. To my daughter – the first time I took her for an unexplained rash that seemed to have started with some sort of insect bite. The NP really did a great job and ended up prescribing her some cream that did wonders. Yeah! The second time I took my daughter, we had a different NP than the normal one I have seen there. She was arrogant, rude, and completely obnoxious. She told me since my daughter had a cough for so long, that even though her lungs sounded completely clear, she would need x-rays. I was in disbelief. Then she told me according to her chart, she couldn’t treat her anyway because we was sick a day longer than they allow them to treat. I did the math on the way to Pediatric Express in Morrisville and she was wrong, she could have treated her. Pediatric Express diagnosed it correctly(bronchitis – what I believed it to be in the first place) and gave her the proper prescription and all was well. The last time I went here was last week. I clearly had a sinus infection. When you are a chronic sinus infection sufferer – you KNOW. It’s not that she doubted it, she just insisted she had to give me something that is known not to work for MY sinus infections. Huh? Why prescribe something for me that I know does not work? I really pushed back to get the proper prescription, but to no avail. I went ahead and filled what she gave me. It ended up making me horribly sick AND my sinus infection got so worse and I had to go to the ER. I told the doctor there the reason the NP at Minute Clinic gave for not prescribing the right meds and she had never heard of it. She did some research and the reason behind her not prescribing it was not at all valid for my situation. Again, great concept, just horribly executed. Save your time and your money and go elsewhere. You will be glad you did. I think the only thing this place would really be good for is a flu shot. But I don’t even believe in getting one of those. In a nutshell — go at your own risk and be prepared to be disappointed.

I had a horrible experience this morning. I went to this same minute clinic on Sun. and was really impressed. I had a very nice woman, who took her time and was very helpful. I had to come back this morning as my symptoms worsened and I was sure I now had a sinus infection. There was a different woman there who was unbelievably rude to me. She never introduced herself, did not like the fact that I had returned there instead of seeing a PCP(I was on my way to work and hoped that I could be in and out), and threw me tissues when I had a cough telling me to cough into those. She then warned me that I would not necessarily even get antibiotics for my infection after she examined me etc. and at that point, I got my insurance card and left. I am going to complain.

Well, I ended up with a prescription in the end… But in the beginning, the nurse didn’t even say hello, she just told me to close the door behind me and then started droning off a bunch of form questions. She then got upset and confrontational when I couldn’t easily describe my symptoms. She was rude, aggressive and made me very uncomfortable. These are things I LOVE to deal with when I’m already feeling bad. These places are a joke unless you’re just trying to get a flu shot. Even then they try and do a full medical workup instead of just asking if you’ve even been allergic. If you’re just getting a flu shot, go to your local fire station or supermarket instead… this place will leave you feeling worse then when you went in.
