It’s hard to write a review on a nursing home, which I guess is why no one has yet. My grandma was recently placed here, and years ago I remember my grandpa being here. It’s an older facility, and they fit a lot of people in here. Many rooms have 4 people in them, some have 2. Not much privacy. They seem to have plenty of staff to care for the residents. That’s not to say the staff sits around twiddling their thumbs, they’re always busy! My grandma says everyone she interacts with is nice. She’s the type that would tell us if someone wasn’t nice, too! She gets physical therapy 5 times per week to help keep strength in her legs and arms to help keep her mobile. Laundry comes daily to wash her clothes and return them. Nurses help dress her and undress her, wash her off, and give her meds to her. Showers are only once per week, which I feel isn’t often enough. Perhaps she could request two per week, I do not know. The rooms are very crowded, and she has fallen once in her bathroom due to slippery floors. There seem to be a lot of trip hazards in the rooms with having 4 people. They do keep things tidy though as far as trash and whatnot. This facility has several nice outside areas. They’re courtyards, filled with plants and flowers to make it nice. Residents can visit with family out there to get away from the dull, drab, depressing interior. They also have benches in the hallways you can sit in, and there are nice big windows in those hallways. The facility provides daily activities. They offer Bingo, music, other games, and Sunday church services. My grandma seems to like the food. They don’t get a daily choice, unless they have restrictions, but I do believe they offer a sandwich instead of the hot meal if someone chooses. Seats at dining tables are assigned, but they can request to be moved if they desire. Parking at the facility is ample, and even on weekends there are plenty of spaces. It’s really hard to rate a place like this. It’s not fancy or what I’d call«nice» but it serves its purpose. Going there can be depressing and emotionally draining, and that’s before you see your relative! If you have to put a family member here, rest assured it’s not all that bad, care wise.
