Hong Palace has always been a great place to eat. The Chinese and Thai food is delicious and portions are generous. A full menu of Appetizers, Soups, salads, Thai Curries, Thai style entrees and Chef’s specials as well as Chinese House Specials and entrees are avaliable. I am not an expert on Thai or Chinese cuisine but the food at Hong Palace just tastes good to me. The variety of Thai and Chinese dishes that are available, a nice selection of beers and wines make the Hong Palace an inviting place to have a casual dinner. There are a few Oriental restaurants in Montrose and Delta area and Hong Palace is one of the best. The casual atmoshere is warm and inviting. The wait staff is friendly. I think the restaurant is family owned and operated. We usually order the Single Dinner that includes soup, egg roll, wonton, your entrée, choice of white or fried rice and a fortune cookie. Other Family Dinner combinations are availabe or just the individual entrée. There is a Kid’s Menu.

Being from Chicago with a lot of great restaurants to choose from, I was not expecting anything great in this small mountain town. However, I have to say that I was extremely impressed! The restaurant itself is very clean with very comfortable and stylish seating. The staff was not overly chatty, but very attentive and friendly. Now on to the food — wow! We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and I have to say that all the boxes were checked: Quantity of food — huge! Presentation of food — beautiful! Freshness/color of food — fantastic! Taste of food — fantastic! This place is truly a little gem if you are in the mood for great Chinese or Thai food. Keep up the great work Hong Palace — we wish you every success!

Well this is as good as can be expected for the area and well worth it. I do not know how long they have been open but I was told it was new. I added the business but do not know the exact address. It is just south of the town on the right hand side. We ordered two entrees and two pots of soup and one kids meal for 4 adults and one 8 year old. There was more than enough food to feed us. So great value for the money. The soups were a sizzling rice soup which was ok. The other was the coconut soup which was really good. Seriously, I am VERY picky about my coconut soup and this was better than I get at 90% of the places even in a big city. My only complaint was that it had a bit too much cilantro in it but that can be over looked. Our two entrees were Green Curry and Basil Beef. Both were really good. The portions were enough to feed two people each. The kids meal was teriyaki beer on skewers which was very flavorful. We ordered green tea to drink which was just a bit odd in flavor. Tasted like there might have been lavender in it or something. Drinkable but just not what I was looking for. All in all I was VERY surprised by the quality of food in such a small area. We will be back the next time that we visit the area. P. S. Let me just give a complement on the service. We came in about 15 – 30 minutes before closing. We were the only ones there and you could tell that they had most likely been cleaning up for the evening. But they served us unlike the pizza place in the area. Food was amazing since I am sure they had to pull everything out and make it fresh. BUT it did not feel rushed, nor did we! The service was lacking a bit in attentiveness but I know they were trying to clean up after us so they could get home too. It would have been very easy for them to say they did not want to serve us or just give us crap for food because they wanted to get the hell out of there, but they didn’t!!!
