I hate to do this but I have to update my review. I went in this store on Wednesday December 23rd around 10pm to buy a snack and when I went to the register to pay there was a line of at least 20 people and 2 cashiers ringing. The self checkout was closed. The asst manager was walking around with a piece of paper in her hand basically doing nothing. I guess she was too good to open another register and help ring. Finally she did take over a register so the other cashier could go on a break– so basically they still had the same amount of registers. I would think that the day before Christmas Eve they would know that they are going to be busy at night. It really shows the sign of a poorly run store when the manager has such disregard for the front end of the store and feel that is it is ok to let long lines form when there are 8 other registers not being used.

Run of the mill Safeway that had everything we needed in easy to find locations. Downside: very slow cashiers in the express lane. Not sure how that works.

I never recommend coming here. I’ve always had a bad experience and so rarely make it here unless I don’t have time to drive further. This store is literally down the road from where I live and I try to avoid it as much as possible. Rude, incompetent employees. They all seem to band together with the managers to make sure things don’t get done. I’ve been waiting for change that they short changed me(only $ 5 but it’s the principle) I was only supposed to be in the store 15 minutes … Sigh why why why did I come here again? I know better usually.

Review for the gas only. Was fine I guess. Seemed like the nozzle was extra tricky here. Gosh… what to say about a Safeway gas station in Centralia… It was convenient… Yep…that’s all I’ve got.

I personally choose not to do my full grocery shopping anywhere else. I trust Safeway and Vons. I used to shop local until they were bought out. Tried all the bigger stores and found Safeway to be the best all around.

This is for the review of the bathrooms only at this an every Safeway in Olympia, WA. They are consistently disgusting The women s restroom in Centralia is the worst. For a long time it had cracked toilet seats, mold on the ceilings and broken paper towel dispenser. I wrote to the manager, no response, I sent a letter to corporate and got a response. ‘WEHAVELOOKEDINTOTHISMATTERANDOURMANAGERASSURESUSITHASBEENRESOLVED” Nope. So I took several pictures and sent THOSE to corporate. Well that did get results, toilet was fixed, mold on ceiling removed. However it has since gone downhill again. I only use the bathroom there if i absolutely have to. The bathroom at rest stops are cleaner. It makes me wonder how clean are the areas you can’t see. We only shop there for the fuel discount only. Otherwise we go to Winco or Hagen Foods(both have very clean bathrooms. If you are in the area, go over to the outlet mall across the street, they have very clean bathrooms. I am not one of those people terrified of germs, but really if you have to use a facility, you shouldn’t have to see a dirty bathroom.

A very busy Safeway! Parking appears to be the biggest challenge. This must be the only pharmacy in town because there always seems to be a long line. Otherwise it’s clean, well attended with lots of ready to eat items as well as the usual supermarket fare.

I’m so sick of this Safeway. I travel for work and hit Safeways in 5 other towns. Order the express special at the chinese food counter and THEYWEIGH the amount of entrée. They claim«every Safeway does it this way» sorry, but your the only one who does. If you want the entrée separate? you can’t get a ½ lb… Oh no you have to get a flat rate box @$ 6.99. I fu&*in hate this place!!! Whoever the manager is, your a toss pot.

Ok. The store is clean. But it is totally about Genetically Engineered Frankenfood. Even their«O Organics» is NOT organic. Recently took care of a very sick baby, who’s mom had tried to start the baby on O Organics rice cereal. Each time baby ate that, baby had projectile vomiting. But when that cereal was stopped, baby was fine. I advised the Mom to get rice she knew was really organic, and make cereal of that. Baby did fine on that, too. One man started getting terrible gut pain from eating washed«organic» apples from Safeway. When switched to known, truly organic apples, he had no further problem – and yes, same variety of apples. Man with Chron’s Disease stopped having it, when chemically polluted and GMO foods were removed from his diet. ETC. Allergies and sensitivities, as well as GERD, and other Gastrointestinal troubles, have been increasing greatly, since Genetically Engineered and chemically polluted foods have increased in the food supply. Grains including wheat, rice, etc., soy, peanuts, etc., were some of the earliest GMO’d foods… and guess when we also started having children dying from contact with peanuts? Most often, clients I have cared for, have had total resolution of their health issues, when removed from both GMO and chemically polluted foods. SO…WHY does the food industry think it’s OK to keep adding more of these things to the food supply, and worse, hiding it from people so they cannot make informed choices for themselves? WHY did Safeway and so many other companies, contribute funds heavily to BLOCK labeling of GMO foods? Same thing goes for irradiated foods. Irradiation prevents spoilage of sensitive produce. But, industry does not have to label it, if a food is «processed» in any way – that has included«field washing» of fresh-picked produce… witness: «Organic» blueberries that last over 3 months, and still look fresh. BUYERBEWARE. What industries are selling us as food, is not far removed from being«bomb-shelter food»; that is, empty calories that barely keep the body alive. When people eat that for too much of their diets, they get FAT, SICK, and have many shades of behavioral problems. Sound familiar to anything you are experiencing daily? If We, the People, fail to speak up and contact legislators about what we DO want [actually healthy food, organics that really are…], Industries will railroad real foods out of existence – they nearly have [anti-GMO labeling, hiding irradiation of foods laws, NAIS laws, etc.].

It’s Safeway, so the the prices are not the best in town, but they are not the worst either. This store is always clean and the employees actually seem to know where everything is, a plus in my book as I really do not like to hunt for stuff. There is a Starbucks inside and room for you sit down with a friend and shoot the breeze for a couple of hours. The free WiFi is a plus when you are waiting on a family member. :)

I like Safeway. This spot had what I needed at the time, and I appreciate being able to get in and out of a store quickly. I also appreciate being able to get gas and groceries in the same spot, and accumulating gas discounts by buying groceries. FYI… Safeway got rid of the 3 cent discount for club members.

Why would you get groceries here when you could get them a lot cheaper somewhere else? Just throwing that out there for consumption… So here’s why I don’t like this place: they actually don’t like their patrons! Not kidding. I used to shop at Safeway when it was convenient. Now, I’ll drive out of my way to go somewhere else, like Shop ‘N Kart, rather than go here. This story explains it: I had my car broken in to the day after I moved back to the area from the East Coast. I guess I didn’t realize how methed up everything got here and how classless some of the people had become. Yes, my wallet was in the car, along with a lot of other belongings… it’s what happens when you move cross-country. And I got hit that night. The thieves took my cards and filled up their tank, their buddies tanks and everyone else’s tanks involved at every gas station where they didn’t see cameras. They filled up at the Texaco by Borst Park, but didn’t realize there was a car wash camera. So based on the time of transaction, the manager was able to get us the video. It was hazy and the license plate couldn’t be made out. HOWEVER, they left, and for some reason entered into the Safeway gas station area and ended up driving right through. This was caught on camera. They probably had no idea that, even though they didn’t stop here and make a transaction, they were«followed» here by the Texaco cam. The manager at Safeway? He didn’t care. He wouldn’t let us see the video. I tried to plead to his sense of humanity: I was a regular customer. He still wouldn’t budge. So, I am no longer a customer. You don’t respect me, I won’t respect you. And in case you’re going to ask why I didn’t get the cops to go there, I tried. Centralia cops are worthless. This is the same group of yahoos that went to the credit union while the guy who robbed it sat outside the whole time.

Run in, run out. Get typical Safeway good deals. Wonder why a small town has to hire such ungroomed mad looking people to bag groceries. I had to hand it to the guy behind me in line who offered to shpw me around. well, um, you have a 24 box of beer. in you rcart. Thank you, tho!

Reasonable lunch counter, with sandwiches and other deli items plus an array of Chinese food. There is a nice lounge area, with free wi-fi. Starbucks mini-outlet is there, if that is your thing. For a grocery store, it’s a good combo. Take it to Borst Park if the weather’s nice.

First I LOVE buying gas in Washington. I just love to pump gas. Not sure why. I stop at this Safeway because its about where I run out of gas. Normally the Safeway club card gets you more of a discount… but lately I’ve noticed the other stations on hip to their game and are pricing accordingly. So its not always the cheapest. It is a clean and consistent gas station to stop at. And the store inside is great for all the on the road munchies.
