Springhouse Furnishings

We had Springhouse make us a kitchen center island counter top. We wanted a reclaimed wood piece. Anne worked with us to achieve the color we wanted as we were very specific about that. We are thrilled with the piece. Anne was able to get us a thick finished piece that was also important to us. The finish is beautiful and is exactly what we wanted.
We also bought an antique coffee table from Springhouse. It’s a fun store to browse around.

My husband and I bought a reclaimed dining table from Springhouse over the summer. It is absolutely beautiful, we love it. We had a bad experience ordering a different reclaimed table from a company off of Etsy, sight unseen. So this time, we went to Chadds Ford directly to see Anne’s (the owner’s) work. She really does an amazing job. Really high quality work. And the shop has really nice furniture pieces.
The only reason the review is 4 stars instead of 5 is because, similar to what the previous reviewer wrote, the responsiveness to e-​mails and calls was a bit slow– we had to check in periodically, but we always received a response. The table was ready a month later than we expected, but it was worth the wait.

I stopped in early September to see Anne, one of my favorite shops when I am in the area. I was looking for a new island for my kitchen. She was busy with other customers so I do what I always do and strolled around her shop getting inspired by all of the beautiful things from tabletop décor, to unusual fabric designs to one of a kind architectural elements. I fell in love with the handmade tables she has in any size you want and own two of her pieces already. I placed my order for my island and expected it to take 3 months as these are not pieces coming from a furniture factory. These pieces are custom designed, hand-​crafted and then custom finished. I would have been thrilled to get it by Thanksgiving but didn’t expect to. Well under promise and over deliver she did. Anne even delivered it in person 6 weeks later! We’ve had it for almost a month now and it is the centerpiece of our kitchen and home. We are a family that loves to cook and this piece allows the whole family to be together around the island, while I teach my kids how to cook. It’s more than just a piece of furniture, it’s a place we make memories. Thank you Anne for the time you take to make these pieces extra special. See you in the spring!

I first worked with Anne in the Spring of 2013 when I asked her to make the tables and chairs for Little Nonna’s on Locust St. in Midtown Village. We chose custom reclaimed table tops and an assortment of classic kitchen chair profiles. She got everything to us on a fairly short timeline, all at a very fair price and with the hand finishes I specified. Her furniture is beautiful, and she can custom design pretty much anything you can envision.
Anne has been in the business for a while, and has the knowledge to back that up. Every time my partner and I go to Springhouse we learn something about the history of the furniture, vintage upholstery pattern work, or the provenance of her latest reclaimed barn. Every piece she makes is hand done and high quality, and very reasonably priced. A great small, local business — we will continue to invest in her pieces as we grow our home!

I have been a fan for the past 8 years of Anne’s work. She is talented, invested and so in tune with what you ultimately want to achieve from her custom furniture. With her you get quality, a genuine spirit and happiness for years to come. Thank you Anne for the pieces you have created for me I could not be more happy!!!

Happened to be up in Chadd’s Ford today. Driving up I saw an Antique store up on a hill, that I thought would be great to stop by on my way home. As I I got back that way, I found Springhouse right before it. So glad I did! When I pulled in, I immediately saw two bedside tables that I knew would be the perfect fit for our new bedroom! We have a custom made into the wall bed that made for smaller than normal dimensions for side tables. I had almost given up hope of finding anything (we have been using paint cans to fill in — not ideal). Until today! These two side tables are exactly what we have been looking for. While I was there I found another totally unique, beautiful piece that will be a great place to put our family photos. The prices are very reasonable too. Anne, the owner, has a great eye for pieces and what goes with what. We love reclaimed wood items and her furniture is amazing! So glad that I found Springhouse!

Worst person to deal business with. Ann the owner will tell you that your piece will be ready in a month. When she says one month she mean 3 months. She won’t return your phone calls or emails. This is the second time I have placed an order with her. The first time I was patient I thought she was just behind on her pieces. Second time I had to cancel my order because she is so unprofessional! She wouldn’t answer my calls or emails. After I canceled my order I found out that’s how she runs her business. Supposedly she has a lot of pissed customers waiting on furniture pieces!
