This company has a telemarketing operation that cold calls numbers in Phoenix and tries to sell their services. This is slimy behavior. Don’t do business with them!

This company is a complete rip off-never use them!!! They came out for a regular maintenance call, ended up telling us that we needed a new fan motor and starter switch and wanted $ 1400 for it. I told my husband that was too much, but he was worried we would have problems if we didn’t just do it. Later, we called a friend who is an ac tech in California and asked him about it. He said that should have only cost around $ 500 total as the fan motor costs $ 150. We called Solar/Papa Bear back and told them we were overcharged and wanted a refund, explaining the situation. Well you guessed it, they told us too bad so sad. We told them we were going to post this on Unilocal, and they said go for it, so here it is… They suck!!!

Writing a follow up… I am thoroughly disapointed. They did their best, I must say that, but apparently they don’t know ‘that’ much about ductless units because although they added freon and did something else, which I’m not sure, there were still problems, after $ 900. We had the guys come out again and they checked but could not find a problem. and then a different guy came out and he said there was a problem in the electrical. Well, I don’t know about you, but I like to actually have clarity about a problem and then deal with it. This didn’t happen and I feel like there might have been unecessary work done. If I were you, no matter who you go with, make sure they find out the exact problem before they start charging for their services. We have a Fujitsu, ductless unit in our master bedroom and our little casita. We have had problems since we moved here a year and a half ago with this system and not many serivices know just how to deal with this type. Their name was on the Fujitsu site as a provider. My husband called and of course, they came out a day later. They told us that they could work on it but not until the next day. That was fine, but we were hoping they would fix it so our guests could enjoy a cool room. They were kind enough to come out on a Saturday, so that was a plus, and they fixed it so that it was bearable, not quite working up to potential, meaning when it was set on 78, it still felt over 80. We called and told them and they sent someone out the next week. He still couldn’t find anything else that needed to be done. I forgot to tell you how much it had cost us already…$ 900. Yep, A lot for it not to be working quite right still. My husband called and spoke with the owner who sent someone out a few days after the call. That person told us it would be an additional $ 2400, only to be told at a later phone call that we may have to replace the whole thing for $ 6000. I’m going to write a follow up becasue as of yet, my husband and I haven’t decided what to do. The service people here are nice enough and I believe they do their best, but I’m confused, as is my husband, about exactly what to do next other than replace the whole thing. We spoke with a service rep at Fujitsu and told them what the repair guy said and they said we definately should not have to replace the whole unit based on what they told us is wrong. The unit is only 4 years old. I will definately write a follow up here. Update about nine months later… I just will never, ever go to these guys again. No, don’t recommend.
