My family and I went here yesterday. Service was 4 stars and food was 5 stars. So this gives it a 4 ½ star total. The place was small, clean tucked away in a little strip mall on the SE corner of Ray & Alma School. I was looking for a place to eat yesterday from our mobile Entertainment app and saw this place, but it was a bit further from where we wanted to be so we chose a different place the day before. Since I didn’t feel like cooking last night, we were going to go to one of our normal places to eat — at least that’s what my husband wanted. But I’m almost always opened to trying new ethnic places, which my husband isn’t always quite as opened. However, the place we went to the day before was a huge hit, so he braved it and we were not disappointed. My son had Chaufa de Camaron(Shrimp Fried Rice — $ 14.95), my daughter had Chaufa de Pollo(Chicken Fried Rice — $ 10.95), my husband had Chaufa de Carne(Beef Fried Rice — $ 11.95) and I had Pescado a lo Tumi(Fried Fish topped with Seafood Mix and their Tumi sauce — $ 18.95). I didn’t realize they charged that much for my dish, which the menu said $ 16.95, so that was an overcharge of $ 2. Not cool. If this is the price, they should say so on the menu or say this can vary. Our waitress spoke perfect English and she also spoke Spanish(but not to us). The Entertainment coupon allowed us to take $ 10 off our meal, which they did just fine. We had to ask for some things twice, and we also asked for extra napkins, which we never got. Our waitress was fine, but seemed a little forgetful. We also ordered Choclo con Queso(Peruvian corn on the cob) that came with 2 different cheese things — one were small rectangular thing of queso(cheese). This tasted better than the queso we get at the Latin stores, but not as good as Colombian queso. And there was this cheese sauce. We took all the kernals off the corn and ate with the cheese dip and queso. This was $ 7.95. I think this was overpriced, but we were just experimenting. It was okay. The corn kernals were very huge, almost like hominy, but did not taste like hominy. It didn’t taste like the corn we know either. It was interesting and I don’t think we’d get this again. It didn’t taste bad, though. Just okay. However, we did like all our dinners and the food was really good. It had good flavor and taste. I do think all the dishes were overpriced though some. However, the portions were very hearty. My husband was the only one who ate his whole dinner, but that’s only because he didn’t want to take anything home. I had more than ½ my plate left and was verging on being full. I do not like to eat until I’m full. My daughter had ½ her plate and my son had 1⁄3 of his plate left. Someone’s review said they don’t serve good portions. Well, maybe compared to Claim Jumper’s or Cheesecake Factory, but the portions are hearty for normal people eaters. We had leftover for 3 plates. All the food was yummy. My husband is Colombian and I am Chinese and the food was not bland. It had the right flavor. However, we are not Peruvian and if you were, maybe this would be not good for you. I don’t know. But for us, it was great. For the Shrimp Fried Rice, there was A LOT of shrimp with that dish, so maybe that was the right price for that dish. I would not have had a problem if they charged me the price on the menu for my dish, but since they charged me more and I didn’t catch it, well, too bad. Next time we come, I’ll make sure to check the bill more carefully.

One of my favorite Peruvian restaurants in Arizona. Good, reasonably priced, authentic Peruvian food is hard to find in the valley. Everything I have had is delicious. If you want to try food you have never heard of before and be amazed. Here is the place!

A hole-in-the-wall place in Chandler that I’m a huge fan of! I’ve only had Peruvian food once before when we were in New York so I don’t have much to compare it to however we had a delicious dining experience at Tumi. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated and our drink order was brought out. Our waitress was patient and answered our questions about the menu items; we went with an appetizer that consisted of mashed potatoes and chicken salad with a yellow sauce & chicken wing on the side(sorry, I didn’t write down the name!). It was interesting, definitely not anything like what I’ve had before. I’m not sure that I would order it again because I wasn’t a fan of the warm chicken salad but I’m glad we decided to try it out. For our main meals, I ordered the pollo saltado & my date ordered the lomo saltado. Both were really delicious. I’m not a huge fan of steak which is why I preferred the chicken and it went really well with the sauce and vegetables along with the french fries. I definitely come back over and over for this dish! The only thing is, for the portion served, I found this restaurant to be a bit on the expensive side. Tumi is definitely a great place if I want to treat myself but not a place I’d go frequently.

Based on reviews came to this place for lunch during a visit of the Phoenix area. The place is very clean and somewhat spacious with quiet a few set of tables. The décor of this place is not the greatest. The fluorescent turquoise color of the walls and smurf blue and white tile clashes with Machu Pichu mural. I was expecting to have excellent food based on reviews, but it was a disappointing experience. We ordered chicha morada for drink. It was watery and and too much cinnamon flavor. We ordered seco de res with Peruvian beans. it was not to my liking at all. Beans were prepared with bacon. Awful combination with the seco. Traditional Peruvian beans are not prepared with bacon at all. Meat was dried and unseasoned. Seco should be a soft meat slowly simmered so it remains with excellent flavor and moist. The yuca frita and salsa that accompanied the seco were really good We also tried the anticuchos and they were not good. We left them all in the plate. They were dried needed salt, lack seasoning and with a strong red chile flavor. You could even see pcs of red chile(Mexican chile) should be at least some aji panca. We were expecting to at least have a good lomo saltado, a flamed moist meat mix with the onions still crunchy and tomatoes hardly cooked, but flavor was ok to marginal. The type of meat and the way it was cut, made the meat dried and without flavor. The meat look more like stew meat. This lomo saltado lack that flamed flavor(flameado) The best dish we had was the saltado of vegetables vegetarian version of the lomo saltado. This veggie saltado was great excellent flavor and taste with the signature flame flavor of lomo saltado. Vegetables just cooked right and juicy flavor Service was ok. Quick, but the waitress forgot to bring the papa a la huancaina we ordered. We did not bother to remind her I would not return to this place. Unless I hear food has improved Might be overrated

First, I’ve never been to Peru. So I can’t really say if this is authentic or not. It could be. But I will have to write this without being able to affirm this. This is a small place tucked-away in a tiny plaza on the corner. I like such places! As the name says, this is supposed to be Peruvian cuisine. Our table ordered paella, asado pure, alfajores, and lucuma ice cream. The asado was not what I think of as ‘asado’, but that’s fine. Seems every former Spanish colony/territory has their own version. It was tasty. The paella also was pretty good. The others at the table liked it more than I did. Then came dessert… the alfajores are a sandwich cookie(very dry cookies with a dulce de leche filling and powdered sugar), and the ice cream is based on a fruit that grows only in the Andes. Both were very nice. The ice cream(helado) was unique… not a flavor I’ve ever encountered before. Service was a bit inattentive, but maybe because they were busy and she was the only server. Overall it was tasty and different. I’m torn between 3 and 4 stars, but the others with me seemed to think 4, so 4 it is. I think we’ll be back to try a few of their other dishes, and I’ll update this review afterwards.

Came here for a work lunch and really enjoyed it! Very unique dishes and you could tell the staff was knowledgable and passionate about the menu. Based on recommendations we tried the anticuchos, yuca frita, ceviches, lomo saltado, and saltado de camarones. Everything was delicious and the surprising standout for me was the desserts! You HAVE to try the alfajores — favorite of the table by far. The picarones and Peruvian ice cream were also delicious(all 3 in my picture). :) Definitely check this place out for a new experience!

Sunday afternoon, wanting to try something different, and Tumi received mostly great reviews. Pretty dismal looking strip mall front, but that is not a determining factor for us. Inside, meager furnishings & décor. Looks like it could use a good cleaning. Ordered an appetizer which turned out to be a boiled potato, with a mayo sauce over it, with 4 small grilled shrimp. It was ok. For dinner, arroz con mariscos, or seafood paella for two. Not bad. Rice was fine, plenty of mixed shellfish, but the clams and mussels were overcooked and rubbery. Tried some dessert. The Peruvian ice cream was the best part of the meal. A taste of butterscotch & coffee. Quite nice. The donuts we ordered with the ice cream came 15 minutes later, and were ok. a little heavy & greasy. Food…C Service…C– Ambience…D Value…C– Sorry, see no reason to return. Other reviews are, in my humble opinion, hyperinflated out of kindness.

I haven’t had some good Peruvian food with good service since last year in New York. Finally I found this excellent, delicious spot. We loved our dishes and the service was on point. I recommend Lomo saltado, or spaghetti Verde but everything was good. I highly recommend this place.

Overall, a great dinner. The server was friendly & very patient especially with our strange questions related our naïveté to Peruvian food. The purple corn drink is a must try!

I went there for dinner today for the first time. The food is VERY tasty and just very good. As an appetizer I had«Anticucho», grilled beef heart skewers. I did not finish them, because my entrée came and it was huge. I had Saltado de Camarones, Shrimp sauté. It came before my appetizer. As dessert, I had flan. I did not finish my appetizer nor entrée. It was simply too much. I know, that I will go back, for sure.

Our friend was craving for a Peruvian food so we decided to give this place a shot. Service was great from the moment we stepped foot in this place. We were greeted with a friendly smile and escorted to our table within 2 minutes of walking in. Waters and drinks took a few minutes but not anything to complain about. Waitress made some great recommendations and we ended up ordering(for our hungry party of 3): APPETIZERS: 1. Papa a la Huancaina,(potatoes Huancayo style): Potatoes with a Peruvian with an aji amarillo cheese sauce. This was pretty tasty although I wish it had a bit more punch in the flavor. This dish I’ve had better at other places although still tasty. 2. Choclo con Queso Fresco,(LARGE peruvian corn on the cob served with queso fresco and ahi amarillo cheese sauce): This isn’t your standard corn on the cobb. The texture is ENTIRELY differently. Color is a light yellow and the size of the kernels are about 4 times the size of your standard white or yellow corn kernels. This is no joke LOL! The texture is more chewy, al dente and that’s honestly what I loved so much about it. I recommend cutting the corn kernels off the corn and taking a bit with the quest fresco and cheese sauce on it together. SUPERNOMS — HIGHLY recommend this dish! ENTREES: 1. Arroz con Mariscos(Peruvian Paella): I honestly was very leery to try this when the waitress recommended it because I figured it would probably be overcooked, the rice would be mushy, and overall it would be blah and bland. I was more than pleasantly surprised! They don’t skimp on this dish ATALL. It was a HUGE plate and the paella was surrounded with beautifully pickled red onions and tomatoes chunks. The rice was perfectly cooked, still al dente, packed full of flavor, and LOADED with FRESH seafood. The seafood was perfectly cooked and not rubbery surprisingly! It came with baby scallops, mussels, clams, squid, Octopus, and shrimps. We eat ate 2 bowls and still had half the dish left to take home. HIGHLYRECOMMEND this dish as well! 2. Pollo a la Brasa(Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken): You can order a quarter, half, or whole order. We got the whole chicken and it was AWESOME!!! I’m not a huge fan of dark meat but it was very flavorful, moist, and juicy. The only thing I was missing was the crisp on the skin. The fries that it came with were blah but dip the chicken in the two salsas they provide and it’s a game changer! The white beans it came with were surprisingly delicious too. They were more watery, but super creamy and packed full of spices and flavor. DESSERT: I forgot what they’re called but they’re essentially(2) flaky buttery shortbread cookies stuffed with dulce de leche. They were definitely good but very rich and not anything super special. I wouldn’t go out of my way to order it but if it was ever in front of me again, I would definitely eat it: P Come give this place a shot my fellow foodie bears! I’ll definitely be back!

Even though they’ve moved, the food hasn’t changed and that is a good thing(seco de res and lomo a caballo — mmmmmmm). I like the new space with its booths and non-stop futbol. More than one server is also a plus.

What an amazing experience! Today, after a long day of work, my hubby, a friend and me decide to reward ourselves with good and yummy Peruvian food. So, what a better option that Tumi? Today we had the Jalea Tumi(seafood mix Peruvian stile) so so yummy… then, we had arroz con mariscos,(seafood rice) OMG… everything was delicious… Prices are appropriate to the portion and quality of the food. Don’t miss it, you are not going to regret it!

I just ate here for the first time a couple of weeks ago, at the new location. I definitely had higher expectations for this place that it did not come close to meeting. The food seems great for hangovers, but if you are not sporting one then you will probably think very little of the food like I did. It is also grossly overpriced. The food portions are regular and you will not have any leftovers to bring home. Our meal started off with the Huancaina con Camaron… which is described well on the menu. It is a boiled potato with one small slice of boiled egg on top. A few small overcooked and shelled shrimp. $ 9. They must make a ton of money charging people $ 9 for 1 potato and a few small shrimp. I ordered the Saltado de Camarones and my boyfriend ordered the Tallarin Salteando de Carne. My plate was french fries with a bunch of onions and some more small shrimp on top. $ 16. They did not bring out the correct plate for my boyfriend(which the waitress even recommended to us)…instead they brought him Lomo Saltado which was the same thing as mine but with a few strips of beef(on top of french fries and onions). $ 12. I do not recommend this spot unless you have a hangover and money to throw at basic food. We will not be returning. The only reason this spot got the 2nd star is because the waitress was nice.

This place moved to this location. All of the reviews disappeared from the other location. The food is very authentic peruvian food. Recommend the Lomo saltado or the Seco de Carne. Or any seafood dish. Also try one of the many unique appetizers. My mom was Peruvian, so I crave this food.

Came to eat Peruvian food today and everything was really good, friendly service and awesome food! We have been to other Peruvian restaurants in the past few years and this is by far the best experience. Thank you!
