Dropped off my mower and was told 2 weeks. Seems a bit long for a simple repair that I had already diagnosed. Called back after 16 days and was told they’d call me later that day. The next day called back to see what the deal was. Got told they’d have to call me back. Just before closing they did call and give me a report. That was on Friday and I was told Monday it would be ready. Called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and now again on Friday and got the same bullshit of just waiting on parts. «Confirmed they will be here today» so now we are looking for a Saturday return date. Only 4 weeks in the shop for a stripped out drive wheel gear and other truly minor parts. Find another place if you need repair. You won’t get your shit back in a timely manner from these tools.

Took a chainsaw in that my father in law gave me. Chainsaw needed chain sharpened and a tune up as it had been sitting for a couple of years. I figured $ 50-$ 60 bucks. $ 250 later I got my chainsaw back. They were very quick, but this was ridiculous for a tune up on a chainsaw. If they had to put that much money in to it they should have called to get permission first. When I said something about the price they said a simmilar saw would cost $ 600 so I was getting a deal. Not much of a deal when I could have bought a brand new saw that was sitting in their show room for $ 179 that would have met my needs just fine.

We took our leaf blower in for service two weeks before the flood of 2008. I tried calling to get the blower back before downtown flooded, but they assured me that everyone’s equipment was safe. After the water receded I was told to drive to Iowa City to pick up my blower, only to find that it was caked in mud and had indeed been in the flood. I asked if it even ran and why it hadn’t been cleaned up but was rudely told that they were too busy to clean equipment. To add insult to injury they gouged me over $ 100 to get my blower back. Nervier again will I grace the doors of the Sled Shed!

Ordered a bag attachment for my Toro mower a few years ago. Sled Shed told me it would arrive in a week and they’d call. Two weeks went by, nothing. I called them and was told 1 more week. Still no call. I finally stopped by and they had it sitting by the counter, wonder how long it sat there? I needed another part for my Toro shortly after, I went to Midway Equipment, much friendlier staff and they had my part in stock.

My lawn mower took a crap on me, it was only 2 years old(Briggs and straton), I had a couple people tell me to take it here and that they were really good. I took it in a month ago and I still have not got it back from them not one phone call, nothing so I’ve stopped in a few times and called and every time they say their going to have someone look at it. really? How long does it take should I just go get a new lawn mower? I’ve had to barrow Janessa’s parents mower 5 times now this is ridiculous! I could have bought a new one for less then what they are going to charge me and summers half over! Thanks guys.
