Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Textiles

I love love love this place. It is such an awe-​inspiring place that showcases beautiful pieces of fiber arts! The current exhibit of modern quilts is Stunning! Everyone should see this!

This is a magnificent setting for quilts, built and maintained by wonderful volunteers and dedicated professionals.
The original homestead is being added to with plans for an additional barn for showcasing quilts. When you walk in the barn that is there now you are blown away with the perfect setting it is for the magnificent quilts.
And there’s a cool gift shop, too!
I love quilts so this was quite a fun destination for me. Luckily it is located a bit outside of downtown Cedarburg which was hosting a huge winter festival when we were there. We couldn’t get near the cute restaurants so we ate burgers in the parking lot before we went inside.
So call ahead to make sure the town will be accessible before you decide to not eat in Milwaukee!

A solid reason to visit Cedarburg with its cute main street, the museum is a testimony to how passion and volunteers can achieve wonderful things. A large airy barn conversion provides a wonderfully luminous space for the temporary exhibitions. Did I mention the staff is a fount of information and incredibly friendly? I wish I lived closer.
