Love Loft, but usually do my shopping online as I know my Loft size very well. Went into this store a while back to pick up something that was sold out online, but was available in this store. Looked around the store and couldn’t find it. A very friendly and helpful saleswoman helped me when I described to her the sweater I was looking for. She couldn’t find it either, but said she remembered seeing that sweater in the store recently. I tried to pull up the sweater’s listing on the website so they could get the number from it, but because by now it was sold out online, the online listing was gone. The salesperson went to get a manager to help me and I found the manager to be very rude and condescending. She said she’d never seen a sweater like the one I described and gave me an attitude that made me feel very bad about shopping there. I felt humiliated. I can’t remember exactly what she said, I just remember feeling like she was implying that this wasn’t a store I should/was welcome to shop at. Fortunately the sweater became available online again and I purchased it, but I was very disappointed in this store and won’t visit it again.

I visited this location yesterday with my family to exchange some items that I bought online. I wasn’t happy with my online purchase and thought that I might find something I liked better in the store. When I entered the store, the alarm went off, possibly detecting my return items, that is when we will call her, Sales Associate 1, immediately approached me to ask if I had returns. I told her yes, and then she asked if I wanted to keep the items up front, which I declined. She then asked as she followed me through the store if she could help me find anything, I politely told her that I was fine and that I didn’t need her help. A few minutes later another sales person spotted me, we will call her Sales Associate 2, and asked if I needed assistance, I told her as well that I was okay. A few seconds later I picked up an item to see if I wanted to try it on and was accosted once again by Sales Associate 1, «can I get you a room?» I responded, «No thanks, I’m fine.» By now I was getting irritated, my husband was irritated as well and said out loud, «these sales people don’t seem to get that we want to be left alone.» I walked to the other side of the store to get away from Sales Associate 1 and found another item and was again quickly confronted by Sales Associate 2 and asked, «Can I start a room for you?» I gave her my item to get her off my back but then I found something else and Sales Associate 1 approached me for now the third time and said, «Can I take that for you?» At this point I was beyond irritated so I told her, «no, I’d rather hold onto it.» She then said under her breath, «I am just trying to help.» Eventually I went into the dressing room and seconds later Sales Associate 1 entered and said, «Can I get any sizes for anyone?» After having been«helped» several times and after the dressing room incident I decided to stop looking, return my items and leave. Being a woman of color I can’t help but feel that I was being racially profiled. I made it clear on several occasions to the sales staff that I wanted to be left alone to browse but instead I was followed around the store and made to feel like a criminal. I have been a long time customer of both Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft but after this experience, I am hesitant to shop at either store again.

Love Love Love Ann Taylor LOFT! Step into my closet, and you’ll probably see more than a handful of LOFT tags on the rack. This store is great for business casual clothing and your everyday threads. Flattering fits(petite included), quality apparel, trendy-yet-classic styles and darling dresses are the things that keep me coming back time and time again. At the same time, it’s hit or miss. Is LOFT apparel a bit on the pricey side? Absolutely. But go into the Ann Taylor store a few shops down, and you’ll come running back as if someone were chasing you with a Taser. On that note, once you become a LOFT Insider(e-mail) you will find that they hold some serious sales on the regular. Forty percent off and higher. If you plan your trips right, you can come away with some steals. There’s also a credit card with rewards. Personally, haven’t opened one. And probably won’t. Sales Associates are genuinely sweet ladies and never pushy on getting you to purchase anything. More than helpful if you ever need input on how an ensemble looks, or where to start on finding a look that best suits you.

I don’t usually review stores like this, they are kinda all the same! But I had such amazing service here this weekend despite how busy it was that I couldn’t resist. I went in because they had 40% of everything in the store including sale merchandise. I got skirts for under $ 20 a piece! While in the fitting room, the women working that area was amazing she was running around getting everyone different sizes/colors, etc. She was super helpful. Probably the best service I have ever had in a store. She was pleasant and very patient.

One of my tiny sister’s favotite stores. I’ve been a few times for a slurge, and loved it. They carry casual and career clothing, and have a good selection of petite sizes. This isn’t Target, folks, so don’t go expecting to get a drop-dead gorgeous dress for twenty buck. But the quality is high. Sometimes, you get what you pay for.
