My sister purchased a Whirlpool Washer Dryer from Two guys a few years ago. The lid interlock(keeps the machine from agitating when the lid is open) started to fail after a year or so. Two guys sent a technician out to replace the switch. During the replacement the glass lid was dropped and cracked. TwoGuys tried to charge her for a new lid in addition to other repair costs. Fortunately she witnessed the incident and refused to pay. TwoGuys agreed to replace the lid as part of the warranty repair. Unfortunately that model was discontinued(wonder why?) so the lid had to be placed on back order. After about a year of waiting we finally contacted TwoGuys who claimed no knowledge of the incident or the agreement. After another round of arguments they again agreed to replace the lid. We are still waiting for the replacement(it’s been over a month). The lid retails for about $ 175.00. Meanwhile my sister who is bed ridden with rheumatoid arthritis has been taking her laundry out to the local laundromat. We finally decided to toss the unit and buy a new one from Home Depot. I’ll give you a guess on when we’ll be back to TwoGuys.

Supporting a local business is the best thing we can do to jump start the economy. The owner of Two Guys Discount Appliance isn’t manipulating the company stock for a golden parachute. Its a local business that’s been in Lake Grove longer than I bought my house in the 90s. I bought my BBQ, Range Hood and stove from Two Guys over the years. They also sell TVs, washers, dryers, refrigerators and some cool looking retro stoves! So I stopped in recently to get my BBQ ready before the holiday. I needed some grill parts that rusted out over the winter I see a sign on their door, MOVING That sucks because they have a prime corner location. I’m sure the owner is looking to save money on rents and made a decision to employ Long Islanders and not lay off anyone. Support your local business!
