I’ve used this place several times for some basic alterations and have always had great results. They have a quick turn around time and have very reasonable prices. They accept cash or check.

Amy is stylish and articulate and efficient. Her work is durable and fairly priced. Whenever I return to her with alterations, she remembers my preference for cuffs and floppy lapels. Please trust her and try her out. I admire her and remain A Satisfied Customer.

I ended up not getting my bridesmaid dress altered here… I’ve heard her work is good… so if you want something altered that is something you’ll wear over and over again… then you might want to try this place… but, I would not recommend this place for a bridesmaid dress that you may wear only once! She wanted to charge me $ 105 to just tighten the dress from the top and hem it in the bottom! I thought she was crazy! I had spent $ 130 to buy the dress and she wanted to charge me over $ 100 to alter it?! I asked if she could offer any kind of discount as I am a student… and she said she could take $ 3 off!!! Can you believe the gall? I ended up going to Fashion Tailors in Carrboro… they altered my dress for $ 50 and I was very satisfied! They worked with me until the dress fit just right…

Except for a bridesmaid’s dress or two, it had been many years since I last bought any clothing needing alterations. This was on purpose… my mom had always done my tailoring, and ever since I moved a thousand miles away from my parents’ house, her services weren’t quite as available. A couple months ago, however, I discovered two pairs of designer jeans on super sale that I just had to have. Unfortunately, both pairs were at least 6 inches too long for me. I searched online for tailors and discovered a couple near my apartment or my work. I called each one to ask what they would charge for shortening a pair of jeans while preserving the original hem. I got a wide range of prices and settled on Amy’s Alterations because their prices were the lowest and the shop was close to my apartment and had gotten good reviews on another website. It was a fortunate choice. The lady who helped me was friendly, the work was done in just a couple of days, and I was very pleased with the quality. I would trust her with other types of garments as well. Amy’s Alterations is located upstairs in the Glen Lennox shopping center, and they only take cash or checks. No credit cards.
