Waste of time and money. Half of the arcade machines don’t work and just eat your tokens and the controls and some games are just outright broken. Very small inside and only about 20 games in total. Save your money and go to the roller skating rink or the trampoline park. Much more fun, clean and accessable.

Short Version: I’m surprised this is in Iowa. If you’re used to big city arcades and have high expectations, you’re going to be disappointed. Some TLC could make this place go a long way, but for what it is and how much it costs, it’s an enjoyable experience that’s hard to find anywhere else in the area.
Long Version:
It was super hot out, and I was hanging out with someone new, and I wanted to enjoy the wonders of mini golf. Cedar Rapids has another mini golf place, but it’s outdoors, and it was way too hot for that. We both decided this was the best choice. You can get a general idea of pricing online ($ 14 per hour for unlimited stuff), and I *think* it was $ 6 per person for us to do unlimited mini golf, but don’t quote me on that one.
The unlimited events are mini golf, rock climbing, the indoor playground, SpaceBall, JumpShot, and Bumper Cars. That’s easily enough to keep most children occupied for well over an hour. The non-​unlimited include things like pool, the air hockey table, and any of the arcade games. Pool was 2 tokens a game (50 cents a game) — as was the air hockey table. The token machine accepts cash and credit cards.
Pros:
–Decent selection of stuff to do. Not all of it is in great shape, but you’d be hard-​pressed to find such a large selection of games and whatnot in a single place anywhere else in the area.
–Neat food choices. There’s pizza and ice cream– and of course, soda. Unlimited refills on the soda as well. For the adultsies, there are a couple beers on tap. Some of the food tables are located outside of the play area, so you can go to a quieter area to talk and eat when you want a break.
–Employees were friendly enough when interacting with them.
–Mini golf course was challenging but still fun. Pretty basic, but it was enjoyable, and you could play it as many times as you wanted. Multiple sizes of clubs varying from adult to child too to fit the whole family.
–Depending on what time you come, this could be a great date place for adults too. Mini golf, pool table, arcade games, rock climbing, and the air hockey table seem especially good for adults.
Cons:
–The layout is a bit squished. It’s clear they had limited floor space to work with and wanted everything as compact as possible. If this place was busy, I think I would have felt a little uncomfortable standing in some areas. As it stands, we luckily were the only ones in the place while we were there.
–Air hockey table and pool table need some love. The air hockey table was in pretty horrid shape. One of the goals was so bent that no pucks could enter it. Lots of dead zones on the air hockey table meant that the puck really didn’t float like it should have. The pool table had places where felt was missing, but it didn’t effect the game much.
Would go back again — especially during off-​peak hours.

Great place for kids or adults. Lots to do & the place is well maintained and clean. Staff was super friendly. Wish we lived closer because we would sure come back!

I took my grand son to Planet X and tonight was dead I guess due to everyone shopping. But my grandson enjoyed himself. I thought they could do better on the arcade games. They do have more than Chuck E Cheese but I think its a bit pricey. I didn’t try the pizza it looked ok as I saw other customers. The laser tag room was very small. The best day to go would be on a Friday they have a two hour special. Over all since my grandson loved it I would go back. But what other choices do I have. Iowa is so limited on fun things for kids.

A fun day with the kiddos for sure! Food, bowling, batting cages, arcade games, rock wall, laser tag, putt-​putt; there’s something for everyone here. Plan to spend an entire afternoon or evening here (or however long it takes to feel completely worn out), but even then it would be impossible to take advantage of all the games P-​X has to offer. Not too pricey, but definitely not entertainment that I could afford more than once every couple of months (last visit included 2 adults and 2 children). Not a lot of staff on hand; downside given the large amount of kids, tweens, teens running around. ⁴⁄₅.

Great place to take the family! Laser tag, rock climbing, mini-​golf, bumper cars, and so much more to keep every one entertained. The pizza is some of the best I’ve had since moving to Cedar Rapids, and they’re constantly trying out new flavors at their homemade ice cream bar!
But probably the best part about Planet X is their involvement in the community. It seems like almost every week they’re hosting a FUNdraiser to raise money for a good cause. $ 10 for an all you can eat pizza buffet PLUS free mini golf, laser tag and more. It’s a great deal AND you’re helping out a good cause!

I am from the East Coast and it is very hard to find good pizza (in my opinion) in the Cedar Rapids area. Whole premium ingredients. Like ice cream? They you will love their homemade ice cream bar. Again, premium ingredients. Great place to take the kids while getting some work done using their free wi-​fi… however, you will probably want to play with the kids~ a large variety of different games and activities. I do let the kids have the tickets for prizes … sometimes. ;) Great atmosphere and a very clean facility… no dirty ball pits. Friendly staff, always smiling. Great place for birthday parties… think I might have mine there!

Planet X is a wonderful company, and very philanthropic. They donated to our cause and often host wonderful fundraising events at their facility. Thanks so much!

This place was disappointing. We ordered our pizzas and then a busload of kids came after us and they got their pizzas first. That wasn’t right. They said it was because the busload had a reservation for 4 mos.? The whole place was small. The video arcade machines seemed to be old second hand ones. Laser tag was in a very cramped area. We won’t be back.
