Pros: –Would definitely stay again. Friendly staff, clean room, nice lobby, easy parking, and good hotel. –Nicely lit hotel room. No overhead lighting, but large windows let in good outdoor light and other indoor lights work fine. Bedding is gorgeous. –Room was clean. No complaints there. –Very compact hotel. Built up instead of expansive. This means you can get on the centrally-located elevator and get to your room without too much walking any which way. –Nice, roomy bathroom. No squeezing into this one. More-than-enough room to literally have 12 people just stand in there without touching if you really wanted. :P –By far, the best hotel shower I’ve ever used. Curtains closed all the way like they’re supposed to, water actually got hotter than I could tolerate so I had to turn it down a bit, and it had fantastic pressure behind it. Three people took a shower all one right-after another, and the third person still had an entirely-hot shower. –Right next to a McDonalds or Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. All within one block’s walking distance. Very easy to get back onto the highway to easily get around the Cedar Rapids area too. −24÷7 fitness room with free weights, mirrors, benches, and treadmill and elliptical. Also includes a pool area with hot tub. Cons: –Pool only goes to 4 feet deep. I enjoy treading walker as my morning workout, and nope, that 4 feet wasn’t going to cut it. –Room phone didn’t seem to work. Room remote was missing the battery cover. –Complimentary breakfast seems to end early. 9AM seems a bit too early for me. I’m used to 10 or 10:30. –Some attention needs to be paid to the pool area. The pool and fitness area were entirely out of towels with overfilled used towel bins. As the parking lot was near-empty, it doesn’t seem like an overfilled hotel was to blame. It seems like a lack of attention. –Accidentally left some food and beverage in the fridge. Called a couple hours after check-in to see if they might have found it but was told that no food or drink was ever turned into the lost and found and all cleaning staff had already gone home for the day, so I was told that one of them just took it home or tossed it. Since it was mostly alcohol, I’m a bit annoyed.

Stayed overnight this past weekend. Very new Fairfield Inn. Usual suite of complimentary items for a Fairfield — parking, Wifi, fitness center pool, hot breakfast, microwave oven, & mini-refrigerator. Lot’s of outlets for my electronics. Room was on the small side, but it had a bevy of coat hooks to maximize space. Bathroom layout was well thought out and the biggest I remember seeing in a Fairfield! Very enjoyable and reasonable. I would definitely stay here again when my travels bring me back to Cedar Falls! Highly recommend and will repeat!

Clean! Clean! very Clean! best place to stay Smells fresh! Cust. Serv. great. Continental breakfast was always good. We always stay at this brand cause of the card rewards, an never been disappointed. Even after going through the sheets, looking on the tops of things an places you would think would be dirty– no loose hair in the bead, no dust anyplace an it smelled neutral, which means good! Highly recommend price is high but worth it!!!

I avoid Fairfield Inns usually. Many of them are advanced in age and downright dumpy. However, because it’s a franchise of Marriott they have higher prices though some are comparable to a Motel 6 in condition. Okay, I exaggerated a bit. I wouldn’t know how Motel 6 would be but you get my drift. It can be downright old and crappy for over $ 100 a night. However, I’m glad to say when you can find a new one, they’re pretty nice and the price doesn’t seem so bad anymore. This one in C Raps is one of the newer ones and I don’t mind staying here. I of course started a list on which hotel to stay and which one to avoid. This one made it to my good list, not my D list(Dump) or my S list(Shit hole). Being new, it’s bright and clean. The lobby is very nice with contemporary feeling. The dining area for the free breakfast they serve is also comfortable, with booths equipped with electrical outlets, cushy seats, and big screen TV. Breakfast was ok but hey, it’s free. They have good varieties like waffles, scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, biscuit and gravy, fresh fruits, yogurt, etc. The room is also comfy, spacious, and clean. The beds are still quite comfortable. I have gotten rooms with a walk in shower that I love, but my last visit I got a tub. I was a bit disappointed getting a tub. I thought all of the rooms have the walk-in shower. That would be something I have to request next time. Each room also have microwave and fridge. They have in house gym, unlike some of the dumpy Fairfields. That’s a huge plus for people who needs to get their work-out in. It does not apply to me right this very moment, but never say never. I still pack my gym shoes just in case the moment is right. I wish they make Cialis to give you a boner for a gym. Front desk people — they have young inexperienced girls working at the front desk. That’s the impression anyway. I have been to too many Marriotts and I must say first time I noticed this type of uniforms worn by staff. They looked a little sloppy with weird tie looking thing that was worn outside their jacket. Not sure if it’s a nationwide uniform or C Raps fashion. I felt the urge of wanting to tuck it in behind the jacket for them. The front desk staff was nice and friendly but they just seemed they need more training in hospitality. I showed her my coupon offer from Unilocal and she had no idea about it and pretty much just say she didn’t know. She didn’t try to find out or let alone honor it. I’d say if the hotel has an offer out there, staff should be informed and has some type of references to find out instead of just brushing off customers. The coupon may not apply to my stay but 20% off I can read clearly. The fine print was hard to understand, and the staff just tilted her head like a Valley girl and said. don’t know, don’t think it applies. I just thought it could be handled better for their Platinum elite members. However, this isn’t a huge deal. Just a point to improve. Anyway. Not shabby of a hotel. There are a couple of restaurants across the street if you’re hungry and carless. If you’re dying, a hospice is also conveniently located in the vicinity. It beats any Fairfield Inns around the area. It’s by far the nicest one I found in Iowa.

Great hotel — this is still a very new hotel and everything is up to date. My only complaint is that they are using so much water softener it feels like showering in nuru massage oil. I was in the shower for half an hour thinking that the soap wouldn’t come off before I realized that I’m not crazy, their water softener man is crazy.
