We had a wonderful meal! The beer was great(TFM was very smooth, a bit better than the Scottish Ale imho), and the wine from Longview was crisp. We started with the artichoke dip. Very good! Pita was nice and warm. I was initially hesitant to order the coconut cashew walleye, because most places fall short of that great crisp on the breading, leaving it soggy and drowning in oil. This might have been the best piece of breaded fish I’ve had. It was a perfectly golden crisp with no oil to be seen. The piece of fish itself was delicious, and the dipping sauce was sweet and lightweight. Great, great dish. The other three in my party ordered the shrimp special, the southwest chicken, and the cherry ribs, and all were very happy. Now, dessert. The salted caramel stout cake. Absolutely delicious. That salted caramel sauce is drinkable! :) So good. We walked away very happy :) We recently moved to TC and are excited to come back soon!

Good IPA5 out of 5! My Falafel Wrap was yummy… I’d give it a 4.5. Nice curry taste in the sauce. The tater tots, fries and deep fried clams were standard Gordon Food Service frozen deep fried fare. Great service. Not worth going out of your way for the food or atmosphere, but happy to find something decent in Cedar.

Homey décor with a nice patio out back. Very good fish and chips made with Alaskan pollock. Good creamy cole slaw. May have to come back with an appetite for the Sunday all-you-can-eat breakfast.

The cedar rustic inn was fabulous. Great food. We split a Southern omelette and walked out very satisfied. You may even be lucky enough to get Chiara as your waitress.

We had the family style breakfast here twice while visiting the area. The breakfast was as good as any that I’ve ever had. Of course, vacation makes a lot of things taste better. But this was seriously good!

After visiting the tasting room next door, stopped in for lunch. Noting to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. They do not allow wine from next door in the building. Stop by your vehicle and put it away or they will refuse to let you in the door.

An extra star provided for the warm greeting, friendly and prompt service and the patio seating. I had no complaints with my lunch of split pea soup and a polish sausage with sauerkraut and a side of fruit. I lok forward to trying dinner and breakfast.

The most important factor of any dining experience, the food, is really solid at the Cedar Rustic Inn. Our service was just OK. When we arrived around 8:30 on a Saturday night, they let us know that they’d closed the patio because«there were storms over Lake Michigan.» It seemed to be an excuse not to have to walk all the way to the back of the restaurant, because the skies never darkened and no raindrops fell all night. And our waitress seemed to run away from us as soon as she possibly could. But their coconut crusted walleye is truly delicious. Grouper was pretty tasty; same with the chicken marsala. The stir fry was totally tasteless, so I’d steer clear of their Asian preparations. Rice and veggies aren’t particularly interesting, but they’re cooked properly and taste just fine. No pretense or posturing to be seen. For the price, I’ll be sure to enjoy the Rustic Inn again.

Food and service are always consistently good! Soup is homemade. Salads are fresh and good quality ingredients, great homemade dressings(cherry balsamic). I can’t believe that they have Filipino PANCIT on the menu in this small town!(Very creative and daring of the chef here in Cedar, Michigan!) This is a rice noodle dish for those folks that are gluten-free. This dish was good. Just a note: pizza is take-out only. Greek pizza was yummy. Went back for breakfast. I ordered a single slice of the french toast, which was OK, I would prefer a nice chunky slab of french toast. My husband ordered the Lumberjack breakfast($ 7.50) and he said that it was an excellent value for the price. He enjoyed two nice size pieces of ham, two sausage links(the best, really good), home fries(very, very good and yummy) and the eggs were average. (2.5 stars for the french toast, hubby gives the Lumberjack a 3.5 star; so breakfast gets a 3 star)

What do you get when you put local, fresh ingredients, a Culinary Institute of America Hyde Park, NY graduate and a whole lot of rural Michigan? The CEDARRUSTICINN! Seriously, it is fun and great for breakfast lunch or dinner. This visit, I popped in for breakfast on Monday morning and got an incredibly robust breakfast — egg whites, bacon(and it was slap your momma delicous thick cut!), ham steak, home potatoes and sourdough toast at a ridiculously low price — like $ 7. Tonight having a fresh baked pizza with nearly every vegetable topping you could imagine, piping hot with feta cheese. There is something in the water here that makes the crust taste amazing! It also puffs up beautifully. No cardboard crust here in the hinterlands. They do call in’s too. On prior visits I have enjoyed the Cherry Chicken Salad with local dried Michigan cherries and a home-recipie cherry balsamic dressing. Their Cedar burger is also a great item and don’t forget the cheese! A nice portion with fries and spear pickle for $ 8.75. Don’t forget to try the unexpected like the Thai Style Chicken Curry. It won’t let you down. Anyway, just stop in. Tell Aaron and Nikki I sent you. If you see two cute as a button little girls running about — that is just my two nieces. LOL — see, I wouldn’t steer you wrong!
