I will attest to the unprofessionalism, rudeness, and unethical billing practices of Karrie Hensen. The diagnostic was in Sept of 2014 and the whole time(and even BEFORE the procedure) she assure us it is covered 100% by our insurance. She even called United Health Care(supposedly) to confirm is was going to be covered. We keep getting invoiced for nearly 2 years, and we keep calling back for nearly two years. Each time Karrie tells us not to worry it will be covered, and it just needs to be submitted again. She asks us to call our insurance and United Healthcare tells us they reimbursed at the contracted rate; however, Karrie tells us they did not pay the contracted rate. So one of these parties is not telling the truth. So after all this back and forth we are sent to collections without the professional courtesy of a phone call to request payment. The collections agency adds almost $ 150 to the bill! I have filed complaints with the AZ Medical Board and the Attorney Generals Office of the State of Arizona. DONOT believe anything the billing department tells you at this provider. It is a shame one of the top cardiologist’s medical practice is compromised by the lack of professionalism of his staff.

I had a consultation with Dr. Shakoor in May of 2015 and he was fantastic. He paid attention to my concerns and educated me on the spot. I appreciated his manners. Yesterday I had an appointment for a STRESSTEST with MARIA and I really can’t say enough. I was nervous, as this involves a treadmill on steep inclination and speed increases up to 3.5(at least). Yes — I was stressing long before the electrodes were unpackaged to measure, but Maria’s easy-going persona helped to ease me though the process. I’m not a heart patient, I’m a concerned person whose family has a history of heart disease and I heard that early detection does wonders on the QUALITY of LIFE. I’m glad Maria was the tech to get me through the stress test, I haven’t gotten the results yet — but I feel good about them. I also had an ECHOCARDIOGRAM by CAMMI. Her professionalism, knowledge of trade and equipment was conveyed as I expressed how nosey a writer/documentarian can really be. I must have asked 50 questions related to the x-rays and the functions of the highlighted ventricles. The echo session took about 20 minutes and I emerged a smarter gal. The only drawback of this awesome office [-2 Stars] is the UNBELIEVABLEWAITTIME associated with your appointment time. In MAY I was 15-minutes early to my first appoint and didn’t see the doctor until 45-minutes after log-in. Yesterday I was 6-minutes early to my second appointment and I didn’t get to go back for the stress test until 44-minutes had passed. I am very patient and always happy whenever my name is called, however I do want to mention that the office lobby was empty at 1:54pm yesterday when I arrived. The office was swelling with patients by 2:38pm when my name was finally called to go back. I’m kind of baffled as to why there’s such a long wait time before actually being seen for services? 30−45mins is quite an offset. Other than that, I have rather enjoyed the services provided by Dr. Shakoor and his staff at the Cardiology Center. Their knowledge of cardiology is my QUALITYLIFE gain. Thanks Doc, Maria and Cammi!

Carrie in the billing department was so rude and unhelpful. I’ve never encountered a more unprofessional and non-empathetic person especially when they made an error on my account. She would not help rescind my account from collections even though it was only $ 20 and I was never billed at the correct address(their fault again). I would’ve paid over the phone, but again she would less then helpful. Asked for her supervisor and she said she was the supervisor, although I’m she reports to someone.
