Ordered black DT Swiss spokes online via Amazon. Received wrong item. Received silver spokes. Went ’round and ’round with Tim about EXCHANGING the silver for black. Returned the silver ones and got an order refund. Not what I wanted. I wanted the black spokes.

Despite what past reviewers said, I had a great experience with these guys. I actually stopped into their shop a few years back when they were in Excelsior and had the exact same impression that JD D did — seemed unapproachable and arrogant, but the experience I had when I ordered a set of wheels from them this time was just the opposite. Ordered through Amazon marketplace and contacted them to request a local pickup if it was possible. They not only made it happen, but worked to get the wheels to me a day earlier than promised and had the wheels ready to go and at the front door for me(I think they actually stayed late since they had lost power in their building and had to close early). Really well done and I will try to order from them again in the future.

Ordered a rockshox from these guys, they sent it fed ex and required a signature. I asked them not to require a signature, but they ignored that request. Fed ex has made three attempts to deliver my package but everyone is at work during the day. I signed the door tag and also created a fed ex account and modified the delivery options with directions for them to leave the package on the porch. Fed ex ignored both and took my package back to their office in Newark. They then say I have to drive out to Newark to pick up my package. I was supposed to go to the bike shop today and get the fork installed. I’ve been on the phone with fed ex for an hour trying to find my package and get it delivered. They then told me the fork is on the way back to the seller. Great. I don’t recommend Fed ex and especially Excel Cycle. Excel Cycle has been no help and has not responded to my email about this matter. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Buy from a vendor that ships UPS and Amazon Prime if you want your stuff.

Having spent a vast majority of my life in Bike Shops, I have experienced both Good and Bad Bike Shops. I have found that there are ones with Bad Mechanics and Poor Customer Service. There are ones with Poor Mechanics but Good Customer Service, and then there ones who have Good Mechanics and Poor Customer Service. The Later typically fall under the category of the Arrogant Bike. These are the worse of them all. A local Example of this would be Excelcycle in Excelsior, MN. The owner is a fantastic guy, yet it is the underlings that he has working that ultimately results in its downfall. One of the fundamental issues is, despite their«e-commerce» presence on their own website they do not or fail to match online pricing with a competitor. This simply creates a truly puzzling conundrum for me. In the zero border world we live in, this is a non-starter in addition to the current economic climate and environment we live in. If you enjoy having the«Pseudo» Sense of Customer Service, with«Minnesota Nice» overtones and premium pricing stop on in and make a pseudo friend.
