Great customer service! The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful! I am fairly new to riding and they did not make me feel like I didn’t belong there. I purchased a helmet, boots, and some apparel. I was impressed with how detailed the woman was with explaining what boots to get, stayed within my price range, and made sure they fit correctly. I will definitely continue to shop here! :)

Last time ever coming to Dover Saddlery. Look-when I ask you for a set of Stubben leathers in 47″, black, don’t lie and tell me they don’t exist. Especially when I can find them online for $ 40.00 less than you sell them in the store. And, when my husband asks if all the reins you have on display are all you have, don’t look like we are speaking a foreign language. A simple, «yes, that is all we have» would suffice. You get 2 stars only because the store is at least clean.

I’m so glad to finally live somewhere with a Dover nearby! I’ve gone in on several occasions and always found what I needed. The first time I had to get ALL new gear since I was rejoining the sport after some years away, and the woman who helped me made sure I found absolutely everything I needed within the price points I gave her. I actually ended up spending less than I expected to after she pointed out some brands I hadn’t considered. Since then I’ve gotten gear for myself and my horse there, and been very happy with the selection. Someone has always been available to help me, but are happy to leave me to browse.

Consistently outstanding customer service & the 100% satisfaction guarantee on products like boots have made me a customer for life. Also the Mgr has been generous in supporting community events like one of my Cavallo Farm students’ raffles to benefit the Equine Rescue League. Thank you for helping them be involved when they were too young to volunteer directly at Promise Kept Farm. And I finally love my perfect boots ;-)

Great tack store if it wasn’t for fighting the traffic to get there. Staff is usually friendly and attentive and the selection is admirable for the space.

Very good service. Went in with my wife to get riding boots, and they spent 20 minutes running around and making sure she had exactly what she needed. I don’t know much about the sport, but there seems to be a large selection and the prices felt reasonable.

Love dover, hate their store. Some of the most rude women you’ll ever come across in your life. I would suggest only going in the store if you know exactly what you’re getting — not trying to gain knowledge from the staff. I wish I could say it’s a one time experience but almost every time I’ve gone in I’m not acknowledged, and when I ask a question it’s followed with a condescending answer.

As beginners we were a little reluctant(or intimidated) to come here. We left very pleased! The young lady helping us was very knowledgable and took a tremendous amount of time to get us the right gear for beginners(helmets, chaps, boots, etc). We never felt rushed and she never guided us to the most expensive items(which could easily have been done given our novice status). Our only regret was that we didn’t catch her name to thank her. Our receipt has the initials«ES» on it and we recall she wore knee highs and Sperry’s. We’re thankful to have had her assistance and therefore highly recommend Dover Saddlery. And to whomever assisted us — you know who you are — we thank you so very much!

Good selection of(English only) tack and clothes, but service poor. While I spent about 20 minutes looking at girths and saddle pads, the 5 – 6 salesgirls chatted at the register. It would have been nice if one of them freed themselves up from socializing to see how I was doing or if I needed assistance. In the past when I needed assistance they were very knowledgeable.

I LOVE Dover! I’ve always been a huge fan of their catalog /website and was beyond excited to move to Virginia where there were actual retail stores! I’ve been to this Dover location many times and the staff are always beyond helpful. This past winter was my and my horse’s first East Coast winter and we got invaluable tips and advice. They even special ordered me the perfect heavy blanket when they didn’t have exactly what I wanted in stock. I’ve gotten great advice about everything from riding breeches to eventing vests and the customer service has always been phenomenal. The ladies working never seem rushed or too busy to answer any question I have and really take the time to listen and understand what I’m asking and exactly what I’m trying to accomplish. The only thing that hasn’t been perfect is the selection because it’s a fairly small store and they simply can’t stock every color and every size of everything. However, they ship to the store for free and will help you pick things out of the catalog for delivery which is fantastic.

Some days, their customer service is better than others. I’ve gone in on days where nobody acknowledges me and most of the ladies working are just chatting away with each other. Other days, I’ve been repeatedly asked if I was being helped by multiple staff members so it all depends on when you go in. I would suggest always going in with a catalog because the prices in the store are much higher and you can save so much by getting the prices in the catalog instead. For riding apparel, boots, and things like that, I’d wait until there is a sale or shop online with the catalog, but for everyday items like fly spray, show sheen, halters, brushes, go for it. Overall good tack store. It’s on the way to the barn so the location is convenient as well. I frequently shop here.

I love this store. Each time I’ve been there, the customer service has been very friendly and very helpful. I named my requirements and the sales assistant was very careful to match them and suggest the right sizes(I like longer tops) and make sure I was happy with what I bought. The people are also friendly and generally make the long drive out to the store worth the trouble.

Love their tent sale! I come here often for small things(detangler, 25 pounds of horse treats, hoof stuff, gloves). The larger things(boots, helmets, etc) sometimes I find cheaper online. I did buy my Mountain Horse winter boots, pants and jacket here though, they were on sale at the time and the deal was worth it. I always receive great customer service here. The parking lot is usually not full, but only accessible from 50 heading east.(Not sure what the construction along 50 is going to do to that.)

Great customer service! I feel that they tend to supply some of the higher priced items in the store, but it just depends on what you are going in for that trip! The tent sale is the best, busy but awesome prices and the perfect time to stock up on everyday used items. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, not snobby or rude compared to other places!
