This is a nice place to eat and relax. It wasn’t busy on a a wet Wednesday night, but the food was good and the service prompt.

Walked in to drink some beers and there were 4 people bellied up to the bar! Perfect small town, hole in the wall, belly up to the bar type of place. Bartenders shoots the breeze with you as you have a few beers with your new friends. Off the beaten path. Diamond in the ruff. Small town bar. You only know about it if you know about it. My kind of place and if you are reading this and thinking ‘nice’, then it’s probably your kind of place too.

Just found a new favorite hangout! Don’t let the name or logo fool you. Great food, LOVE the cozy ambiance and super service. Chicken wings are amazing and they even have homemade blue cheese dressing! Love their smoked meats and BBQ sauce. Homemade bread pudding with Jack Daniels sauce… OMG it’s incredible. I would skip the mac’n’cheese, it’s pretty soupy with liquid cheese sauce. The artichoke dip also had too much cheese. Everything else was amazing!!! Happy hour 1−6pm everyday, $ 2 beers and discounted apps! Will definitely be back.

The sandwiches are alright but this place hires serious pirate hooker trolls for bar staff

This place is a hidden treasure. You walk in and you’re in another state or so it seems. The service was friendly and the food was amazing. We had the 3 meat platter, cup of chili, Frings(onion rings and fries) basket. And my stepson had a chuck wagon burger(not pictured) normally we don’t order all this food but it all looked so good. Even the desserts. Next time we will get desserts lol were too full from the food. The burnt tip chili was really really good. Highly recommended. The brisket was juicy and flavorful along with the rack of ribs and pork. The fried potatoes and Mac and cheese for the sides were incredible. We will definitely come back. Try it if you haven’t you won’t regret it.

I just moved to Chanhassen from St. Louis and hands down this place just does it right. I had the 2 Meat Platter with their tender fall of the bone ribs and the smoked brisket. The entrée makes the whole trip absolutely worth your while but the sides were cooked to perfection to top it off. Grilled corn on the cob and home made mac and cheese? Get it. This is by far the best restaurant I’ve eaten at since moving to Minnesota much less that I’ve eaten at in a long time. The service was great and attentive and really tied it together. If you are in the area, stop in and treat yourself to a real meal.

Just made my second visit here, and this place is definitely a good place for BBQ. I give them 4 very solid stars, and will be back next time I’m in Chanhassen. I won’t give ChuckWagon Charlie’s 5 stars only because I am measuring them up against BBQ from Texas, Memphis, and St. Louis.(I travel a lot and have had BBQ all over the country.) Food: Very good BBQ. And while it may not be quite as good as what you can find in BBQ meccas like Memphis, this is about as good as you’ll get anywhere else. I’ve tried the pulled pork, the brisket, the pork shoulder, and best of all the«burned ends»…which are the tips off the briskets. All the meats were tender, tasty, and did not have the overpowering smoke flavor you find at some BBQ joints. Smoked just the way I prefer. If you have any doubts, just stand out in the parking lot for a few minutes and let the smoky aroma goodness call to you. Service and atmosphere: This is a fun casual place to let your hair down, and enjoy a beer or three with your meal. I like the on-tap beer selection; it’s not huge but they’ve done a good job selecting good beers to cover all the bases. The whole staff is very friendly and makes you feel right at home. It is on the small side, but on both my visits the place was not crowded.

This is St. Louis style BBQ to the fullest. We shared the 3 Meat platter along with 2 sides. ¼ slab of ribs, half chicken & a few slices of Pork shoulder. Creamy Mac n Cheese(Delicious) & Slaw. Smoked perfection for a local Minnesota spot. The main seating area may have 10 – 12 tables and the Bar can accommodate 8 – 10 patrons easily. They do have another side connected for bands, party etc. I’m guessing. Nice beer selection as well as proof. I tried the excelsior beer today. Not bad. Seeing that’s it’s the 4th everyone was out enjoying the Parade. They had a Pig Roast going on from 1−5pm & a live band starting @ 5 ish. I can’t really come up with enough words to describe this place at the moment because I’m feeling pretty darn good & typing is a bit difficult at the moment Lol. If you happen to make it out to Chanhassen. Put this place on your must visit BBQLIST. until next time. Enjoy and be safe.

Wanted to try out a new place in chanhassen and had never been here. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the bartender and waitress. We sat at the bar, ordered a couple of beers and I was very pleased with the menu! My friend is a vegetarian, maybe not the best choices for her on the menu! However, after telling the bartender he recommended the Mac and cheese. She decided on the turkey club with cheese substituting the meats. They were more then happy to accommodate. I ordered the two meat platter with ribs and brisket with beans and coleslaw for a side. The food was delicious! I could not eat all of the two meat platter so brought the leftovers home to my husband. When he brought them to work his coworkers almost made him eat in another room! We will certainly be back to try more on this menu!

I have been to breakfast there a couple times. It’s been always awesome. Last time I was there they had one waitress and no Bartender on mothers day and it was a cluster. I’m only writing this review to encourage them never to make that mistake again. The waitress didn’t know how to correctly make breakfast cocktails… Bloodies, screwdrivers… And my mother in laws whose breakfast did not come out at all much less correct. And our drinks weren’t much better.

This place has awesome breakfast believe it or not. Not anything overly fancy, just good tasting, well made, breakfast with a bbq twist. I stopped in after driving by 100 times. I found a happenings book coupon for buy 1 get 1 free and thought I would give it a try. I now regret not finding it sooner and would pay full price anytime. I had the beef hash a month ago and thought it was very very good. Kids came with and had something off the kid menu. Wife had a breakfast burrito that was very big and really good. Would have given it a 4 star rating then. Today was even better. I had the walleye breakfast with eggs, sliced potatoes, and toast. Pretty simple but very well executed. Walleye had a very light coating that they described as «shore lunch». It was light enough to let the fish flavor come through without all the breading. Bloody Mary is included for brunch which is awesome. Ask for the house made hot sauce to add to the bloody mary and toss on the eggs if you are in to that. The most impressive item was the breakfast sandwich that my wife ordered. A nice ciabatta roll with scrambled eggs, two hot links(the size of a bratwurst), and cheese. It is huge and very delicious. See if you can find a coupon for your first visit(I think my wife and I ate breakfast with bloody mary’s for under 20 bucks total with tip last time). I bet you wont mind paying more after you experience it for yourself.

I eat out a lot! Here in MN I strive to find bbq perfection. Today I found TX in MN. There are a lot of people that put a brag on a few places and those people have never been here. Sausage was perfect. It was flavorful and not greedy. Chicken was brined and rubbed. It was wonderful. Brisket was dry rubbed and very flavorful. Mac n cheese was excellent. This is a place by which others should be compared. I also read some reviews that complained about service. Seriously? Our servers name was Ben. This young man knew the menu very well and was professional and polite also very attentive. Go here and enjoy.

We took advantage of a family night and were totally happy. Started out with a happy hour beer which is hard to find on a Saturday night. My daughter was totally happy with the creamy Mac and cheese and burger. The rest of us got pulled pork. The pork was great although all of us asked for more sauce. Ideally could have less bread and more meat, but the flavor was great. The sweet potato chips were great as were the bbq beans and dill coleslaw. I would probably skip the skillet fried potatoes next time. They were a little limp and greasy. Overall we had great service and good value. We will be back!

We had four people. Two from Denver and two from Minneapolis. All ordered different meals… chicken, pork, sausage, burger, tacos and several beers and wine. Food was delicious and service was great! Highly recommend.

When Chuck Wagon showed up on the foodsby list at work I was excited to give it a try. The yardbird sandwich sounded amazing and my co-worker thought so, too. When it arrived there was an inch of grease at the bottom of the take-out box. The bottom bun was soaked through and the top bun was hard as a rock. I was hungry though and decided to try the filling. I was disappointed by the bland taste, the only part I was happy about was the bacon. It got worse though, both my co-worker and I found chicken bones in our sandwiches. Her’s was about 4 inches long so it was easy to spot but mine were less than an inch. We both threw away what remained(the majority of our overpriced, inedible meals) and got jimmy johns delivered. We’ve warned away the rest of our branch from ordering from Chuck Wagon.

This place is awesome. Have had the ribs, pulled pork sandwich, and juicy cheeseburger which is stuffed with beef brisket. Don’t know how this is only 3⁄5 stars. No reason to go to famous Dave’s or tony romas. Everything is good. Even the fries and vegetable medley.

My fiancée and I both left with the same impression: not even very good for Minneapolis suburb BBQ. Maybe 15 years in Kansas City spoils you a bit but… Brisket: a bit dry and no flavor, trim was decent though Sauce: very sweet & very runny Ribs: «red alert», they gave us steak knives to cut our«slow-smoked» ribs. The dry rub was flavorless. In KC the meat falls off the bone, or at worst you can easily just pull it apart. Had to hack away at these ribs like we were cutting drywall. Beans: to quote Charles Barkley, «turrible» If not for the very nice and well stocked bar I’d have given this place one star. As noted below, service was pretty slow.
