This restaurant has been in Chandler for as long as I can remember. Fun and relaxing«Rocky Point» style atmosphere in the middle of old-town Chandler. It will be missed. Adiós Guedos!

Simple and great every time. If this place ever closes it will be a loss for anyone that likes and appreciates good Mexican food.

Fish burrito??? More like fish TAQUITO. This thing was like the size of the taquitos you get in the frozen aisle at Safeway. Tiny piece of fish inside. It wasnt a fish burrito, it was a tortilla burrito, like bread rolled up with nothing in it. The salsa tasted like it came out of a can from walmart, and the chips couldnt be plainer, they tasted like eating card-board dropped in a fryer. Will never come back here. And cash only, wtf??? get a credit card machine, its almost 2016. Other than that, everything was pretty good.

Ambience is awesome and food is even better and for the price… The answer to returning is, duh! Just be sure to bring cash because unfortunately they do not accept card

Big Con… Cash only — ATM available but for a $ 3 charge.(To be fair they will take $ 2 off your meal to make up for it, but you still end up adding an extra $ 1 to your meal and honestly, it was probably the worst taco I have ever had. After being told their fish taco was the best I would ever have in my life I ordered one fish taco and one carne asada taco. The fish tasted like freezer fish and was literally a deep fried fish stick… and I do mean stick as in it looked like a lincon log and didn’t resemble fish at all. Carne was bland, dry and btw…$ 8.50 for two, tiny street tacos and a small drink! Not even a side of rice and beans… nothing! Far too expensive for such small portions and mediocre food. The people were nice enough, but have major improvements to do to the menu. I would say they earned their 3.5 rating.

Horrible. Food overpriced, no service, dark dingy atmosphere. The only good thing about it is the location.

The #1 thing I miss about Arizona. This unassuming place sets the standard for all Mexican food for yours truly. So simple and yet such superb quality and flavors. Sometimes I feel like driving from Dallas to Chandler JUST for the rice tacos. I quit eating meat in ’09, but would probably make an exception for those chicken tacos even. So good!

Guedo is a Mexican food God. I’ve been going here my entire life, many years, every meal I’ve had here has been spectacular. Do yourself a favor drop what you’re doing and stuff your face with food that not even the gods are worthy of in an awesome atmosphere.

If you come here don’t complain about having to pay cash. Deal with it. Most places have a few specialty items on their menu and Guedo’s is their Shrimp Tacos. By far the best I’ve ever had. The rest of the selections are good or okay. Don’t order the chicken, if you order the chicken and give the place a bad review that’s your own fault. It’s like going to steak house and ordering the chicken and then being offended that the chicken sucks. The quesadillas are great. The shrimp anything is amazing. If you get anything else then it’s probably not going to meet your standards. Just get Shrimp tacos, shrimp quesadillas, or anything else with Shrimp. If you want chicken or pork go to Chipotle.

I love this place and have been going for at least 20 years now. Probably longer, Eddie used to take a vacation over the summer and we would fill our fridge with tacos to hold us over. Price for food is on par with everywhere now. People complain about taco prices but it’s as reasonable as a Filibertos and the food is 10x better. Sure they charge a fee for credit cards but as a small business owner I understand. There isn’t a ton of margin in food service and unless you rely on huge tabs or multi franchise merchant fee discounts they seriously cut into your bottom line. Easy enough to stop by the cash spitter before you get there. Tips: The plain cheese quesadilla is amazing especially when topped with their chunky mild salsa. The chicken has a great flavor and the carne and pork aren’t anything to dismiss. I usually order a cheese quesadilla, mix taco(beef and pork) and a chicken taco. Then decide what taco I want to eat there and then take one and half a quesadilla home.

The original taco shop of Chandler. Authentic Mexican fare in downtown Chandler. This place is a landmark. Back bar had a sand floor an the feel of old Mexico.

I wanted to like this place, but I simply can’t, because it sucks. Pros: location, the cool mexican beach look, free jolly ranchers. Cons: the food, the prices, the lack of variety in menu. I got a steak quesadilla that had hardly any cheese… wtf…the meat is flavorful until you learn why. The meat is super fatty, glands galore, and chewy forever. So gross. The prices were definitely up there. The owner guy is super nice but a bit shady… he calls the bean burrito«veggie» even though it’s made with lard. He said that still makes it veggie. I guess that’s why he thought my steak was still«steak» despite it being a butchers throwaways. Sell this place and create a new hot spot with good food and I bet it’ll get packed.

Hands down best tasting and authentic food. Steak tortas and tacos are addicting and Guedo is the coolest. Definitely a must try for everyone in phoenix

I stopped in for a couple of beers one evening with my brother. Guedo s is a pretty cool place. The patios are big and have a tropical theme. Nice tropical bar and good happy hour specials. I hear they have really good steak tacos and will be checking them out in the next week. The owner was bar tending that evening and he was a nice fellow. This place is really close to downtown Chandler and would be a great place to bring a group of friends.

Been going to Guedo’s for many years now and still have the best tacos n salsa bar. Everything is freshly made and reminds us of our many trips to Rocky Point and the amazing food we enjoy on our trips! ¡Muchas gracias por la comida mas fina, Guedo!

Guedo’s has been around forever; I remember going there a few times probably before I was 10 years old. However, while the food is decent enough, it’s overpriced. Take the tacos, for instance. The beef and chicken taste pretty good, but not for $ 3 a piece(more if you add on cheese, etc), especially when there is no service involved, akin to a fast food restaurant. Factor in that it’s a hole in the wall type establishment(which I’m absolutely fine with) and the prices should definitely be more reasonable. The fact that they charge for using a credit card is also absolutely ridiculous. I didn’t receive a spiel about how transaction fees are killing small businesses like some of the others here(and everyone, including the owner, was nice enough), but the fee they charge their customers is obviously inflated and aimed at turning a bit of a profit, despicable. The transaction fees they pay are part of doing business and should be incorporated into the overall prices of their food(which are already too high). This sort of practice will harm their business far more than the transactions fees they have to pay ever would.

Quick and easy… food matches the price. Selection of items could be expanded on. but its pretty much just a taco shop. Meat was well seasoned… Would stop by again if i was passing by and had a craving.

ok… not that good, not horrible. First I had no cash and got charged $ 1.50 to use my Visa debit card so my ‘lunch special’ that was $ 6.99 ended up being $ 13 with a drink. Portions were small, bean were a bit watery. Had two carne asada tacos, not much flavor and the steak was cut in to big chunks, not normal for Carne Asada from my experience. Tortillas seemed store bought and fell apart while eating. There you have a honest review. will add a pic.
