I’ve seen James Avery in many shopping locations, but never had the desire to enter the store. Well that all changed when I received a charm bracelet as a Christmas gift. It’s a chain linked heart bracelet with my sorority initials as the charm. So to finish out the sorority theme on my bracelet. We decided to make a trip to James Avery and add a very dainty pearl. Upon entering the store, I saw multiple display cases full of various jewelry selections. The store is spacious and well lit. I don’t know why, but the store gives me old cathedral church feel. I guess it’s all the wood and flooring that does it. Anyway, I found my pearl and proceeded with checkout. The sales associate handed me a safety pin and asked me to place my charm on my bracelet. That was rather painless. Then, she informed me I can pick it up the next day. The soldering of the charms on the bracelet are done in house. Just an FYI. The following day I go pick up my bracelet. I inspected the bracelet(apparently not well enough) and everything seemed fine. It wasn’t until I got home and noticed how bad the soldering of the pearl was. Instead, of a nice circular closure. Whomever did it made it flat. And the enclosure was warped as well. Needless to say, I was unhappy about the additional trip I was about to make back to the store. After work I go back to the store and show the sales associate the poor soldering job. She immediately goes«Oh this is bad.» No shit! I thought to myself. While she was inspecting my bracelet. I was thinking to myself I really shouldn’t have to wait another day for my bracelet. Nor should I have to do an additional drive to pick it up. Luckily the manager had it fixed for me ASAP. It took less than 15 mins to correct. She apologized for the inconvenience and off I went. Needless to say, my 1st experience with James Avery has been less than stellar. I give this place a rating of 3. The customer service was a bonus and a rating saving grace.
