So, as an update to my original review… After being told over the phone that I would be unable to get the correct background fabric for the quilt kit I ordered, the next day I received an e-mail that they were sorry for the mix up and that an order for the correct fabric had been expedited and would be sent out ASAP. I received it today, and I love it! I am updating my rating to 4 stars. They made it right, and in a timely fashion.

An amazing place if you love fabrics, this is an inspirational place. Well organized by colors. Nice section of batiks.

I ordered a BOM from Keepsake Quilting. Everything went well until the last block was to be sent. My credit card was charged and then I received an email that the charge was being reversed due to a shortage of fabric. She further explained that they were waiting on the manufacturer. That was January, 2015. Since that time I have sent 2 emails asking for an update on the fabric. No reply. I finally called and was told«well, it looks like there’s about a hundred of you waiting». There was no emotion or interest in the voice of the employee. No apology or update. I guess they figure as long as they returned my money for one block it’s ok that I have only 11 blocks to finish a 12 block quilt. But it’s not so much the missing block. I can figure that out. It’s their lack of interest to send a reply. This is unusual in the quilting world. I guess they’re too big to care. They’ve lost my business.

This is a big store with a lot to choose from, but in terms of the employees’ attitudes, they’ve lost their way somewhat.

It has been 12 days since I placed an order for over $ 100 in fabric and it still hasn’t arrived and the status stayed«in process» on their website until I called the last time which was yesterday. Now it just says«shipped.» From now on I’ll shop Amazon– they have basically the same stuff. I just hope WHEN it arrives that the order is correct– everything said it was in stock. I will update more later after I receive it. *fingers crossed*

This store has beautiful fabric but otherwise has deteriorated. Whoever is in charge needs to take notice. Bathrooms disgusting and workforce is less than interested. Wow after years of visiting really disappointed.

I have been doing business with Keepsake Quilting for many years and I’ve never had any problems with orders, service or quality. It was my dream to visit the shop and finally today, I did. However, I was concerned about the negative reviews. I stepped inside and was surrounded by beautiful fabrics tastefully displayed. I wandered and looked at everything and believe me, they have every fabric you can imagine. All of it neatly displayed in a spotless, well decorated setting. I heard laughter from the staff as they spoke with customers. When I had picked out something, I took it to the cutting table and in less than a minute, a gentleman came over and cut it for me. He smiled and was polite and friendly. We joked with the cashiers who wanted to ring up my purchase but it wasn’t mine. I was just looking at a nearby display. But they were certainly being friendly and helpful! When we were ready to check out, the lady was friendly and smiling. My sister asked for recommendations for lunch and she mentioned several restaurants and even walked to the window with us to point out one that was easily within walking distance. and it was a great choice! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and can’t wait for another road trip! I’m sorry others had such a bad experience but it certainly wasn’t in evidence today. I will say fabric ranges from about $ 6 to the highest I saw at $ 11.60 a yard. There are patterns, and patterns with fabric, for purchase as well as thousands of bolts all displayed by color and a section with several types of batting. There’s a notions area as well, but it’s not very large. There are also needlepoint and counted cross stitch kits available. There are packaged medleys by color, season, or Batik. There are many samples as well as quilts for sale at reasonable prices. I would say go and visit, make it a day in the Lakes area and judge for yourself.

This online quilting supply store has terrible customer service. A friend with many years quilting experience suggested I order from them. I am new to quilting. Despite the fact that there were four stamped names on my order sheet– people who supposedly inspected the order– there were two yards of fabric missing. I called them twice and sent multiple emails and got no useful response. One of the times I called I was told that one of the yards of fabric was actually not available. I sent them a very clear email to please refund my money for those two yards which they ignored. Instead, without discussing it with me, I got an email tonight that they are sending one of the yards of material. I had ordered that material to match the discontinued material– so without the discontinued yardage it is of no use to me. It took an extremely long time for the shipment to arrive and it was not possible to track it as it meandered across the country. My experience ordering from was excellent, by comparison.

A quilting friend recently had a disastrous time with this company. She ordered a kit, and when it arrived she saw that one strip of fabric was cut too narrow. She needed it to complete the pattern, so she emailed Keepsake. After 2 emails asking them to contact her(she got no obvious reply), she recieved in the mail a single strip of fabric… totally the wrong color. They never even bothered to ask her what color she needed! When she phoned them she was told that she couuld either make that piece work or send the whole kit back. She sent it back, and with no other communication from them, she got a deposit into her checking account. Bummer for me as my folks just moved to NH and I was planning a trip to Keepsake. After seeing what Unilocalers think, I think not…

Over the years I have made the trip to Keepsake because of their selection and nothing more. Hence the reason for the three stars… selection ONLY. I don’t go as often anymore because I can’t stand being either ignored or looked down on… and they do both of these things really well. It’s a 2 ½ hour ride from my house and now a days I just feel that it’s no longer worth the trip. I would love to have a job where I am surrounded by all of that beautiful fabric and project samples. The women who work there, have clearly taken their surroundings and customers for granted. I check the reviews online to keep up with what’s happening and it doesn’t seem that anything has changed. Too bad. But good new for my local quilt shops!

I know this is a well known quilt shop — there are plenty of fabrics, many gifts but NO customer service whatsoever! I was in two weeks ago on a Sunday — there was one other person in the store. I asked for help finding«cupcake» fabric and St. Patrick’s Day fabric. They said they hadn’t pulled any yet and I should go look around. The«cupcake» fabric maybe I could find in the area with foods and they never moved to show me where. The only other customer in the store showed me where the cupcake fabric was. The employees have no interest in helping anyone. Last year when my quilt group was at Mills Falls we all went over and swore we’d never go back. I decided to give it another chance — big mistake! Support your local small business instead.

I came all the way from California to visit this famous store. The customer service was disappointing. The workers ignored me as I shopped, and when I mentioned I was from California, I got a blank stare. No big deal to them. The store itself is very nice, but since I didn’t feel welcomed, I will stick to my favorite California store, Eddie’s Quilting Bee, for my supplies.

This shop is known by most quilters as they have a vast catalog business. I’ve ordered from the catalog at least a dozen times over the years. The packages always arrive on the outside of time estimates. If it is 7 – 10 days it will be 10 – 11 days for example. My most recent order has taken greater than 2 months to be fulfilled and that is disappointing. I expect all quilt shops that are online to use the technology to notify customers of delays and update accordingly. Cotton prices have zoomed upwards because cheap product isn’t available from Egypt therefore I would hope that the shops would make a greater effort for customer satisfaction.
