After working with Matt and Mike regarding a traffic ticket I received in Durham County, I was quick to re-​hire them for a traffic violation my Dad received in another county. I contacted this law office regarding a lawsuit I was pursuing against a contractor who had purchased the wrong materials and refused to replace them or reimburse the expense. When I met with the lawyers at this law office they assured me it was to be an easy case. I had all documentation of communication between myself and the contractor as well as photographs of the wrong materials procured. I provided the lawyers with all documentation, photographs, and a retainer. I left the office with a clear understanding of what was to transpire: they would file the case in superior court the following week.
I contacted them four weeks later to inquire as to the status of my case, as the two attorneys I’d spoken with made it clear that they were proceeding according to our agreed upon plan. I learned at that time (four weeks after they were to have filed the case) that they were «not sure» if I wanted the case filed in Superior or Small Claims courts. They had not contacted me to ask me that question. They had made no effort to proceed with the case. They were, apparently, waiting for me to decide it had been long enough, call them, and then they would get the information which they needed in order to proceed. Or, to put it another way, they took my retainer, lied to me about their intentions, and sat on my money until such time as they needed to lie to me about their intentions again.
I was I think understandably disappointed in the performance of the two professionals I had paid to handle my case, and when I communicated that disappointment to their staff, I used this phrase:
«I would appreciate it if they behaved as though they were employed by me.»
Based on that, THEY fired ME, telling me that there had to be trust between attorney and client. They did not acknowledge nor apologize for the fact that it was their mishandling of my case from the moment they received my money up until that phone call which destroyed that trust. I have not had the occasion to hire attorneys very often in my very fortunate life. Should I have such occasion in the future, I would hire this company last of all.

This firm is great. The fees are reasonable, they communicate the process well and handle things professionally. My experience was a traffic ticket case. I highly recommend this office for its excellent work.
