Absolutely love this place. Try to go once a week at least. They have great pizza and the chicken parmesan is always excellent.

Sams is the best place to go for pizza, calamari and cannoli. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing and the restaurant is very clean. This is a family favorite.

Amazed to find such awesome authentic NY style pizza in TEXAS! I make up to a dozen visits to NYC for work and am familiar with NY style pizza & Sam’s Pizza and Pasta is as authentic as it gets. The pizza crust is crisp & light and perfectly charred and the sauce is perfectly seasoned. Pastas are superb and the menu offerings are a broad, including cold sandwiches, calzones, full pies, pizza by the slice, calamari, linguini, parmigiana, OMG garlic knots, crisp salads, & scrumptious tiramisu, cakes, canoli, & other desserts… This is a family-owned and operated restaurant and service is friendly and professional. While I was waiting for our take out order, a brief 15 minute wait, there were a couple loyal patrons greeted with warm welcomes by folks behind the counter, which is always a good sign. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of tables for eating in or you can call for take out.

Loved this little place! A friend told my boyfriend s since they were going to be in the area for a light show this was a MUST stop! It’s one of those BYOB pizza joints that is phenomenal. The guy that took our order was very friendly. We ordered calamari, 2 salads, and the stuffed pizza. They brought out delicious bread! Just all great! Stop by if your in the area…

Is there someplace else to get pizza? Seriously the family that owns this cares so much about what they are putting on your plate. Last night the whole family was there just cooking away. I swear I saw pops throwing pies Into the oven . I travel for work all around the country now so my family gets pizza here more then I do. But I try a slice when I travel at different places and this really is the best . They do not skimp on quality or quantity here. Nice people, great food ! Forget the other pizza places and make the trip. I drive the 25 min to pick it up and then try not to pick at it on the 25 min trip home . Go now !!! Pray you can get a table and eat it there so you don’t have to be tortured with the smells of goodness on your way home.

I have enjoyed Sams for quite someone. I love the fact that it’s run by a real Italian family. They have huge portions. I ordered the chicken parm and it was great, great flavor and more than enough for two. The garlic knots are a must have, and the marinara sauce is great. Pizza slices are great and the stuffed meat pizza is the best.

Omg, Are YOU from NYC? This is as close to home as you will ever have!!! The garlic knots n marinara sauce, ooiiyy! Yummers!!! I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza and could eat one! But wow, it took me HOME! Next day ate my last pizza n house salad with their house dressing, heavenly! My husband, also a New Yorker had the sausage n peppers Stromboli and he didn’t use the fork n knife!!! Ate it like a sandwich with his marinara sauce! We loved talking to the owner, «pops» n his son! From da Bronx!!! Whoa!!! Not far from where I lived! That makes us… Family!!! No one can understand that bond but us, the place is beautiful, the people amazing service!!! Those coming for their orders know what they come for is Awesomeness sauce! ‘Dropping the mic!‘ Come and get it! You won’t regret it! I’m coming back Saturday! With hubby minus dog, we ate in our car! Ahh! What shall we eat? It WILL be delightfully good!

My wife, kids and I went to Sam’s pizza yesterday for dinner and loved it. We went the simple route ordered a large pizza, it was delicious! The mixture of people made me feel like I fit right in. The owners and the people taking our order where nice. The only down fall was that they where NY Giants fans. Great place! my wife and I decided to try everything on the menu once. Unilocal was the only reason I visited this place and it was worth it thanks Unilocal

In most towns this place would be Mecca for NY-style pizza, and I suppose it’s the place in Cedar Hill. The place is huge and comfortable. And clean. The folks working the counter, including one of the owners, are exceptionally polite and glad to have your business. The pizza is good. Not great, but better than any chain and a lot of other places that try to lay claim to being NY-style. Crust could use a little flavor(salt perhaps?) and the pepperoni is a little on the greasy side, even for pepperoni. I’d definitely eat here again, but I would probably go for mushroom and sliced Italian sausage. Or I might even try a pasta dish. The ones I saw going to other tables looked divine.

I have been coming here for over 12 years now. Food has always been great and we love the Family that run this establishment. All these years they remain as friendly as always. The food has always been fresh and spot on. Husbands fave is the Stromboli hands down. I always must have the Eggplant Parmigiana or Linguine with clams in white wine sauce. Kids love the Penne In Marinara and or pizza. It’s all good. Something for every body. My family enjoys it here each and every time. We will continue to come here for many many more years to come. Happy Tummies signing out.

YUMMO! I can only seem to order the same thing every time I eat here. Their linguini and clam sauce is to die for! DDDDDDDEEEEEVINE! A fresh, light, olive oil based clam sauce. The only thing that would make it more delectable is some homemade noodles. But heck, this stuff is the best ever. Husband orders a calzone or Stromboli every time, and craves more almost as soon as he cleans his plate. If you happen to be in Cedar Hill, don’t miss stopping in. Next time, I’m committed to try a dessert… or two.

Best pizza in the area! Walk up, order your food, find a table(self-seating) workers will find your table and your food will arrive within 10 – 15 mins, nice and hot. They give you delicious garlic bread while you wait. No alcohol sales, but it is BYOB. When you are ready to pay, walk up to the counter and 99% of the time they will remember exactly what you had. The staff is always attentive and courteous.

If your looking for authentic New York style pizza… This is your place the pizza is amazing and the best in the DFW hands down! You can purchase the whole pizza or by the slice. They have hot and cold Subs, pasta like Baked Ziti and lasagna, etc. They also have a variety of salads. The chef salad is big enough to be a meal and has plenty of meat. The garlic knots are fresh and the dough melts in your mouth. The philly cheese steak and the super sub was outstanding! They were both very meaty, flavorful and a nice size. The pasta taste fresh like it was home made and the chicken parmigiana is a must try! The dessert… The cheese cake and tarimusu was pretty good too… Not homemade but good. This is my second trip there this week and they are definitely part of my regulars list!

If you are going anywhere else but Sams for pizza or pasta in the best southwest area, you might need your head examined. Family owned and operated, this place is a real feather in the cap of Cedar Hill. Always greeted with a smile and a kind word, the siblings who work the line are professional and personable, and the food is evidently made with skill and appreciation for quality. The pizzas are New York Style thin crust, and the toppings are all high quality. Their stuffed meat pizza is a meal in a slice, and the calzones and subs are a breath of fresh air. The chicken parm sub is top notch, the sausage and peppers are real deal, and if you are feeling adventurous? Get the sausage and egg. Italian sausage and scrambled eggs. Great! The pasta is all well executed, from the spaghetti and meatballs to the chicken pizzaola. Most dishes are accompanied with a salad, and the house dressing is a tomato dressing that is tangy and fresh! Complimentary bread with some entrees, one little creation we like is to order two meatballs in marinara and an order of garlic knots. Combine the two and eat with a fork. Yowzah! The desserts(if you can save room for them) are extremely good. The cannolis are filled with a chocolate chip buttercream, the tira misu is homemade, and the double fudge cake is a guilty pleasure of mine. If you always go to Macaroni grill or Olive Garden and think that you are getting the best Italian fare, once you are done reevaluating your life choices in the bathroom for hours, get over to Sam’s and try some honest to goodness family Italian. Your taste buds will thank you!

Easy to find with large neon letters across the entire front of the building. Don’t let the location or décor fool you. This is hands down the best pizza ever. Period. Kinda in the middle of almost nowhere, but that doesn’t seem to slow Sam’s down. Order at the counter when you walk in. Buy by the slice, or pie.(BTW In case you’re wondering, it warms up later fantastically.) My fiancé, Joseph and I each got one slice and an order of garlic knots. Which are also super. Find a seat. Sam brought our knots out first with a ramekin of piping hot marinara. A few minutes later our slices arrived, each with their own side of marinara as well. After every bite Joseph would say something to the affect of, «This is the best pizza I’ve ever had,» and«I will never eat at another pizza place ever.» That is just a small sampling of the compliments spewing from him, after every bite. Pay after you eat. That was our first time here, for my birthday on Wednesday. Today is Saturday and we are here for dinner again!!!

The prices are absolutely incredible: $ 7.95 for Spaghetti w/Meatballs and even Lasagna. The flavors resemble a hoppin’ «Mom & Pop» joint from the innards of NYC. The family that owns the restaurant are courteous, polite and eager to leave every customer’s tummy gleeful. There is ample sitting area, as well as parking surrounded the entire building.

Finding a good Italian restaurant in DFW is a daunting task since non Tex-Mex options are few and far between. And finding one in Southern Dallas County is pretty much impossible! Well Sam’s is a welcome little unicorn out in quaint downtown Cedar Hill. Sam’s offers a menu of pasta dishes(lasagna, spaghetti, manicotti, etc.), Stromboli, and pizza. I only had the pizza which was excellent and loaded with stringy cheese atop a crisp thin crust. My only complaint is that the dining area was absolutely FILTHY on my recent visit! Un-bused tables, food on the floor, dead flies on the windowsills… ick! The World Cup was on so perhaps the staff was busy watching the game instead of keeping the dining floor clean? Not sure, but the state of the dining area made me a little leery of what was going on back in the kitchen.
