We went to a Sur la Table date night cooking class with Chef Mark Kalix. We learned so much and we can’t wait to try to make the salad with pomegranate vinaigrette, pork with cherry-port sauce, green beans, and crème brûlée at home.(My husband really wants a crème brûlée torch– now dessert is manly). There were so many little tidbits of information and technique ideas that made us think, «I didn’t know that!» The meal was amazing and the portions were a good size. I will definitely recommend this to friends!

Not enough materials and too many students to learn anything. Spent most of the time waiting. Three of us shared one carrot to cut up. Teacher said, yeah, they added four extras this a.m. So we are low on materials. WTF. We spent $ 140 and my husband wound up spending most of his time looking at knives in the shop. Way too much time standing around and come on! How much would it have been to buy us each our own carrot?!? Greedy!

This was a experience to relish in… if you are looking to expand your culinary skills, Sur La Table is the place to go. They have a wide variety of classes from baking, grilling, international cuisine, sauces, salads and much more. Chef Diedra Rae is very knowledgeable, was upbeat, and managed our 9-person group with much grace and poise. What is even more surprising is you get to keep the food you prepare and in your class, and in my class, we were given addition dough, plus, you receive a store discount. What a killer deal!!! I absolutely can’t wait to go back for another class!!!
