The sushi is very good and the service is good. Can’t wait to go back. Great job.

Very good and reasonably priced. Simple no fuss setting. Everything was fresh including the spring rolls. A nice variety of sushi rolls even for the vegetarian or those with allergies. Highly recommended.

Fresh, beautiful, delicious and at a very reasonable price. Hands down the best sushi in the area. They offer other choices besides sushi, but the sushi is what I come for. The staff are friendly and you can tell the sushi chefs really take pride in their work. Each roll we’ve ordered is a masterpiece in both flavor and presentation. The only downside is when it gets busy it can get loud and there’s somewhat limited seating so the waits can run on the long side. But that’s the price you pay for great sushi, and it’s nothing that can’t be solved by arriving early or calling ahead. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a sushi fix in this area.

This place it a little out of the way for me, but it is worth the travel. Awesome sushi and unique roll options.

First, it is part of a small strip mall, this difficult to see from the road. Second, it is BYOB. Next, the service was outstanding. Finally, I had a simple mean edamame and spicy tuna for $ 11 and it was really good.

Not bad but not great either, I’m guessing people have different standards when it comes to sushi depending where you’re from. Being that I live in SoCal I was hoping this place would live up to the 4 star reputation but it definitely fell short. The oysters were awesome but the sushi just wasn’t as «fresh» as I’m used to and the edamame(something I thought was impossible to mess up, was extremely soggy) the Salmon sashimi tasted good but I’m shocked by how small the slices were since they were less than half the size I’m used to and cost more to boot. Overall I wasn’t impressed but I also didn’t hate it, I just likely won’t be back and will probably just wait on eating sushi again till I get back to California or when I’m dining in the city.

They have pretty good sushis and sashimi. Great deserts — try the chocolate truffle and you won’t regret. Considering the portion of the foods the price is on a higher end. but BYOB balance it out. BYW I won’t come if i was searching for some place with fine decoration and romantic feel. The place looks ‘fast’ and crowded.

Go to Sakura Japanese Restaurant instead. Prices are similar, Sakura Japanese Restaurant has better quality of fish I ordered a roll with eel, cucumber, and avocado and another roll with spicy tuna Quality was lacking, parts of the eel and spicy tuna were chewy Prices weren’t bad, but again, I’d much rather go to Sakura Japanese Restaurant. Not interested in returning here

20 min from downtown wilmington I got the salmon avocado($ 5) and chicken pad thai($ 13). The salmon avocado roll was packed with salmon and avocado and I think 5 bucks is pretty cheap for 6 decent sized rolls. The chicken pad thai was a good amount that would prob feed 2 people if you get some rolls on the side. I was super hungry and ate everything. I saw other people order the specialty rolls, looked good! Service is friendly, place is clean, and food comes out pretty quickly. BYOB!!!

Best spicy tuna roll!!! We used to live nearby but now drive from an hour away to get our sushi fix. Rolls are really small so make sure to order enough but the quality can’t be beat.

Came here on a last minute whim because my other spot closed down. My friend and I started with the appetizer sampler and then did the chefs choice for the entrée. The chefs choice has three options and is meant for two people. We did the $ 80 price point and thought it was well worth it as you get two starters before the actual sushi. The sushi comes with 10 pieces of nigiri, five different types, and three specialty rolls. Not sure if I would go the same route next time I come back because I’ve had better chef’s choice specials but overall the sushi was excellent.

Ordered a $ 28 baked sea bass, got a small piece of deep fried fish on a big plate with a pink flower flower and a leaf. When I told I don’t want it they came one after another explaining they can’t take it back. In general — overpriced mediocre food.

OK, My wife and I have been eating sushi since 1980, so when I say Masamoto is a great place to have sushi… believe it. We have been here over a dozen times and we have NEVER had a bad experience. Service is good and Ukiee the owner/hostess is very accommodating. Her husband is the owner chef and does a awesome job along with the others chefs kicking it out. Décor is so-so but so what you’re there for the food. Stop by you will not be disappointed. For those that experience… it is a BYOB!

Fantastic sushi and asian BYOB restaurant in Glen Mills near Glen Eagle shopping center. Been here a few times with friends and have always had great experiences here. It gets pretty busy around 7pm and probably because it’s the best sushi place in the area. When it is very busy, sometimes the service lowers but that is to be expected at any restaurant. I had a chance to chat with the owner recently and learned that fresh fish are hand picked by him straight from the Philadelphia fish market and later served to customers. Can’t get more fresh than that! Sushi: Tons of choice for rolls. If you like the staples such as California/Philly/Spicy Tuna/etc then they have those. If you like speciality rolls then they have around 40 of them. They have an adequate selection of vegetarian rolls including eggplant/sweet potato/oshinko and more. My friends and I usually order the Sashimi Platter which is always served on top of ice which keeps the fish at an ideal temperature. A friend of mine who is a sashimi enthusiant commented on their excellent quality. Although I have yet to order the Omakase(chefs choice), it is something that I want to try asap! The only gripe I have about the sushi is that I am used to and prefer a bit more rice on my rolls. Everything is still delicious though. Entrees: They have a great selection of noodles(lo mein, pad thai, udon, chow ho fun, phở), meat dishes(peking duck, general tso, teriyaki), fish(golden fish, sea bass, salmon), rice dishes(curry, fried rice), and they even have crab cakes and Korean Kal-Bi if you like that. Masamoto is great for a date, family dinners, or just a night out with friends. Update 4⁄15: After having gone to several different sushi places in the area, none compares to Masamoto… Even their entrees are top notch.

Unilocal you’re wrong, masamoto is open Sundays. Anyways, sushi here is decent. Fish isn’t the freshest but if you’re looking for rolls you could do worse. The standouts are the Vietnamese roll, spicy scallop roll, rainbow roll, Dragon roll and Godzilla roll. The rest were ok: masamoto, rainbow and sashimi. Prices are good relative to regular and specialty rolls. Apps were lacking but it’s a sushi place so I didnt mind. Places started to fill up on a Sunday evening.

Masamoto is a cost friendly sushi spot that I recommend trying if you’re in the Glen Mills, Chadds Ford area. It’s also easily accessible from Delaware, specifically the Concord area and Media. We ordered a few rolls and chicken pad thai. The pad thai is probably not one of their specialties, but it is really good. It has a very sweet taste to it. They garnish it with a lot of bean sprouts, so if bean sprouts is not really your thing, tell them to hold off on the bean sprouts. As for the rolls, we ordered four: King Crab, Dynamite, Black Dragon and an Eel and Cucumber roll. The King Crab roll contained crab of course, mango, avocado and tobiko. It wasn’t bad, but not one of the best rolls I’ve had. The Dynamite roll contains smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado, tempura kani, jalapeño and spicy chilli sauce. This roll was interesting because your taste buds are hit with the savory taste of smoked salmon and a little bit of spice between the sliced jalapeño and the chilli sauce. The Black Dragon roll was delicious. It contained shrimp tempura, avocado(I swear this is in about 95% of their rolls) and caviar topped with eel. I’ve come to realize I really like sushi with eel more and more. It just has a great taste when combined with the right ingredients. The eel and cucumber roll was simple, but also taste good. I definitely plan to visit again. I recommend you give this place a try. Oh, and I forgot to mention that it is B.Y.O.B. You can’t go wrong with that.

Disappointed is the best word to use to describe how I feel about my experience here. I chose this place as it seemed to have some decent reviews but I really was not impressed. I was seated at my table and it seemed a little empty. There was a napkin, my chopsticks and my glass of water. I thought there should have been a plate or something to put my sticks down on but I guessed they would bring it out with my food. I ordered the calamari as an app and a few special sushi rolls. As soon as my server went into the kitchen, she came right back out with my appetizer. WTH? How could that be? Was it precooked? As I was digging through it it seemed that most of my plate consisted of crumbs and semi warm calamari. I had a small mini boll of chili sauce to dip it in but the bowl was so shallow that I could barely get any. Oh, and still no extra plate. This made eating and moving things around a bit of a chore. My 3 rolls came out and they looked tasty but were also very small. There was no girth to them. When it comes to sushi, size DOES matter, and these rolls were not pleasing me one bit lol. They were tasty but barely an inch thick. If I am spending $ 13 on a specialty roll, I expect more out of it. I could go on and write plenty more about this place but it would only remind me of my disappointment so I will leave it at this. I will not be giving this place a try in the future. The food was tasty but the experience and the satisfaction were far from it. I could have gotten much more for me $ 53 someplace else.
