Shoemaker Chiropractic

I’m pretty leery of going to a new chiropractor — not all of them are good. And being in a strange town, you never know who you can trust. A muscle cramp between my shoulderblades nearly incapacitated me, so I asked co-​workers if they had any recommendations. On of them said «Shoemakers», so I made an appointment. They were only 4 blocks from where I work and got me in that afternoon. After the preliminary paperwork and a questionnaire, Dr. Shoemaker himself examined me — rather than leave it to one of his associates. He put me on the electric stimulators and roller table — which all by itself was worth the trip. Then he adjusted my back. Perfectly. Within 10 minutes, the pounding headache I had all day was gone and I could move again. Still a bit stiff, but that was to be expected. When I go to a chiropractor, I want the hands-​on, major bone crunching adjustments. I got them here, although i think he will use other, less strenuous methods if you prefer. This guy is great. I wish he was in my hometown.

Dr Shoemaker has exceeded my expectations and is one of the best doctors I’ve ever met. Yes saying that I met him is one thing but being treated by him as a patient is another.
At work I was picking up a box and trying to put it on top of a third box. This was bad because I hurt myself and ended up having to call workers comp to find some recommendations for doctors close to home.
It’s how I found Shoemaker. This guy is great. I was so impressed with the service from the staff. I remember at one point, after my first visit, it must have been about 7:30 pm and I received a phone call from one of the technicians checking to see if I drove home ok with no pain.
I told Dr Shoemaker that I drove a manual so I had to constantly shift gears and it was hurting my shoulder when I did shift up and down. At any rate, Dr Shoemaker is not a stranger to most people in the area. He works with alot of the Broadway productions actors and actresses who perform locally or are passing through on a show. Also, he works with many wrestlers, whether or not they are WWF Pros Im not sure, but judging from the pictures, they just look menacing.
I can assure you that he is the most sincere doctor I’ve ever met. After going through so many doctors office who just rush in and out, this particular doctor was very refreshing.

Amy who performs massages as well does wonders. She has this heated warm blanket you lay under while she kneads away —I just wanted to sleep. I’ve been to Belladonna and the spa at most resorts and none of them made me feel this way. She has a true gift. The best
This is a little gem in Chalmette, also, on certain days, there is a regular medical doctor that comes in. Doc has a location on the Northshore in Slidell and is currently renovating his facilities to accommodate the large amount of patients coming by daily.
Parking lot in the front and on the side of the building is available. He accepts medicaid, insurance, workers comp, just call to make sure before you make the trek out there.
He does take walk-​ins but it’s ideal to make an appointment. Thank goodness he opens til 6pm.
