I wish there was an option for negative points! Baja Fresh imposters! So cheap they don’t even turn on their lights, they serve wilted lettuce with their tostada, their beans were burned in the bean and cheese burrito with their dry chicken and flies near their salsa station… GROSS! Let a lone their lack of customer service skills. Complete disappointment!

I hate franchises. Have I mentioned that in any prior review? Don’t ask me why I decided to give Baja Fresh another shot. Desperation and the late hour — it was still open. I ordered lime shrimp salad thing. It was okay. The shrimp were small and sparse and overcooked. I piled enough tomatillo salsa on them to give them some flavor and moisture. The Michael Unit ordered shrimp tacos. They must have been running out of shrimp because one of his tacos had two shrimp, one of which had been sliced in half to make it appear as if there were more. That pisses me off. The place is decidedly clean because it smells like disinfectant when you walk in. Not exactly the odor I’m expecting right before I shovel food in my mouth. I will read, then read again, then reread again this review of mine before I let anyone convince me to eat at a Baja Fresh. It’s not worthy of occupying space in my belly.

I remember/miss the days when I used to go to the Baja Fresh location in Lakewood which has since closed. Unfortunately, in the past few years the quality is just not the same. I honestly only like going here for the convenience bc it’s NEVER busy(which is kinda sad), I can always just get in and get out with food. The Korean owner is very mean… lol he’s like really rude. But the Korean lady is very nice and friendly. I’m just surprised this location is still open because it never gets busy.

They don’t take Baja Fresh birthday coupons… that sucks… I was really craving a burrito and those ones looked pretty good. Never been to Baja Fresh & I guess I won’t be back to this one after being treated like I’m stupid for trying to use a birthday coupon from the online fan club.

Decided to give this a try. I was standing in front of the counter for 10 minutes waiting to order and the 2 Asian staff only looked at me. Never asked me if I’m going to order. so I walked out and just went to Wingstop.

This is the worst Baja Fresh I have ever eaten at. Everything tastes watered down or cheapened in some way. My steak burrito tasted like the meat was broiled rather than grilled. The salsa looks like it’s been sitting all day and the tortilla was soggy. All the other Baja Fresh joints I’ve gone to toast their tortillas. Highly disappointed with this establishment and its owners. I will not be returning. Ever.

My husband and I came here once because we thought it may be a relatively healthy choice for lunch. I ordered a shrimp salad and he ordered a shrimp burrito. At first everything was fine, salad was what I expected and the burrito was good as far as chain restaurant burritos go. A few bites into my salad I realized that underneath the first layer of greens mold began to be visible. I realized the entire salad was covered in mold. Me and my husband both(obviously) stopped eating and were disgusted. We asked for a refund for our entire meal. Obviously, no one wants to pay for a rotten meal that could very well make them sick! The lady at the counter took my salad and began to shake it around, obviously trying to verify that there was indeed mold in it. That in itself is already unforgivably RUDE in my book. Then she proceeded to refuse to give us a refund for the burrito saying that the burrito is not kept in the same area as the salads and therefore was not subject to a refund due to mold. Disgusting! Never coming back. Don’t come here unless you’re looking for bad service and high priced crappy food laced with mold.

Today I was shopping within the area, then decided to give this location a try. I had my free birthday coupon for a free burrito with the purchase if a soda drink. My wife and I went to this location I was going to purchase my wifes dinner and recieve my free burrito so I thought. The older lady at the counter Idk owner rudely told us they dont take coupons because it’s not CORPORATE! Then walks away from the register… I was like what the heck?! How are customers suppose to know if a location is a corporate restaurant or not?! So my first and last visit to this location! Bad experience in the first minute of entering the restaurant. Not only did it take us about 10 minutes to find parking, going around and around as traffic is horrible and to find a parking spot… I don’t recommend this restaurant if this is how they treat customers. Customer Service Sucks! We were going to buy dinner here without the coupon, but decided not to after she walked away from the register. Didnt even ask if we wanted to order something. Unbelievable! We ended up driving to the Seal Beach location where they took my coupon with a huge brite SMILE! This location is also closer than the Cerritos place. They have the Seal Beach location with plenty of open parking and friendly customer service. Friendly staff. I’ll be coming back to my local Seal Beach location. I’d rather spend my money where service matters. Unlike this Cerritos location. I gave this place in Cerritos one star because I wasnt able to give them a negative –1 !!!

I have never written a review on Unilocal until my recent experience at this specific Baja Fresh location. I have always had a great experience at different Baja Fresh locations. On January the 2nd, I decided to stop by and have dinner at this location and to my surprise the place was practically empty on a Saturday evening. I decided to order the Wahoo fish taco combo this day and a few hours after consuming the food, I began to vomit. I rarely have any food ailment experiences but this experience was horrendous. I am still trying to recover by drinking liquids and etc. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised considering the ratings this location has earned and I recount another Unilocaler mentioning the lack of freshness in the wahoo fish taco. I ordered the wahoo tacos with rice and black beans. Just a terrible experience!

Walked in at 7:15pm to an empty restaurant in a busy foot traffic plaza. I was a little shocked because Baja Fresh used to be busy back then. I haven’t been to one in awhile but the one near my house recently closed so that may tell you something. I ordered a Mexicano burrito which is just basically black beans, rice and pico de gallo. While waiting for my food I grabbed my condiments and there was barely any limes. I asked the cashier if I can have more and he told me that’s it for tonight. It was only 7:15pm. :( I don’t think I’ll be coming back to Baja Fresh. It’s not how it used to be.

Terrible customer service! I came to redeem a coupon for a free burrito for my birthday and was told they wouldn’t take it because they were a franchise, not a corporate location. The guy at the cash register who told me was so rude! He said«Call and find out what corporate location you can go to.» I’ve been going to Baja Fresh for years. I’ve primarily gone to the Torrance and Encino locations. They had excellent customer service. Even though this one is the closest to me, I won’t be going back! So long rude guy!

I had a hankering for some fish tacos and I was in the area so I came to Baja Fresh hoping to satisfy my needs. I was greeted by a Korean cashier who I presume to be the owner’s wife because the Korean gentleman and her were exchanging words in Korean. I was a bit shocked by the way the Korean man had spoken to the customer ahead of me. A customer had brought in a coupon for $ 2 off and the man berated her in front of everyone. He said, «I told you the last time you were here, we don’t accept coupons!!» The woman customer looked shocked as she replied, «You never said that to me before. Well, I’m never coming back here again.» The Korean man looked completely unbothered as he lost another customer. Wow! As a Korean myself, I was offended at how this franchise treats their customers. I read the previous Unilocal reviews of this establishment discriminating children with disabilities and I’m not surprised one bit. There is a certain responsibility and expected level of service even as a franchise owner. I’m sure Baja Fresh has better ethics in place than this! As for the service from the Korean lady, she was very sweet. She even brought my food to my table. However, the food was anything but fresh. I ordered a shrimp taco and wahoo taco. Paltry amount of shrimp, the wahoo fish wasn’t fresh either. Yuck! Two stars for the Korean lady only! Her husband should stay home. He’s ruining the business.

Baja fresh sent me an email for my birthday for a burrito at this location. The owner refused to honor it. He told me to go somewhere else. I’m not going to use bad language and tell you how I really felt about all this. This is not right.

I received a Birthday Certificate from Baja Fresh in my email and this location would not honor it. Wow how is that a nice birthday. I will never eat here. She told me I had to leave. I suggest no one eat here ever.

Horrible service! We decided to eat here instead of Panda on a Saturday. And I regret it. The manager who is Korean man with glasses has the worst customer service ever. He ruined what was suppose to be a nice family dinner out. I even lost appetite while being there because I was so mad at how rude he was. I regret not going to panda instead. Last time my family and I ever eat at this place. I’m going to tell all my friends and family about my experience and tell them to take there money somewhere else. This restaurant doesn’t even deserve one star.

I have always loved Baja Fresh. I had a great first trip(of many) and the lady at the counter is a peach as a few other reviewers have noted. It was pretty empty so I’m not sure if that is reflective of some of the poor reviews but I honestly had no problems here and will be back expediently.

If I could I would have given this place no stars because I witnessed the owners/employees tell a group of students with disabilities to eat outside this is an outrage!

Owner told me that me and my students with disabilities had to eat outside of the restaurant! Are you F*ing serious?! I had 3 students with me, they are adults, well behaved and paying customers. And this idot tells me that he’s worried that they will make too much noise so we have to sit outside. What were they gonna disturb the one other custom that was in there. I will never EAT here again and I will bad mouth this place until the day I die or until the rude Korean owner leaves. I have worked with these students for over 6 years and this was the first time I was ever denied a place to sit inside a restaurant. This place has never been great on my list and I vowed never to go in. However, my favorite Baja Fresh in Cypress(Costco plaza) that used to be the closest store next to their old Corporate office is no more. There is an Indian place there now. I’m disappointed and what was worse was when I received my free burrito for my birthday and try to use it here, they would NOT take it. BTW, the coupon now states that you have to purchase a large drink for you to get the free burrito and steak is not a choice of protein. The lady over the counter told me to go to Lakewood. I understand some stores are corporate and this one in particular is franchised by Koreans. The salsa here never looks great, even while I was waiting to speak to her. I guess I was glad I didn’t get my freebie here as I remembered the last time I was here, I did not feel that great afterwards. I understand all stores operate differently, but I do hope Baja Fresh look into this particular establishment under their corporate guidelines.
