The trompo was good especially since they do pit chunks of pineapple as the originals should have, the only thing I didn’t like is that the tortillas break apart as if they weren’t heated up before putting them through the oil. Overall it was good and the price was reasonable.

I lived in Monterrey for some time and had the best trompo tacos around. This place is a close third… Piratas and compenchanas were pretty good. I’ll be back.

I live in Tomball and I drive 1 ½ hours to get a whole chicken. Their chicken is the BEST!

Nasty. Dirty. Taste isn’t great, i get better tacos from a truck. The chips are old, taste like the oil hasn’t been changed for days.

Veey good tacos al pastor/trompo. So full and delicious. Very filling. Their salsas with chips are delicious, authenticly spicey. Also the tacos come with onions and chiles toreados. Daughter tried the trompo burger. Best burger EVER! Tasted like a cross between a burger and a torta. Had all the yuminess of a torta, cheese, lettuce tomato and avocado. It also had burger, trompo meat, and ham. Wow. So good! Yummy aguas frescas. Sorry to dissapoint the food was so good and distracting that we forgot to take pictures. Ugh!

At first it was great! But the fact that it’s been closed for various health reasons ruins everything for me. Also, every time I have ate here it has made my stomach hurt and it’s just not good anymore.

This place has really gone downhill. My family and I had not been there in a while because we weren’t very satisfied due to the fact that my husband got sick from eating there. We decided to give them a second chance. This time the place was almost empty so we were the only ones the server had to attend. He took a while to get our drinks, food was cold when it arrived, my beans had a head of garlic in them, my sister’s bread from her torta was old and stale. DEFINITELYNOTGOINGBACK. I guess that’s why there was no business.

Food was ok, could be better. Chips while waiting for my tacos were soft instead of being crispy. No taste. Like if they were put out outside for a long time. Only one sauce. Onions, cilantro and lemons were not fresh. If you do come and eat here, do not sit on the table right next to the big squared sewer drain. It will make you think your eating other than tacos.

This place has really expanded since it first opened up. It was once just a little taco stand with a ordering window and now it’s a full blown restaurant with waiters/waitresses, bar, TV’s and more. It was a slow but progressive change over the years, however with change comes good and bad. I can say that I experienced some the good and bad during my last visit here. The good part is that the taco’s are delicious. It’s what you expect from a Mexican taco truck. I still recommend ordering the beef taco on corn tortilla with cheese. Nice combination for around $ 2. The size is small so I recommend ordering 2 for light meal and 3 to satisfy your stomach. Unfortunately though, when I received my taco, one of them was really lacking meat. It was nothing compared to the taco shown in the picture I posted in 2013. Not only that, when my cousin and I opened the bag to see how many potato chips we got, there was only a tiny bag. The bag contained only about 5 full chips in there. We ordered enough food for two people and we were both present, but we only received 5 chips? I asked the lady for another bag of chips, but in the process she gave me a look. The worst part was that I tipped her, even though it was take out! Wait time was about 20 – 30 minutes for 6 tacos. TIPS: –Check your bags to ensure you received chips and the right amount of sauce. It’s not always consistent. –Order it to go to so you won’t have to be waited and seated at a table. Saves on cost. This is how tacos from food trucks should be eaten anyways. –Order guacamole from HEB and enjoy your food even more!

They were good back in the day. Now, not so much. Cilantro, onions and lemons were not fresh. Green and red sauses were old. Tacos were decent but nothing to brag about. Our waiter got our order wrong.

I love coming here on Thursdays. They have a offer where you get 12 tacos, 2 orders of frijoles a la charra and two drinks(your choice of lemonade, horchata, and melon or some other thing) for 9.99. The tacos make me feel like a king since they’re small, and I usually down about 6 or so each time. The green hot sauce tastes like the person who made it hates their customers, which is awesome because I love the taste of it(consequentially, I love her also). This place makes me so happy, they let you bring beer and they give you double bubble and the place hits home because I’m a Mexican who misses Mexican taco places.

A group from work and I go almost once every week. We love it. You get to sit outside under a patio, drink Mexican coke, and eat delicious street tacos. Everything taste fresh and the staff are usually really fast. Downside is the parking lot is tiny and you do have to sit outside. The have misters and fans to help beat the heat though.

Delicious food! I had the beef tacos with cheese(make sure you get the cheese). The meat was tender and had a great flavor. The tortillas were fresh. The tacos came with grilled onions, cilantro, and lime. The chips were tasty and came with a green sauce and salsa. Watch out for the sauces they were both spicy but delicious. It was a nice day so we ate there at the tables outside. Friendly staff. If you are in that area, it is definitely worth a try

In an area with not that many great restaurants, this shack/food truck/outdoor patio restaurant stands out with vibrant colors. Been here a couple of times and ordered the trompo tacos both times which are excellent. Service can be slow at times but it is well worth it if you have the time. The fajita taco was good as well. tortillas were okay, but not nearly as good as Laredo. Beware of the Mexican cokes because they are not true Mexican cokes with real sugar. Somehow these bottled cokes which are made in Mexico have HFCS in them, as the label suggests. I knew they tasted slightly off from the ones I used to have in Mexico as a kid. Also do not suggest going here a day or two after it rains or on a muggy day. My party of 4 were eaten up by mosquitoes and changed our dine in order quickly to a to go order. So basically it’s a place to go IF you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t drive across town for the experience.

Yes it’s a food truck/stand/outdoor tent situation. Yes it’s in a less affluent side of town. Yes it’s next to some train tracks. But is the food good? YES! So, today I decide to screw over all the hard work of dieting by getting a 5 tromp tacos and liter of Mexican Coke, and it was worth it. I ordered it on flour, they must be psychic because they made it just how i like it, thin and crispy. The meat is well seasoned and tender and tasty and yummy and I could go on, but we’d be here all day. The jalapeño salsa is spiiiiiicy, and throw in the onions and cilantro, and you have a symphony of awesomeness that’ll make your inner fat boy/girl dance with glee. Best of all they take credit card! It does suck to be outside in the Houston summer, but you can eat it in your car, or if you have the patience you can always bring it home. I’d say I come back real soon, but I can’t, I have to be strong. The last time I found a taco stand/truck that I loved I gained 60 lbs, seriously, and I love this place to where gaining another 60 lbs wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

Are you afraid of taco trucks? Are you uppity? Do you think that being next to a railroad track makes something gross and dirty? Then stay away from Karancho’s. More for me. The tacos are cheap($ 1.50! What What!) and delicious(Trompo, I think I love you). The salsas are spicy and the chips are homemade and greasy, which makes for fantastic hangover food. It is outside, and in good weather, it’s awesome. It’s even got a playground for the kiddos. This place is authentic. Trompo, Barbacoa, Lengua, Tripe, Grilled Pork, Fajita tacos abound. I think I’ll have to make a breakfast stop soon to give their breakfast tacos a fair shake.
