I have had a very bad year with Staley Road Storage /​Bentley Builders. 2 stars; would not recommend.
First, the good. The storage units are well-​maintained, there’s lots of light, and the security has been upgraded since I moved my stuff in. Very clean, and easy to get to.
Now, the bad. At some point, someone (not the staff – apparently its a common problem) cut the lock off my unit. I was never called, I received no letter, NOTHING. I had no chance to purchase a new lock – my stuff was just sitting there for anyone to take. Eventually, the staff noticed this, but instead of calling me then, in case it was an oversight the first time, they simply locked my unit with one of their locks and placed my cut lock into my unit.
ALL WITHOUT INFORMING ME. When I went to move my stuff out, one of the staff had to come out and unlock my unit. Luckily for me, it was during their (erratic) office hours, not on a Saturday afternoon as I’d originally planned.
As to the office hours: more than once, I’d go to their office or call, and they’d be already gone. Their posted office hours are until 5pm, but the staff seems to leave early more often than not. (In the interest of full disclosure, the woman I talked to recently said that this issue was with a now former employee, but…)
Overall, I would NOT recommend renting from them. Though they are the least-​expensive storage in town ($ 5/​mo less than everywhere else) it’s just not worth the hassle. I’m also having a «discussion» with them regarding my security deposit; I will update this review with the results of that when it’s taken care of.
