Nic-Lor Floors

I cannot rave enough about this company. We were about to move into our first home and two days before, realized replacing the carpets would be a good idea, I asked if they could do it the next day before all the stuff was moved in and they said yes! That same day the owner himself showed up and showed me what they had in stock and ready to go. He made extremely helpful suggestions about what style would be able to handle our future guarenteed pet stains (two dogs and a cat!), but without trying to sell me on anything. The next day they showed up 10 minutes early and even fixed our squeaky floorboards without us asking! They did a BEAUTIFUL job and I wish I had before and after pics for proof. Because the manager worked with my fathers company before he gave us a low price and that was so amazing of him. We now flip homes and definitely plan on using him on our future projects. I am a single woman homeowner without much experience in wood flooring. As such I hired experts, Nic Lor rather than general contractors, to remove old wood flooring from my kitchen and install a new one. Noc Lor did not remove a small section of the old floor because it was under a small piece of baseboard, approximately 1.5 ft in length and the only piece remaining in the room. This piece of old flooring prevented the new boards from going under the baseboard. So they cut the new boards short, creating a shorter line to the wall. I realized later that I was forced to keep the small piece of baseboard in my kitchen otherwise I would see an ugly empty space. Nic-​Lor asked for an additional $ 300 to remedy this issue, then lowered their request to $ 150. I was very lucky that I had general contractors working in my kitchen at the time. It took them approximately 10 seconds to remove the old baseboard, no effort for removing the old wood floors, and $ 50 to address the gap problem. Nic-​Lor just could not be bothered to either remove the old baseboard or to pull out the old wood and insert the proper length boards under it. Nor could they be bothered with informing me of potential issues. So, if you are an expert that can tell your contractors what to do, when, and where, they did an acceptable job installing most boards. If you are looking for expertise to guide you through potential pitfalls, keep looking.

Great customer service, friendly, quick removal of nasty woolen, carpet beetle lovin’ 70s carpet in the basement, and quick installation of nice new non animal fiber carpet. Very professional.
And our property management chose them, which means that they are inexpensive. Recommended.
