It’s not very good: I ordered a steak and it tasted like a whole bottle of cumin was pours onto it… Those favors do not mix, and my friend ordered the chicken. She couldn’t even split it with her hands! Talk about a hockey puck.

RJ’S is the go to stop on the south side of the Grand Mesa if you are hungry or thirsty. Always fresh, always friendly. Creative and delicious specials. Full bar and patio stage for evening music and dancing. Kitchen open late on w/e’s. Hint: try the Rodeo Burger(I love several napkin burgers!) Say hi to owner/chef Rich. Seems like he’s always there greeting his customers.

The salmon salad was absolutely the best I’ve ever had! Delicious! Stopped here looking for a steakhouse and I’m so glad we did. Friendly waitress and nice clean location with a great patio. Hopefully we can come back and try something else!

Whenever I come to visit my folks on the western slope I visit RJ’s I’ve eaten in dining establishments from Ouray to Grand Junction that claim to have the best steaks and have concluded they make those claims only because they haven’t tried RJ’s yet :) Accustom to the finest steaks money can buy from home grown buffalo in Mt I find it hard to get comparable red meat away from home. When I do get the urge for red meat the only place i even consider is RJ’s I’ve always been pleased at the quality and preparation, even the burgers are real burgers. The prime rib is like a wet dream :) The bar tender and staff make you think your eating at home with family which for someone like myself that travels allot this is a treat. I’m taking friends from Montrose there for lunch today. A&L

Good service! Most lunch plates under 10 bucks and lots of good food! Try the Grand Mesa fire balls… like a popper and wings wrapped in BACONl! Burgers were very good.

I give this place five stars because the food is awesome! Steaks are great burgers are awesome people there are nice and the PRIMERIM is unparalleled. There are two settings both bar and dinning. Both are nice but outside at the bar is best. Prime Rib only two days a week.

Great food and service out where you least expect it. Warm atmosphere. Separate ‘saloon’ seating. Worth the drive!

Sorry, but we were totally disappointed in our St. Louis styled ribs! We had dinner here a couple of years ago and remembered them as being quite good, tender and flavorful, etc. Last night they were so tough, we had trouble sawing through them with a serrated steak knife. The ribs were flavorless as well as being tough. I was shocked and would have sent them back except we were treating friends to dinner and I did not want to make an issue. The corn bread muffins were also dry, small and seemingly made from one of those mixes where you just add water! Very sub par compared with the moist and delicious individual loaves we were served on our prior visit. The tiniest portion of coleslaw served in a condiment sized container was even more disappointing. I mean… how much does coleslaw cost? We were also charged $ 1.50 extra for substituting baked potato for fries. The service was good and the wine was reasonable. I will not go back to this restaurant anytime soon. The quality of their food has really gone downhill. Very disappointing meals.

Ate lunch here with some friends. I had the Gyro with cole slaw. Totally delicious! Fiancé had the fish tacos and they were not so good unfortunately. We would come here again to try something else. The chicken tenders needed some extra seasoning. And the chicken sandwich was«pretty good».

RJ’S is a great place to relax with friends and have a beer and really good food! In the summer sometimes they even have a band. It is a terrific place to go.

RJ’s Steakhouse was like an oasis on the Mesa; they have cocktails, great food, a great wait staff, and are open later than 9:00 pm and they serve cocktails(oh, I said that already). Our server, Malana, was just adorable and apologized that the dining room is not open on Monday and Tuesday, however, they were serving in the bar and on the patio. If what we had was their bar food, then I guess we need to go back when the dining room is open. I had succulent St. Louis style ribs and the husband had the steak special. We both agreed that this was one of the best meals we have had in a long time on a road trip. My margarita was really good and after dinner, Melana talked me into this concoction made with 99 Bananas and pineapple juice, and something else that made me forget the name. And best of all, Linda the owner, came over to see how things were and said they had made too many peach sundaes and wanted to know if we would like to help them with the extras. DUH! We had not saved room for desert but somehow found space as these sundaes were made with fresh Palisades peaches. If you are visiting Grand Mesa, stop in at RJ’s Steakhouse, I guarantee you will not be dissatisfied.
