Stumbled upon this restaurant when camping at the nearby Pettecote Junction campground. Although we didn’t have a reservation on a Friday night and were not overnight guests, the hostess was kind enough to seat us at the one open table in the dining room. I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered the crab cake appetizer. It was a unique take on a crab cake; I enjoyed it but would recommend trying something else unless you’re feeling adventurous. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. When a couple of guests sitting by the window, noticed a skunk perusing around the vehicles and bicycles parked outside, an employee swiftly took care of the problem with a .22 rifle.

This is a great fine dining restaurant in nice B&B. Not easy to get to but worth the trip. Call ahead for hours.

I started going to Cedar Run in 1959. It was the greatest place in the world to grow up but the Inn was never the place to eat. That has all changed! I have the same thing every time I eat there-house pâté and chicken frangelico and I have NEVER been disappointed. Rooms have so much charm and Stan and Charlotte could not be more gracious hosts.

Wonderful little inn. Excellent trout fishing. Great food. I’ve been coming here since…1983? Every few years, basically — although the management may change occasionally, the place itself is frozen in time, and worth going for the two constants: good food, and a truly beautiful place to be deep in the hills.
