What a disappointing meal. Truly horrendous service and the food was just awful. The waiter couldn’t be bothered with the four of us, was annoyed at having to explain the specials, did not stop by to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything further. My chicken paillard came cold and stale, my friend’s dish was nothing like it was described. We were charged for food that they never bothered to deliver and of course we could never find our waiter to remind him. Just an all around horrible experience. For the prices, you should be ashamed. Thank God for the view.

Very nice people, great food, great service. The view is special. We always bring our three year old with us and the people at mill pond treated him so well. Great experience.

My husband and I passed this restaurant literally a year ago on a drive and saw they were offered on the Restaurant Week Menu so we decided to try it out. We had reservations for 6:15 on a Saturday night, got there at 6:10 and were seated right away at a beautiful table outside. The view was gorgeous! With that said, my experience left a little to be desired… Our waiter came over to drop off menus. He came back about five minutes later and asked us our drink orders and we received them quickly. While we began to look through the menu, we noticed the restaurant week menu wasn’t there. My husband got up to go ask the waiter if he could bring it to us and he said ok and nothing else. We proceeded to wait almost twenty-five(!!!) minutes for our waiter to come back with the menu. We’re not the kind of people to make a big fuss and the restaurant looked busy so we didn’t want to ask again. Our waiter came over to take our orders and I mentioned I was still waiting for the restaurant week menu. He then told us that he can’t provide it to us because it ends promptly at 7pm and it’s already 6:40. Ok, fine. Why couldn’t you have told us this when we originally asked for it? I felt like he waited and waited and waited to bring it so that he could mention it was way too close to 7pm. At this point, I was a little embarrassed and said ok, I would just need a moment to look at the menu because we had been waiting for twenty minutes for the restaurant week one. The waiter started saying how its at 7pm but he’ll do what he can. It’s not what he said, it’s how he was saying it. At this point, we see a table next to us get up and leave without ordering. The waiter comes back, asks us what we want and we quickly place our order off of the restaurant week menu. As the other two tables are seated, they both ask for the same menus(at this point it’s 6:50). One table doesn’t receive it. The other mentions that they called and asked and the manager had said you could do restaurant week as long as you were seated by 7pm. so they received the menu. Bad business to me. either let everyone order off of it or don’t. Better yet, if you don’t want to participate in restaurant week because it doesn’t bring enough money in on a Saturday night, then don’t! The food was good but we were practically on a food marathon because(I presume) the waiter wanted us done quickly? I’m not sure what happened here. but I won’t be back. The food was good but the service left a very bitter taste.

If a man is only as good as his word, and a business is only as good as its reputation, then the Mill Pond fails miserably on both counts. My husband and I met with their manager to inquire about booking the upstairs room for a private party(my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner). We informed him that we were expecting 34 guests. He assured us that the room would be exclusively ours. We discussed menu options, price per person, seating arrangements, etc. At the manager’s request, I provided my credit card number for a $ 200 deposit. He sent me an email confirming the transaction. Less than two weeks later, I was informed by a Mill Pond employee, speaking on behalf of the owner, Dean, that the room we booked would not be private after all. Other diners would be seated there as well. When I responded that that was not the original agreement, I was told that the manager no longer worked there, and that, therefore, they were not obligated to honor any of his prior commitments. After expressing my dissatisfaction, I was told that if we wanted the room to be private, the price per person would have to be increased(drastically, I might add). I do not understand how a business owner can renege on an agreement that was reached by a manager acting as his agent and a customer. By doing so, Dean has demonstrated that he is only interested in maximizing his profits and recouping money spent on the renovation of his restaurant. He will squeeze as many tables as possible into a space in order to do so. There is a good turn to this story. After speaking with several of my friends, neighbors and co-workers, it seems that the Mill Pond is not what it used to be. Its reputation has taken a nose dive. Recent online reviewers have stated that the food is mediocre, the atmosphere is not customer friendly, and that the service is very slow. So, in retrospect, Dean did us a favor and my husband and I dodged a bullet. Other than the view, the Mill Pond has little to offer its patrons … except an owner with a total lack of integrity.

Been going here for years like the outdoor seating and outdoor bar to enjoy a large selection of white wine by the glass or bottle with appetizers or lobster. Oh honorable mention, the sushi is good too!

We had a reservation for 8 people and we were given a table on the 2nd floor, there was no view and the space was cramped. Our table was wobbly and the waiter had to try to fix it, when he couldn’t we swapped to another open table. The food here is fair, definitely not worth what you pay. We tried so many different dishes(steaks, chops, clams, etc) and the overall consensus of the group was its ok but nothing special that would make us come back. Would much rather go to Insignia or Pace’s.

Watch out if you go with a crowd of more than eight! They uncharge $ 5.00 per person. If you question their reasoning you’re likely to get a surly response. The back porch is very cold for dining in chilly, inclement weather but they seat there anyway. In good weather the view of Centerport Pond is terrific. Food is good to very good as is the service.

Great food and selection. Professional. Amazing outdoor seating and view of the water from up high. Good lunch specials. Would have given 5 stars until I had a baby shower in the room upstairs. Was intimate and a great view but the air condition was broken or they just didn’t listen when we asked 5 times to put it up. Was sweating while opening up gifts. Not very happy for the price we paid. Maybe would have received a comp but I didn’t speak up was my fault.

I recently visited Mill Pond House as a customer who has been a frequent diner here. Unfortunately this place is going downhill fast. My party of 4 waited for a table which seemed forever despite our 8PM reservation. It took 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table once seated and the service was awful. When the food finally arrived it was cold, tasteless and overpriced. The interior is old and needs renovation so even the décor is not what it used to be. It appears Mill Pond House has seen its best days and I won’t be back again.

I spent a wonderful early dinner here and was immediately enchanted by the view. What a gorgeous terrace to relax on! The appetizers are absolutely huge(sharing 2 between three people counted almost like a meal… not complaining!), with a special mention for the pernod mussels, which were so tasty I drank the sauce like a soup. I tried the scallops, the yellowfish tuna and the pasta of the day, all of which were delicious. They have a really great wine list too and the service is very efficient. I was enchanted by this restaurant!

So. I’ve been here probably 2 dozen times if not more. Incredible food and service. Mauritzio is the man. The female manager there is awesome too. She orders us the Kistler wine and she is on top of everything in the restaurant. I have always had the same dishes, seafood tower, Caesar salad, the crispy duck and banana tart at the end. Those dishes do not disappoint. Last time we went, we wanted sushi and steak. Mauritzio recommended a steak that was better than sparks steakhouse. I’ve found that if there was a poor rating… it was bc there were a bunch of whiney north shore snobs with no sense of taste who wanted large portions. Portions are great here, sushi chef rocks and service is awesome. But I will tell you, there is also a weird array of people who show up to a nice place like this when the fashion police should have arrested them before they got into their car to drive here.

My families favorite for years! Was there last night for dinner, sat outside waited a while for a table because of the first come first serve policy– fine with us! Ordered appetizers at the bar(Burratta, Soft shell Crabs wraps & the Sushi Roll Special) Delicious! Finally were seated shortly after sunset, felt bad for the staff because those unfamiliar with the seating policy were not so nice to some of the staff. I really hate to see that being a former Waitress myself. However, great time as usual. Would however definitely recommend for those looking for a quiet night to go there on a Tuesday or Wednesday, as from my experience Saturday’s are always packed :)

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 starts. This is really more of a 3.5 star place. I’ve been to Mill Pond House twice now, and both times was lucky enough to sit outside on their deck overlooking the water. It’s a beautiful view, and to me, the main draw of the place. The inside seems a little outdated. The service, though attentive(my water was refilled after what seemed like every sip), is extremely slooooow. It takes quite a bit of time for entrees to arrive. On my more recent visit we sat down at 5:30 and didn’t leave until almost 8 o’clock. On the upside, the food was delicious. I agree with the person who said the female staff was not dressed appropriately. The hostess was wearing what looked like a beach coverup on my last visit and it really didn’t fit with the upscale vibe of the place.

We have been here many times. Food, service, atmosphere usually awesome. Tonight was a disaster service wise. Extra long wait for a table and service was unbearably slow. Our waiter let us know that some of the kitchen help quit the night before. Food however was awesome as usual. Swordfish was perfectly cooked. My wife had the scallops which were tasty as usual. The friends we were with loved their dishes pork chop and tuna. Well worth the wait. When we finally got our check, there was no liquor, no dessert and no coffee on the check. Bravo to management here for doing the right thing without us even asking! We will definitely be back!

The female staff is dressed SO inappropriately. One women’s whole butt was showing in her dress because it was so short(saw actual butt cheek skin) and the hostess’ shirt was so short her entire tramp stamp could be seen. Not what I want a view of while I’m eating.

I went to mill pond Sunday for brunch With my family and another family We first met Scott at the bar, great bartender But now we get seated by a pleasant hostess Our waiter took 15 mins just to get a menu All waiters are Spanish They could barely understand English So it was no surprise they got the appetizers wrong Food was over cooked My friend got a steak it was over cooked Mind you it was the longest brunch ever The waiters were terrible They took forever to deliver food I had a 230 reservation We left at 545 Skip this restaurant at all cost View is nice, and Scott the bartender was great But the non English speaking servers don’t deserve your business And food was awful

very good place. 1st the place is right on a large lake-like pond, so the views are excellent. a real plus especially in the spring and summer. the staff is very friendly and helpful, although when it is very crowded they tend to rush you a bit to free up the table for the next in line. but the overall service is excellent Now the food, the selection and quality of the appetizers is awesome. there is something for all tastes. the overall menu is very inventive and always appealing. lots of different tastes to try. Food quality is outstanding and always fresh. Love the steaks. and although this is not a sushi place, the rolls that i tried were totally great. i have not had a bad meal at this place yet and i have been here countless times. i highly recommend

Met Roy and Lana(aka the Mad Russian) for dinner and quite possibly had one of the best dinners I’ve had in awhile. We had to wait a few(maybe 20 – 30 minutes but I’m not complaining) for our table over looking Mill Pond at Sunset. The night was perfect. The food was awesome. I am still dreaming and drooling over the mussels we had. The service was great. The company was also wonderful. Yes Roy, the mussels get my vote hands down with extra bread to indulge in that delicious broth. Hell everything was great that we ordered but if I had to pick one thing to go back for it’d be the mussels. They were just perfect and oh so good. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Yum!
