Every time I leave I feel amazing. I’ve been going to DeRiah for years and normally you think that after going to one stylist for years you fall into patterns(at least my last stylist did– and I found myself looking like all the other moms in Mequon). But when that stylist left(yay) and I was free to go elsewhere I ran right to DeRiah and never looked back. Every stylist is talented and creative. Hair is an art to them and mine(though I’d be comfy going to anyone!) knows exactly how to make my hair look the best for ME plus change it up every now and then to continue to be fresh and stylish. :). I highly recommend.

After a horrible experience at a different salon, I was hesitant to try another. But I need haircuts so that I don’t look homeless. I had a Groupon for De Riah and it worked out great. I believe I saw Aria(?) and she was super nice. I described what the last girl had done to my hair and what I really wanted done. She listened and made suggestions. I like that Aria told me what she was going to do and why, and she never does something I don’t want. She works with my hair’s natural texture, my lazy way of fixing it, and is helping me grow it out while still looking cute. She also told me what products she used and why, but I didn’t feel pressured to buy them. She doesn’t talk too much, but like to ask and answer questions, and connects well with clients. I’ve been to her twice and plan to return as long as I live close! I feel relieved to find a salon and stylist who can meet my needs. The last thing I want to mention is that Aria is very reasonably priced for a good haircut. I was paying almost twice as much for my great stylist in my hometown. In regards to an earlier review about feeling like being on an assembly line and being, that must have been a rare occurrence as I never experience that. That is a crappy experience though!

This place should have many more reviews or ratings than just one… it’s called DeRiah Boutique and Salon. Or even De Riah Salon. People are probably just unable to find it on Unilocal because of this. This Salon is like the«Beauty» of Cedarburg. Cute older Victorian home that has been turned into a salon. My first and only visit to this salon was because they had a Groupon where you spend $ 50 and get $ 100 worth of services. It was voted one of the best salons a few years ago so I decided to buy it. Really all I wanted was a ridiculously amazing haircut. So I negotiated that I would have the owner cut my hair which normally costs $ 72 and add on a conditioning treatment to fill in for the extra amount, which cost like $ 18 and then I’d leave the remaining amount as a prepaid tip. I was SO excited about going to DeRiah. It took me like 45 to drive there but I will drive a distance for a good hair experience. They greeted me and told me to wait while I had some complimentary tea. Suddenly I felt rushed and was hurried to the wash station. I noticed the place was packed with teens and found out it was prom night or something(was a friday). The place was manic. I was barely greeted by the owner/head stylist who didn’t even have a minute to look at a few of the pictures I brought in or some of the things I wanted to discuss about the cut. Normally, and especially as a new client, the stylist takes a bit of time to have some small talk, but instead she was using me to teach an apprentice or understudy and so it was awkward with someone standing behind me just watching me. I couldn’t even look in the mirror after a while because I’d see this person staring at my head… Horrible professionalism. I really really wanted to find my new hair stylist. My haircut turned out really nice — although, because she didn’t listen to what I wanted, the back it was on a weird angle. I can tell that she has excellent skills but this whole experience made me feel like I was on an assembly line. I have not been back since because I felt insulted. I wonder if they just used me as a pawn because of the coupon I had bought. If it weren’t for the horrible service I think I would have gone back feeling confident that I’d found my new stylist even at the regular cost of $ 72 per cut. They lost a potential regular customer.

I went to their new location in Mequon. First impressions were great! I saw Brittany Wagner. She was fantastic. I had been growing out my hair to try something different with my hair style. So I had her clean it up… Being new to the medium to long hair game, I didn’t really know the upkeep and styling rules. Brittany was very helpful with helping me understand how to tame my new look. If you want a friendly stylist with good energy and insight, make an appointment with De Riah and ask for Brittany.

Stephanie is a great stylist and has a modern approach with skill and knowledge of the latest styles. Great prices compared to the big city with the same high end environment and talent.
