I was excited to see that there was a Pizza Inn in my area. I ate Pizza Inn for years until they closed most of their stores back in the 90’s. I ordered delivery on a Saturday night with great anticipation. I was even more excited when the person on the phone said it would be delivered in just 30 minutes! I ordered a small vegetarian pizza with regular crust and a Large Cheese with extra cheese. The pizzas were somewhat overcooked but not a big issue for me. The true disappointment was in the crust. I don’t know if this was normal for them or a bad batch of dough but it literally tasted like cardboard. I even hate to use this description because it sounds over the top. But that’s truly what it tasted like. The worst pizza delivery experience I’ve ever had. You’ll see from my other reviews that I tend to be more generous with my ratings: I know most establishments try their hardest to present a great product for their customers. But one star is being generous here. All I can say is don’t waste your time or money. Not to mention your taste buds!

I’m used to European pizza and not a great fan of American pizza. My plan this evening was to get a Papa John’s pizza, but a sense for something new and adventurous brought me here. I’m pretty simple with my pizza’s(I just eat plain Cheese versions most of the time), but I always enjoy garlic added to my sauce and pizza. This was not on the menu, but the gentleman taking my order said he could do it. If you’re going in for a random pizza pick-up, they are extremely fast at making pizza. Given that it wasn’t that busy helps, of course — but nonetheless no dillydally. As I walked out I told him I hope the pizza is good, a customer had just walked in and heard me say that and responded — «Yes they are». With a lot of conviction. I ate a large Cheese pizza with some spicy sauce of my own and it was delicious, better than my trusted papa john’s. The next day I ate 4 leftover slices and they were still absolutely delicious. That’s the difference you get from fresh dough.

Pizza Inn was alwasy my favorite pizza growing up as a kid. I’ve always loved the cracker-type crusts. I was excited when traveling thru Houston to find this particular one. The décor inside didn’t look like it had been updated since it was built. It was very outdated. I was promptly seated and my drink arrived immediately. I went to the buffet to find the selection very sparse. It was about 12:45 in the afternoon and the food looked like it had been on the buffet quite a while. I picked up a few pieces of pizza, thinking more would come out soon. I was sadly wrong. After 30 minutes of waiting, no more pizza came out. Other patrons were waiting too, but I couldn’t wait any longer since I was on lunch break. The best thing about my experience was the nice lady who was making sure the tables were wiped clean and floors swept well as customers left. She smiled and kept telling us that more food was on the way, but alas, it never did. I walked out disappointed.

Best delivery and take out pizza in Houston. The dough is made fresh daily and is not frozen unlike its competitors(Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, and Dominos). Also they are always consistent with quality and taste. Cant wait to go back.
